Chapter 59
Katrina laid flat on the clinic bed as the nurse performed a scan on her stomach.
Vixen was leaning nearby, watching both katrina and the screen.
” Have you seen it?. That’s the heartbeat of the baby over there.” The nurse said pointing at the body screen
Vixen tilted his neck and nodded even tho he never understood what was on the screen or what was actually going on.
His mind and body had drifted afar. He was busy thinking of his life.
” That’s a sign that she’s pregnant. She’s two weeks gone” The nurse said.
” Two week?. Just two?” He returned back the question.
” Yes.” She said and turned off the monitor screen and came down.
” So. That’s it. Anymore thing you still want to confirm?” She asked and vixen palmed his face, shaking his head.
” No. Thank you.” He muttered and took a very deep breath.
Katrina sat up and buttoned up her shirt buttons properly
” You see, vix. I wasn’t lying to you. I’m pregnant.” She said and vixen raised his gaze to meet her.
” I wasn’t saying you were lying. I just wanted to delay my brain from thinking it was true.” He said with a painful smile.
The nurse laughed and picked up her stethoscope.
“I’m sure you guys would fit perfectly well as a new couple.” The nurse smirked.
” You think?. What do you think vix?” Katrina asked turning to look at him.
” My brain is not in the mood to think.” He said.
He looked away, meddling on too much thought of his own.
He couldn’t believe this girl was pregnant. He was suppose to enjoy his youthful age and life blossoms and now this stupid…stupid thing pops up.
He slapped himself lightly, hoping he was only dreaming. He ran his fingers into his hair feeling so many goosebumps run on his skin.
” She’s two weeks pregnant. Two weeks!. Vixen, what I’ve you done to yourself!” He muttered, tugging his hair tight.
The nurse turned to look at katrina after noticing vixen wierd behaviour.
” Are you sure he’s alright?”
” Don’t worry about him. I’m sure he’s feeling too joyful about the news.” Kate replied with a smile.
” Okay then. I’ll leave you guys to have some space with yourself while i go attend to some other people.” She said.
” Okay, Bye.” Katrina waved and watched the door close before running down to meet vixen.
She grabbed his arm happily.
” Isn’t this great?. We are going to have our own babies.” She jumped happily but noticed his bored mood.
” What’s the problem, baby?” She asked rubbing his shoulder gently.
” Kate. I’m not ready. I’m not. Just look at me…Do i look like I’m dependent and even ready to get married?”
” What!. Of course, yes. You have a great job, you are 26. You are cool!. I’m sure you will be a good daddy”
” I don’t feel ready emotionally and physiologically.” He said, resting on his cheek.
” Then let terminate it quickly before anyone finds out. I don’t feel ready to have kids either. I just felt that maybe you would love to keep your baby.”
He held her palm and stood up.
” Yes. I really want to keep this baby, but I’m not ready to…you know…start being in the father business.”
” There’s no other roundabout to this, vix. It’s either you terminate the baby and not be a father or you keep it and be a father. Either of the two.” She yelled.
” Arg!. I don’t know what to choose.” Vixen palmed his eyes, walking around the room with his other arm in his pocket.
” Let’s just go for a termination, baby.” Katrina said folding her hands while watching him move around the room.
” No. Let’s discuss this situation effectively before we make a silly mistake.” He said.
” Okay. I’m listening but I have nothing to contribute.” She said, returning back to sit on the bed.
” Look kate. Going for a termination is the best idea for the two of us since we aren’t ready to have kids but…”
” But? But what?. The baby will come to hunt us down after it dies?” She asked, shrugging up her shoulder.
” No. I’m being considerate about your health. I don’t want the same thing that happened to Amy, to happen to you.” He said.
” Wtf!. I’ve done abortion over three times…you know…during my childhood antics. It depends on the pills you use and the type of body you have.”
” Are you supporting this motion that we should abort our baby?” Vixen asked, holding his waist.
” Look I’m not trying to support the motion. I just don’t want to make a mistake to have babies for a man who’s not physically ready.” She said and he sighed.
” Fine. I’m feeling quite guilty about this. I don’t think our baby deserves to go down. Its our baby, right?. Yeah, it’s our duty to care for him before he’s born.” He said.
” Some couples like us need this gift so badly but don’t have it, let’s cherish ours okay?.” She asked and vixen smiled warmly.
” You see two heads make a difference.” He said.
She came down the bed and walked up to him, wrapping his hands around him.
” You love me, i love you. I’m pregnant. What do you think is next?”
” So would you marry me?” He asked in deep, enchanting voice.
She bit her lips sxily and adjusted his wavy hair off his face.
” Of course, i would. I was waiting so patiently for this good day because i felt so jealous on Xan’s wedding. We should better start making plans.” She said.
” Yeah. We should.” He said and leaned to kss her forehead, then her nose…then he prolonged the kss on her lip.

AT THE BOARD ROOM
Xan flipped open his files and turned to face the crowd of people on the long meeting desk.
” By the end of the week, All the workers will be given extras, added to their salary for commercial reason.” He said and there was joyful murmers.
He began to step around the room with his hands behind his back.
” All the receptionist should see me after work today. You have a brief meeting with me.” He said and stopped moving around.
” That’s the end of my talk.” He said and the smooth applause was given to him.
His gaze landed on his wife who was in the midst of the workers and a deviI-like smirk appeared on his cheek.
” I would also call on my P.A, to give us some speech as well.” he said.
Amy instantly raised her head and stared at xan with very wide eyes.
” Yes, come out and instruct us as well.” He said, throwing his hands into his pocket.
” Omg.” Amy pouted her lip cutely as all eyes turned to look at her. She meekly stood up and hastily walked towards the front of the table.
Xan gave her some space as he retreated back to his seat
” Are you trying to disgrace her or what?” Vixen whispered inside his ears.
” No. I’m trying to improve her socially.” He grinned without turning to gaze at him.
Amy cleared her throat and blinked at the large crowd infront of her. She could feel goosebumps all over cheeks and neck.
She took in short breath warm up before starting up.
” Hello everyone. It’s an honor to be here this morning…”
” It’s 2 0 clock.” Someone muttered from the crowd. Xan glared at the idiot and that was enough to make him gulp down his life.
Her smile turned wider and meek as her eyes never remained on a spot.
” Sorry. I..i..meant…Afternoon. Sorry.” she apologised and continued.
Her head kept processing what to say but nothing was coming out.
She decided to open her lips and wait for anything that slids out of them.
” Um…i love the growth of this company. Yes, i must say, the development is very…good. The staffs are so hardworking. Let’s keep up the work!” She said, hijacking her arm in the air like a pirate.
Everyone stared at eachother, not knowing if to clap or just listen ahead.
She scratched her hair as she continued.
” Um…But there are still some little thing i still find impure here. L..like the window glasses, they are never cleaned.
I’m sure it would have gathered too much dust. The cleaners should otherwise, do their job.” She said.
She stealed a meek glance at xan and saw that he was resting on his cheek, smiling at her. She took her gaze away already sweating heavily.
” And yes, the cobwebs…there are alot of them in the offices. They need to be cleaned too. A..and the coffee machine, i think it should be replaced with a juice machine.” She said and the whole workers burst out laughing
Xan h!t the table and it miraculously shifted to a pin drop silence.
” Continue please.” He told her. She nodded and faced the crowd again, loosing her self confidence already.
She couldn’t say anything for over a minute as she stared at the crowd.
She knew anything she said next would make them laugh at her so she probably won’t talk about the company again.
She breathed in and out before gulping in nothing.
” But despite all of those, we still have beautiful workers who are very dedicated.
Everyone works towards seeing the betterment of this office. I’m sure we can improve more on our weakness if we try.” She smiled and everyone clapped their hands, still quite confused.
” Okay. That’s all.” She said, putting her hands behind her and everyone blankly stared back at her.
