Elias was sited in the ward watching over his sister when the door opened and Romina walked in. “Aunt Romina,” Draco giggled and ran into her arms.
“Hey, how have you been?” She asked. “I’m fine, thanks for fulfilling my sister’s wish,” he appreciated.
“You are welcome, speaking of Diana, how is she?” Fromina asked as they walked closer. “Better, the surgery was successful. We are waiting for her to wake up,” he replied.
“Elias,” she called and he stood up. “Let’s talk,” he said and left the room, Romina followed him. The hall was quiet because it was almost midnight, she walked behind him while he led the way.
“Is something wrong?” Romina asked when he stopped. “How come you and my siblings are good buddies when you are just strangers?” He asked.
“I couldn’t just abandon your family after I kidnapped you, I had to keep tabs on them so I made friends with your siblings. Is something wrong with that?” She asked.
“Diana was wearing a wristwatch earlier, Draco said it was a gift from you. Why will you spy on them?” He asked and her heart raced but she tried to hide her nervousness. “I don’t understand you,” she feigns ignorance.
“That watch was a spy watch, why will you spy on them?” He questioned. “It was for their protection,” she replied.
“Really? Knowing and spying on my siblings, what more are you keeping from me?” He asked. “I’m not keeping secrets from you,” she denied.
“I know you find it hard to trust people but you can’t show up out of nowhere and toy with my family! You kidnapped me on my wedding day, you kept me away from my siblings and you spied on them? Who does that Romina?” He asked rhetorically.
“I’m sorry but I had to do all that,” she said. “I never did any of it for bad intentions, it was all for the best,” she said.
“No, it was for your selfish interest,” he replied. “I want to stay with my family, you can have your watches,” he said and dropped them on her hand.
“I….,” she couldn’t finish her sentence when he walked away. She felt hurt and abandoned, she turned to follow him but he was out of sight so she went home.
Zoey was sited in Mrs. Zaragoza’s room when she got home. “You are back,” Zoey said standing.
“Aren’t you going to charge yourself?” Romina asked. “I still have some battery left, I’ll charge myself after I pick Elias up tomorrow,” she replied.
“You don’t have to do that,” Romina said. “Charge me?” She asked.
“No, pick Elias up,” Romina replied. “He’ll come by himself?” She asked.
“No, he won’t be coming back,” Romina said and left the room. “She looked hurt,” Zoey said to herself as she watched Romina leave the room.
“Did they fight?” She asked no one as she walked closer to Mrs. Zaragoza. “He needs to return ’cause her surgery should be done soon” Zoey uttered with her gaze on the monitor that display Mrs. Zaragoza’s vitals.
“I’ll go and charge myself,” she said and left the room too.
Romina stood under the shower in her bedroom, she let the warm water make contact with her skin as her heart felt broken.
It was the first time she will experience something like that but she could not even figure out what it is before it ended.
“Why did he do that?” Romina asked no one as she switched off the shower and walked to her room with a towel around her chest.
She wore a simple short gown and combed her hair while staring at the moon. “What about my mom? He promised to help her,” she said to herself and got into the bed.
It was hard falling asleep but after a while, she slept off.
Mr. Zaragoza was on a call with Neil in his room. “She is acting strange,” he reported to Neil.
“Romina is always strange, you need to get her to trust you,” Neil advised. “She is not letting me go to the company and not is she talking about her mother,” he said.
“She will soon, tell her you don’t remember where you kept the will if she asked about it and that you want to write another one,” Neil told him.
“I am going to will everything to you right?” Mr. Zaragoza asked. “Got someone else in mind?” He asked.
“No, I was just asking,” he said. “Don’t ask foolish questions and do what you are told,” Neil snapped and he apologized. “I’m sorry.”
“I’ll visit tomorrow,” Neil informed him and hung up. Mr. Zaragoza threw the phone randomly on the bed and jumped on it.

Iris stared at her swollen face in the mirror and let out a dry laugh. “I deserve the best but the worst keeps happening to me,” she said to her reflection in the mirror.
Neil decided to let her go after she made it clear that she doesn’t love him and that he should stop threatening her with her past.
She wore a short green skirt and a white top, her hair was brushed down. She applied enough makeup to cover her swollen face.
“You are finally home,” Nora said as she sat at the dining table. “I was caught up in the middle of something,” she replied and took a slice of bread, she shove it in her mouth and drew a cup of tea closer.
“Middle of what? Diana had her surgery yesterday night and you were nowhere to be found,” she stated. “It’s not like my presence matter,” Iris retorted and rolled her eyes.
“Do you want to have a ¢ruel personality?” Nora asked. “What I am is people’s fault,” she spat.
“No, you are the fool for letting them turn you into a pawn,” Nora retorted. “I was helpless mom,” she cried as memories of everything she has been through flooded her mind.
“No you aren’t, you have a new hope with Elias,” Nora said. “He left too,” she replied sadly.
“He is going to come back because he loves you, he is different,” Nora assured. “He is going to leave if he gets to know the real me, no one will accept me mom it’s the reality we have to face,” she said with so much pain and anger.
“Do you accept yourself?” Nora asked and raised her jaw. “I don’t understand mom,” she said with a confused look.
“You can’t expect the world to accept you unless you accept yourself first,” Nora said and peck her forehead. “Finish your breakfast so we can go to the hospital together,” she added.
“I love you mom,” she said and Nora smiled at her

Diana was awake but she was a bit weak, Draco stayed with her while Elias went out to clear his head.
He was mad at Romina for what she did but he also felt like he went overboard. He dipped his hands into his pocket as he strolled, his eyes caught Iris walking in with her mom and a smile appeared on his lips.
He had no idea of how much he missed her until now, he was in a safe area so they didn’t see him.
He went to the rooftop as he was not ready to show himself yet.
Draco turned to look at the person who entered as he heard footsteps behind him. “Good morning,” Nora greeted walking closer to the bed.
“Morning,” he replied. “Morning Draco,” Iris greeted after much thought, she wanted to follow her mother’s advice and accept herself.
“Morning Iris,” he replied and Diana opened her eyes at the sound of Iris’s name. “Hi Iris,” she waved at her.
“Glad to see you are feeling better,” Iris said walking closer. “Good to see you are reflecting too,” she replied.
“I am all thanks to you, and when your brother returns I will be the perfect wife for him,” Iris uttered proudly.
“In your dreams,” Draco replied. “You guys should not fight, especially you Diana you are just getting better,” Nora scolded.
“I don’t want to pick a fight, I realized it’s useless we can just solve it with a simple conversation. We don’t want Iris for Elias because she is a strange woman, she will never make a wife let alone a mother,” Diana stated.
“People change,” Iris said. “Humm, but a leopard does not change its color,” Draco replied.
“I am not a leopard!” Iris snapped. “I didn’t call you one, we just want you to know that we will never support your relationship with our brother,” Draco replied.
“I don’t care if you support us, I am not getting married to you guys,” she spat and left the room.
“Can’t you forgive?” Nora asked. “We hold no grudges against your daughter, we just want her to realize her worth,” Diana replied.
“Those two!” Iris groaned. “I see you guys still don’t get along,” Elias said behind her.
