A few minutes earlier…..

Steve rushed into Elias’s mansion and met Elias trying to stop Romina from leaving the mansion.

“Steve, my mom is in danger,” Romina said as she walked closer to him.

“She is going to be fine,” Steve assured. “No, Neil is going to hurt her unless I bring this document,” she raised some papers.

“What document?” Steve asked and took the papers from her. “You are going to give him everything? Have you lost your mind?!” He exclaimed after reading the document.

“My mom’s life is at risk, what the fuck do you want me to do?!” She screamed in tears. “I need to save my mom, I have lost her for the past four years I can’t let go of her, not now,” she shook her head sideways.

“You are not going to lose her, we are going to save her. The cops are on their way to your mansion, they will save your mom,” he assures.

“The cops couldn’t keep an eye on him in prison, what makes you think they will be able to apprehend him?” She threw the question at him, and he was dumbfounded.

“You don’t have an answer, do you? Get the hell out of my way!” She snapped and snatched the papers from him.

She tried to walk past her, but Elias held her arm. “Let go of me! None of you understand me!” She struggled to be free from him.

“Fine, I am going to let you go if you promise to think about the baby if not yourself,” he stated, and she calmed.

“I will be in my room,” she mumbled and rushed upstairs. “Romina,” Zoey called.

“We are going to escape,” she replied and snuck out of the room, there is another staircase that leads to the basement and a door that leads to the garage.

‘I am sorry guys, but I have to do this,’ she thought as she stared at them.

Present…….

A loud gvnshot was heard and Mrs. Zaragoza fell slowly to the floor, before anyone could comprehend what was going on she was lying in her pool of bI.ood.

‘M… Mom,” Romina stuttered as her knee felt vulnerable, and she fell beside her, staining the tip of her gown with Mrs. Zaragoza’s bI.ood.

“What have you done Neil?” Iris asked amidst fear. “The right thing,” Neil smirked.

“Ro… mina,” Mrs. Zaragoza stammered as she raised her hand weakly and cup Romina’s cheek.

“Mom,” she cried. Mrs. Zaragoza smiled weakly and wiped her tears, Romina held her hand as it slowly felt cold.

“Don’t cry, you shouldn’t cry it isn’t healthy for the baby,” she warned making Romina shed more tears.

Zoey and Nicole walked closer while Iris moved closer to Neil.

“Why did you do that? You didn’t have to kll her,” Iris scolded. “Are you scared? Don’t be, she isn’t d.ead yet, but she will be in the next few minutes,” he laughed d’vilishly.

“You are a m®nster Neil,” Iris spat. “No… No sweetheart, we are m®nsters,” he corrected and Iris felt tears form in her eyes.

“Stay with me mom, I need you,” Romina cried. “No, you don’t. You have come so far all alone, you can do more you just have to trust in yourself,” Mrs. Zaragoza replied with a weak smile

“Don’t say that mom, I can’t do this without you,” she cried.

“Your dad is proud of you, and I am too, we both love you so much,” she assured and coughed bI.ood.

“Stop talking, we will have this discussion after you survive. I need you to be strong,” she said and turn to Nicole and Zoey.

“Someone called an ambulance, my mom needs help!” She screamed.

“That would be a waste of time, she is going to die anyway,” Neil laughed. “I am going to kll you, mark my words I will be the end of you!” She yelled in tears.

“Don’t waste your energy on me, because you are following her,” he pointed the gvn at Romina and pulled the trlgger without hesitation.

A gvnshot was heard, but Romina was still holding her mom, she started at the floor and her gaze fell on Zoey.

“Zoey!” She screamed and pulled her closer, her eyes were opened, but she already stopped functioning.

“Romina,” Mrs. Zaragoza called. “Run my child, run away from here.”

“Mom opens your eyes,” she pleaded in tears and turn to Zoey. “Hey, stand up you idiot! Are you just gonna lie there, I need you to get up!” She cried as she shocked Zoey’s body.

“Hi… I… Am… An… AI… Robot… Zoey… Romina… Zaragoza companion… Best… Friend….” She trailed off and shut down.

“Hey!” Romina screamed. “She is a robot?!” Neil exclaimed in disappointment.

“Romina, I can see your father,” she uttered with a sad smile and pointed at Mr. Zaragoza who was smiling at her.

Mrs. Zaragoza smiled back and glanced at her distraught daughter.

She wished she could spend more time with her, but it was obvious her wish won’t be fulfilled.

Mrs. Zaragoza heaved a sigh and that was all Nicole felt tears pricked her eyes as she watched the sad scene.

“Romina,” Nicole called her attention to her dead mother. “Is the ambulance on the way?” She asked as she was oblivious to what had happened.

“It’s late,” she replied and closed Mrs. Zaragoza’s eyes with her hand

“Why did you do that? She is alive, she is fine! She can’t leave me yet, I won’t let her,” Romina ranted as she hugged her mom to herself.

“I love this scene,” Neil smiled and pointed the gvn at Romina, Iris turned him around, and he ended up sh®oting her.

The bvllet h!t her thigh, she fell under his arm with a shriek. Neil’s eyes widened, and he dropped the gun, his eyes were watery immediately.

“Why did you do that?!” He inquired in rage. “I hate her, but I think we have caused her enough pa!n, I don’t want her death she was once my friend,” she uttered as tears slipped out of her eyes.

“You didn’t have to do this,” he scolded, and she smiled weakly.

“Wake up mommy, open your eyes,” Romina cried, hugging her mother tighter.

She squealed and shook Zoey then Mrs. Zaragoza, but they were gone and nothing could bring them back.

Neil hugged Iris who already lost consciousness too, he hurt the love of his life.

How could he be careless? He thought he was going to make Romina cry, but he ended up hurting himself in the process.

“Romina!” Elias and Steve $cream in unison as they rushed into the mansion.

Romina only cried as she hugged her mom, whispering into her ear.

“Wake up mom.”

Elias moved closer and knelt beside her, Romina glanced at him.

Her lips shook as she talked. “Help me, help my mom she is dying. Do something, wake her up.”

Elias checked her pulse and shook his head sideways, Romina understood what he meant, but that was not the response she wants.

“Tell her to open her fr.eaking eyes!” She screamed and Elias hugged her.

“Elias, help my mom again. Please, help her,” she pleaded as her heart heaved with all sorts of emotion.

“Elias, save my mom,” she pleaded before losing consciousness.

“Call ambulance the police will soon be here,” Steve told Nicole after he was done checking Zoey, but she was ruined beyond repair.

“Alright,” Nicole replied, Steve stared around, and his eyes caught unconscious Nanny Gloria.

“Nanny!” He screamed as he rushed to her, he rested her head on his lap and checked her pulse.

She was barely breathing, he sighed worriedly and stared around.

Mrs. Zaragoza was lying dead, Zoey was destroyed, Iris was bleeding and unconscious, and Romina was unconscious too.

Steve turned to Nanny Gloria, and he closed his eyes as his heart hurt.

He thought he would have been able to help if they were there earlier, or things would have been different if he was able to stop Romina.

The ambulance and police arrived at the same time, and Neil was arrested

“I want to stay with Iris! Please let me stay with my girlfriend!” He screamed as he was dragged away by the police.

Romina, nanny Gloria, and Iris were taken to the hospital first, and Mrs. Zaragoza was taken to the morgue.

Steve took Zoey to RGC, he went to the hospital afterward.

He met Elias and Nicole sitting on the steel bench, he sat beside Nicole.

“How are they?” Steve asked. “Romina and nanny Gloria are in the emergency room, and Iris is in surgery,” Nicole replied

“Elias,” Steve called, and he turned to her. “Are you alright?” He asked.

“Yeah,” he replied simply. “She is going to be fine,” Nicole assured.

“Where is my daughter?!” Nora asked as she rushed towards them.

“She is in surgery, the doctor is yet to come out,” Steve replied since Elias was too distraught to do so.

The doctor walked out of the OR immediately with a sour expression.
