Episode 13
Kimberly’s pov
A call from my boss came in. I checked the wall clock and it was 10:55PM.
What could be the problem? Did he not like the food?
I arranged my night gown and left my room holding breath in my hands.
I knocked and heard “come in” after what I had waited for like 45 seconds.
He was sitting on the edge of the bed, his head buried in his laptop.
“Sir I’m here” I said almost in a whisper but politely.
Dear lord I hope this isn’t about the food.
I thought and maintained my position I dare not make any movement or sound.
“Is Bryan in bed already?” he asked still concentrating on the laptop.
I frowned. I thought he had asked me about this already on phone before he came home.
“Y..yes sir” I finally answered.
He looked up at me, his face softened but I couldn’t really read his expression.
Mr Bergson’s pov
I looked up at her dropping young shoulders looking like a sheep waiting for slaughter.
Sweat glistened on my forehead. I wanted to get up and gather her in my arms and crashed my lips on hers but that will scare her away from me.
I don’t want to make her feel like I’m taking advantage of her
Or that I’m just looking for someone to fill up for Lisa.
I felt worst and in a state of insanity.
My mind is totally against this whole idea but my body is reacting differently.
Ethan you’re doom. You’re falling in love with your own maid.
“That will be all” I said. “you may leave now” I added.
As she was about to leave. I heard myself called her back.
“Kim wait” and she stopped on her track.
“Okay. You may leave” and she closed the door behind her.
I thought I saw something like a look of frustration and disappointment on her face but I didn’t have the courage to ask her about it.
Once again I’ve allowed her leave my presence again without achieving anything.
First it was in the living room now it’s in my bedroom.
“Coward ! coward ! coward ! Ethan you’re a real coward” I said to myself as I got up quickly and paced back and forth the room helplessly.
I was surprised at myself I couldn’t even tell her what was on my mind.
She may not feel the same way. She may reject me. I thought as I suddenly felt sad and sorrowful and loneliness is not helping either.
Kimberly’s pov
My heart almost jumped out of my chest when I saw him with only his shorts and a singlet.
I bit my lower lip as I watched his muscular body shinning proudly and perfectly in the dim bedroom light.
Too bad he may not feel the same way I’m feeling for him.
I shook my head off the negative thought and reminded myself of the good Christian background I was brought up.
Kimberly you must understand that this is someone’s husband.
My sub conscious warned and I nodded with divided mind.
You may leave now” his voice came snapping me outta my thought.
When I was about to leave he called back.
“Kim wait” then I heard “okay you may leave” when I had almost raised hope thinking he was going to do what I’ve been dreaming of.
But He ordered me to leave. I felt disappointed and in long strides I left the room closing the damn door behind me.
Stupid girl. He is your boss and he is definitely not interested in some maid like you Kim.
Don’t ever think he will like you!
