Chapter 56
EVENING.? XAN’S MANSION.
The environment inside the living room was cold and silent.
The candle chandeliers were the only thing that lit up the room at that time.
Vixen occupied a sofa along with mrs lewis and katrina sat next to mrs qin.
Xan sat in the longest sofa in the livingroom with Amy resting her head on his shoulder.
Everyone was silent until xan continued.
” The honeymoon went as planned. Everything was…very smooth, tho” Xan said deemly.
He stared at no one in particular as he forced the word out of his lip. The candle light made an exposure on his face giving him that aesthetic effect.
Mrs qin grabbed another set of tissue as she rushed it down her nose.
” But…The baby is not going to survive.” Xan said as he instantly lowered his gaze to stare at his knuckles.
Everyone gasped and sat up as their gaze returned to Amy who was laying her head lifelessly on Xan’s shoulder.
She pouted her lips as well as her heart clenched tight inside her chest.
” After we left the..um.. camp. She was well and alright and we decided to visit the hospital to check on her health and to see if she was pregnant.” He said and paused.
Amy’s hand tightened on his chest as she rested her forehead on his shoulder to sob more.
He looked down at her and pulled her closer before facing the rest of them.
” The doctor said she was pregnant but her womb, not capable of holding a child, so…it’s either she has a miscarriage later on. Or we just terminate it ourselves.” He said and inhaled a very long sigh.
Mrs lewis turned to face everyone in confusion.
” Wait. Are you saying, Amy can’t give me a grandchild. She can’t have babies?” She asked.
Xan raised his gaze to meet her face.
” Yes, she can’t.” He simply muttered.
” What!. And you married her!” She yelled, standing to her feet.
” What the h’ll were you thinking, xan!. Do you think i can accept such excuse. She’s is more or less a barren.”
” Mom!” Vixen threw a warning gaze at her.
” What is mom!. I need to talk!” Mrs lewis yelled.
” How can i accept a daughter inlaw who can’t give me the happiness that every mother wishes for. Don’t you think I’m a human too.”
Katrina groaned and stood up with anger.
” Mrs lewis, you need to understand the fact that Amy didn’t make herself, barren!”
” So?. Who?. Me?” Mrs lewis rattled.
” Just hear me out first!” She yelled back.
Mrs qin stood up and shaked her heads.
” I’m sorry everyone. I’m upstairs if anyone needs me.” She said and walked out. Katrina folded her hands and turned to mrs lewis.
” She had an ab.ortion and lost her womb in the process. There isn’t any going back in this, okay?.” She said.
” Katrina. That doesn’t concern me. My major concern is that i won’t get a grandchild after this. It’s better ending this marriage now that there’s still time.”
” You can’t end a marriage that you never contributed to.” Katrina yelled.
” Please, katrina. You give me too much headache. Please let me talk!” She said and turned to glare at Amy.
” And you…” She said.
Amy raised her head staring at her with all the innocence of the world. Her eyes sparkling like their were diamonds tears ready to fall out of them.
” I thought i made myself clear, last time. As far as I breath and exist, you are NOT my son’s wife. You are not!. Do you know what you are, you are childless and barren!. That’s what you are!.”
” Mrs lewis!” Katrina yelled, boiling red on her face.
” Yes, i know i am.” Amy said making everyone stare at her.
” I don’t deserve to have a happy life. I don’t deserve any good thing. I’m childless, I’m cursed! That me.” She said and curled her lips into her mouth as tears streamed down her eyes.
She stood up.
” I’m sorry but, i don’t even feel like I’m part of this family anymore. Goodnight everybody.” She said with a tight heart as she ran out.
” I’m outta here because I’m speechless.” Vixen said, standing to his feet before walking away.
Mrs lewis hissed and turned to xan, she realised he had been piercing his gaze at her dangerously.
She could almost feel his shadow crawl into her and stung her heart with a black da.gger.
She cleared her throat and stung back a stare at him too.
” Xan. One more time, where-his- your -dad?!” She asked and stumped out of the room angrily.
Katrina sighed and went to sit next to xan. She held his arm.
” I’m sorry about everything, xan. It’s just too much to handle.” She said and rested her head on his shoulder.
Xan palmed his eyes and didn’t realise when tears began to stream out of them.

VIXEN BEDROOM.
Katrina rolled her hair behind her as she stepped to sit next to vixen. She sat down and rested her head on his chest.
” I feel like crying, vix.” She said sniffing her nose.
” Why?” Vixen said, rubbing her hair.
” When i thought everything was going well for Amy and xan, it was only turning worse.”
” That just life for you, Kate. Trust me, they are going to have an happy ending. I’m sure they could figure out something else.”
” Like adopting a baby?”
” Yeah.”
” No. I want Amy to have her own baby. I’ve always wanted them to be a big family. I hope her baby does not get a miscarriage as the doctor said” She said and hugged him tight.
” You feel sick.” Vixen said palming her forehead.
” Yeah, it’s been happening to me for the past few days now. Nausea, tiredness, running out of temperature and the likes”
” Are you sure you okay?”
” Yes, I’m fine.” She laughed and kssed his cheek.
Vixen raised his brows in suspicion. Nausea, tiredness, temperature….
Something tells him to run.
