Romina sat on the bed staring at space, she wanted to work but all the files were deleted from her email.
She didn’t have to give herself a headache about how it was done, she works in a company full of Sherlock Holmes.
Zoey who was folding clothes was done and sat at the edge of the bed, Romina turned to her.
“Wanna talk to me?” She asked. “Why did Steve leave early?” Zoey inquired.
“He had something important to attend to,” Romina replied. “Are you okay?” Zoey asked.
“Not really, I miss mom and I am worried about her. She is not safe with Neil,” she answered.
“We should have never left,” Zoey muttered. “Yeah, but it was the best option we have too,” Romina got out of bed and sat on the armchair.
She placed her laptop on her lap and tried chatting with someone but the person wasn’t online.
“Why now?” She groaned, out of frustration. “Are you trying to get something to work?” Zoey inquired
“No… and yes, I want to access something but the network is as bad as my life at the moment,” she replied and groaned again h!tting the laptop.
“It’s not its fault, if you keep h!tting it you might not be able to access that SOMETHING ever again,” Zoey replied emphasizing the word something.
“Yeah, I should just wait,” she mumbled and dropped it on the nearest stool reluctantly.
“I miss dad,” she added staring at space, Zoey stared at the wall and switch off the lights.
“What are you…” Romina didn’t get to finish her sentence when she projected a video of Romina with her Dad
“I didn’t ask for that,” She mumbled. “I thought you need It, I can stop it if you want,” Zoey replied and tried to stop the projection.
“Don’t, it’s nice watching him,” she smiled with her gaze fixed on the projector, she watched the movie for thirty minutes.
“This was the day he died,” she uttered with a sad smile as she watched them joke during breakfast.
The movie was suddenly blank for a moment and the next thing was Mr. Zaragoza staring at the camera, he had a sad smile on.
“When we return I will explain everything to Romina,” he said and pat Zoey’s shoulder.
“Zoey pause,” Romina ordered. “What happened before this?” She asked.
Zoey searched her memory for a few seconds before turning to face Romina, “I don’t know, it’s not in my memory,” she replied.
“Dad must have shut you down, he could have done something or discussed it with mom. What was it he wanted to tell me? Could it involve Neil?” She asked and scoffed at herself.
“$illy me, of course, it involves him. He is the d’vil in our family.”
“How do I find out what happened?” Romina wondered and stood up, she paced around the room in deep thought.
“Should we open me up?” Zoey asked. “No, we have to jog mom’s memory,” she replied.
“How do we do that? We are not allowed in the mansion,” Zoey reminded.
“Yes, but we have someone who is,” Romina smiled happily.
“Who?” Zoey inquired. “Nanny Gloria, we can give her a copy of this video, she is going to play it with mom once Neil is not around that will help get cure her amnesia. This is it! All this is going to be over!” Romina giggled.
“I don’t think so,” Zoey muttered. “What do you mean? Don’t you believe my plan is going to work?” She asked.
“I already did that,” she muttered. “Do what?” Romina asked.
“Show Mrs. Zaragoza the videos, but it didn’t help,” Zoey blurted. “You what? Why didn’t you tell me?!” Romina questioned loudly
“She asked me to keep it a secret,” Zoey replied.
Romina didn’t say anything but simply find her way to the armchair and sat in it, she took a handful of her hair as everything seemed to be falling apart.
“I am sorry Romina, I was just following orders,” she apologized and Romina stood up with a fake smile she assured.
“It’s fine, I will just be outside.”
Romina walked down the stairs with heartache, she thought her mom was finally going to be fine once she sees the video but all hope is lost now.
How is she going to get her memories? When will all this stupid war with Neil end?
She was snapped out of her thought by Elias, who inquired, “Why are you still awake?”
Romina flinched slightly and turned to face him with a straight face.
“Are you okay?” Elias inquired. “Do you have alcohol?” She asked.
“Why do you ask?” He questioned back. “Just give a simple answer, stop making things hard,” she mumbled, furiously.
“Yes, follow me,” he said and took her to the small bar.
She sat on the stool while he got her a drink, she emptied the cup and dropped it noisily on the counter.
“Another,” she ordered and he poured her another glass, she gulp it too, and dropped the empty cup.
“Feeling better?” He asked leaning on the counter. “Yes, but I am going to need more,” she replied.
“What happened?” He inquired. “I just realized my life is a total mess and it will never be fine no matter how many times I wish it would be,” she replied and poured herself a drink.
“Why do you talk like that?” He asked taking the bottle from her.
“My mom will never regain her memory, I will never find the Will, Neil will always have his way and my life will continue to be a mess. I wish I wasn’t born,” she said and drank from the cup.
“That is wrong, don’t speak like that,” he cautioned.
“It is the truth,” she muttered and let out a weak smile. “My life, my family, everything was great before Neil showed up. After giving birth d’vil couldn’t think of another family except mine to adopt his child,” she chuckled and raised her eyelid to glance at Elias.
“Oh, don’t give me that pitiful look, I am okay,” she forced a smile to assure him but he knew better than that.
“I am here for you, you know that don’t you?” He asked. “Geez, you shouldn’t see me like this it’s barely twenty-four hours of our relationship,” she wiped her tears.
“I have seen you in worse conditions,” he smiled and peck her cheeks.
“I don’t know if I deserve it but I am happy I have it,” she mumbled and rested her head on the counter falling into a deep slumber.
“It is going to be fine,” Elias whispered in her ear, he walked out of the cubicle and carried her in a bridal style.
He took her to his room since he wished to spend the night staring at her sleeping face, he covered her with the duvet and left the room.
He bumped into Zoey who was on her way out, “Heading somewhere?” Elias asked.
“I am looking for Romina, she left the room after a short misunderstanding,” Zoey answered.
“You don’t have to worry, she is asleep in my room,” Elias informed her and she nodded.
“Thank you, good night,” she went back into the room and Elias went back to Romina.
Elias lay beside Romina and stroked her hair gently with a smile, he pecked her forehead and resumed stroking her hair.

The same night in a bar, Steve was drunk and the bartender was trying to make him go home but he would not move.
“Hey, Mister you should leave,” he repeated the same word over and over but Steve didn’t stop sobbing.
“I am going to throw you out if you refuse to leave,” the bartender threatened but drunken Steve didn’t understand a thing he said.
“Why did I let him get this drunk?!” The bartender screamed out of frustration.
“I will take care of him,” a girl said and the bartender turn to her.
He glanced at Steve and the girl back and forth, then he summon the courage to ask.
“Do you know him?” He asked. “Would you rather he disturb you?” She asked.
The bartender stared at drunk Steve who didn’t stop sobbing before shaking his head sideways.
“You can go with him,” he motioned. “Has to be paid his bills?” The girl asked
“Yes, he has a change,” he answered truthfully. “Keep the change,” she replied and held Steve’s arm, she put it around her shoulder and wrap her arm around his waist before staggering out of the bar with him.
“You will have to come to get your car tomorrow,” The girl who happened to be Nicole said, she shook her head. “That is if you have one.”
She helped him get into her car and she drove him to her house, she took him to the only guest room in the apartment.
“Romina,” he called with a smile. “Romina Zaragoza, you know her?” Nicole asked.
“I love you, Romina,” Steve mumbled and pulled her closer, getting on her he claimed her lips.
