Chapter 49

Everyone’s direction was taken towards the unexpected guest that had just walked in. It was a man, a notable man in black coloured suit and a brown hair smoothly brushed on his head.

He had a small lily flower at one side of his chest and a huge chin beard. His looks told them all that he was serving under some sort of wealthy people.

” This wedding must be cancelled immediately.” He said, raising his arm.

The guest began to face eachother as they murmured among themselves. Katrina turned to look at the couples that were on the altar. Their face were void of emotion.

She knew Amy would have started to feel squeezed in the chest thinking her wedding would be a huge mistake.

She curled up her lips with anger and pulled up her long, white rosy dress and matched towards the notable man.

” Who gave you the permission to step into this wedding and open that wide hole of yours to speak against this wedding!” She yelled, turning red at the corner of her eyes.

” This is the order from my boss, Ma’am.” He bowed in respect.

” Who the fk is your boss!. Let her show her ugly face!”

The man stepped aside as another tall, notable woman in her forties wearing a red dinner gown stepped down the red carpet. She looked all young, despite her old age. Some one could mistaken her for a lady.

Her eyes was on xan all through as she walked in with so much authority until she stopped infront of katrina and turned to look at her.

” Who are you?” Katrina asked, raising her brows up.

The place went dim in silence as all eyes pierced on the small katrina and the mighty and powerful lady infront of her.

” I am who I’m supposed to be. Xan’s mother.” She smiled like a mischievous wtch.

Katrina mouth dropped. She almost thought the woman was around her age or something. She crossed her arm.

” And so?. If you are Xan’s mother, aren’t you supposed to support his marriage?”

” I do not support a marriage that i am unaware of, knowing nothing about the spouse he is bringing to the family. ” She said and katrina looked at xan.

Xan climbed down the poduim and stopped at the last feet of the altar.

” You don’t deserve to know anything because you have been ignorant of me for the past years. You left me, you said you never needed me. I strived to get on my feet feeling completely motherless” He said.

” Yes, I’ve been that way because you chose me to be that way, xan. I use to love you, but not anymore. Anyways, you are still my son, i deserve to interfere with your life as well.”

” You have no audacity to go against my marriage because you never belonged here.”

” Well, now i do. And the priest has said it himself. I do not accept this marriage union, period” She said turning to look at the priest.

Katrina gritted her teeth in annoyance. This woman was definitely crossing her boundaries. She strided up to the altar. Everyone covered their lips as they gasped.

She stood beside the priest holding up his book for him.

” Make them say their vows and end this delay already!” She yelled.

Xan’s mom turned to her men who were standing at the both side behind her backs.

” Seize that girl and put her somewhere she might regret.” She sneered.

The two men walked to the altar and yanked Katrina by her two arms.

” Ahh! Let go of me!. Let me go!” She yelled, scattering her legs everywhere.

Vixen finally stood up from where he had been sticking his butt to. He had been watching and had finally taken enough.

” Mom!” He walked up to her. The men held katrina in place.

” Son..” Her eyes suddenly turned daring with love.

” I don’t like the way things are going on in here. I invited you over to attend Xan’s wedding and you just walked in, causing a huge problem.” He yelled.

The woman palmed his shoulder and muttered a silent laugh.

” Son. Stay out of this. It’s between your big brother and i ” she said and finally made way towards the altar.

Amy’s mom came forth and stopped her in the process. Her face was molling with so much displeasure.

” You still haven’t prove to us your reason for cancelling this wedding?”

” Why am i being queried by some pack of rags now?” She sighed, rolling her eyes.

” This is my daughter’s wedding and i won’t let you ruin it for her.” Mrs qin yelled.

” Wait. My son is marrying your daughter. And you look like…Oh gross..infact. this wedding must be destroyed!” she muttered.

” Don’t make me break your skinny bones!” mrs qin rattled.

” Watch your tongue around me, old lady. I’m more tough than you expect.” She said.

Mrs qin fisted her palm tightly together as she stared at her. It was all vixen’s fault for inviting her down in the first place.

If she hadn’t come, this wedding could have ended some minute ago and the couples would have gladly moved for their honeymoon trip.

The notable woman moved away from her and stepped towards the altar. She stopped when she could face everyone.

” I stand here as an objection to this awful wedding. My reasons are very clear. As a mother to the groom, i was unaware of this wedding until yesrerday evening. And once again, some other family critics which i won’t state, caused me to go against it as well.” She said.

A large murmuring came from the crowds of guest as everyone spoke to eachother, if her opinion was right or not. Amy heaved a sigh as she pouted her lips sadly. She had refused to say anything because she was heartbroken.

This was supposed to be the happiest day of her life because it only came once. But this was how it all ended. She used the back of her palm to wipe the tears off her eyes as she bent her heads in worry. What if she never get to marry xan in the end.

Xan noticed her mood and instantly got on edge. He inhaled and exhaled out with depression.

” Is my opinion acceptable, priest?” Xan’s mother asked turning to face him.

” I do not agree to your opinion, Ma’am. For who ever it maybe, the reasons are not clear.” The priest said.

The crowds all went murmuring in agreement in line with the priest as well.

” You abandoned your son years ago, Ma’am. He grew himself to this stage all alone and finally decides to settle with a wife. Why wouldn’t he abadon you on the day of his wedding?”

She dropped her jaw in shock. She wasn’t expecting this.

” Wait. Are you guys saying I’m the bad one here?” She asked.

” Definitely. You can see if for yourself. No good mother would abadon his son and still want to cause a havoc in his wedding. Too bad.” The priest shaked his heads.

” Did you even listen to my side story at all?. Or are you guys willing to just get this two married and run over it?” She asked.

” i would never support evil, ma’am. You have wronged your son for years and he deserves to do such to you.”

” Does everyone accept this too?” She asked, talking to the few crowds.

They all made some loud noises, pointing in total approval. She sighed and gave a charming smile that seemed to elude evil

” Well, i guess i have no other thing to say again now. I lose. I’ll kindly take my leave and..the wedding can take place as it wish.” She said and turned to look at xan.

Xan also stared back at her and everyone thought they were doing a glaring competition. She stepped down the altar and began to stroll out of the wedding without waiting behind for the final vows.

However, At the beautiful altar, the priest continued from where he had stopped. Amy heaved a sigh of relief as her heart raced with so much joy and happiness. Who would have thought fate would change her life in a matter of minute.

A big thanks to the priest and guest who supported her. She turned to stare at xan with her happy face and xan was forced to return the same expression even tho he was quite faciled.

” Here are your rings..” The priest gave it to them and they eagerly picked them with care.

” Repeat after my words, xan…” He said to him.

Xan cleared his throat as the microphone was stretched towards his direction. He picked Amy’s little palm and pointed the ring at her forth entrance.

” I give you this ring for my undying love by internal faith and undying devotion. It is an outwards reminder of our inner unity.

You are the love of my life and my best friend, with this ring i promise you forever. Amen.” He said and xan pulled the ring into her finger.

Amy smiled as she stared at the ring like it was the first time she was seeing it. She was asked to repeat the same words after the priest and out of nervousness, she spoke with her eyes close.

She pulled the ring into his finger as well and they held eachother’s palm. The priest closed his book and everyone stood up.

” Today marks the day of this two becoming couples. It is my privilege and my honor to declare you as…. husband and wife!” He proclaimed and everyone joyfully clapped.

Amy stared at xan as she smiled with all the happiness the world coud give her. Her eyes sparkled with joy, he was her joy.

Xan was glad that at last everything ended safely. He was disappointed that the wedding had something bad to talk about. But all in all, he was happy.

” You may kss your bride.” The priest said and Xan held her and leaned in to kss her lips softly. Such a short wife he got, he laughed.

” I present to you, Mr Xan and Mrs Alicia.”

Xan hugged tight to Amy, as passionate as he could.
