Mike’s POV

{FLASHBACK ENDED}
{A MONTH AFTER}
.
I tried opening my eyes but I find it difficult to do so because they were so heavy.
I tried it more harder and my eyes opened and the brightness of the day almost made me blind.
I noticed the place I am was strange and weird because I don’t recognize this place at all.
I don’t remember coming here and there are trees everywhere and I wondered how I got here.
I noticed my body were bandaged and I could feel some pain from there and I don’t see anyone around to ask what happened.
I managed to stand up and the pain intensify which cause me to groaned out in pain.
” Aaaahhhh” I groaned breathing heavily then some flashes of event started rushing back in.
I remembered Tony who I considered to be my best friend shooting me till I lost consciousness.
I can’t believe he can do this to me along with his father, the man I considered to be my second father.
They both betrayed me and stabbed me in the back, they betrayed my trust, they punctured my heart.
” I promise you two, you won’t get away with this”
I tried moving again but the pain was so much so I sat back down then someone entered.
” Oh finally, you’re awake” an old man said as he entered.
” Who are you?….and how did I get here?” I asked.
” You need to calm down and rest, your wound is not completely healed” the old man said.
” Just answer my question, where is this place?…… how did I get here?” I asked curiously.
” You are in the village of Amrizu, Amopri brought you here for me to heal you” the man replied.
” Amo what??…. who is that?, Where is he?” I asked.
” You ask so many questions?….you are trouble, let me go inform him that you’re awake” the man said then he went out.
I started to think who could’ve brought me here to this place which I’ve never heard of before.

A while after the old man entered along with the man and the face turned out to be a face I recognized.
” You?” I said in disbelief.
” I’m glad you’re awake, you had me worried for some time” He said.
I was glaring at him dumbly still couldn’t believe he will be the one to save me, he’s the last person I could think of.
I mean even though I saved him from my father…..I never imagine him to be the one to rescue me.
” How are you feeling?” He asked smiling at me.
” Like, i feel like I’ve been hit with a trailer” I replied.
” Don’t worry, you will regain your strength very soon” he said.
” What exactly happened?……I can’t picture everything clearly” I asked.
” Remember you gave me an assignment to help you find who Peruzad is and his whereabout” he reminded.
” Yeah I do” I replied.
” I sent word to few of my men to help with the search, ”
” I got some location about places he has been or where his men were and I work my way in”
” I chatted with some of Peruzad’s men and I got the location of where he’s going to be Next”
” I was calling your phone but you aren’t picking up so I decided to check out the location and know who the Peruzad is”
” But when I got there I was already late, as I saw a man shooting you continuously on the chest”
” I hate myself at that moment that I was late and I was unable to prevent what just happened to you ”
” Soon after I saw them putting you in the car Booth and drove off”
” I decided to follow them to know where they are taking your body, maybe if I can give you a proper burial because you deserved it”
” I followed the car and soon they stopped on the bridge and I was wondering what they are doing”
” They came out of the car and took your body out of the booth and throw you into the river”
” Just as I was about to jump into the river to take your body, I saw the huge guy killing the two men with him”
” He threw their dead bodies into the river as well and clean all the trace, he entered the car and drove off”
” I jumped into the river and look for your body and pull you out out of the water but I noticed something weird”
” As I was carrying your body….I noticed you’re warm which got me curious and I checked your pulse and noticed you still have a pulse”
” I couldn’t believe it that you could still be alive, so i opened your shirt and noticed you’re putting on a bulletproof”
” I understand the bullet proof part but how could you still be alive even when you’re unconscious underwater?” He said confusedly.
” My watch”
I remembered my dad giving me a watch with that same qualities then I touched my arm and couldn’t find it.
” Where’s my watch?” I asked turning to him.
” I had to pull it off while you’re being treated” he replied then went to open a cupboard and bring out my watch.
” Here” he handed it over to me.
” I still can’t believe you saved me……thank you” I said.
” You don’t have to thank me”
” What I did was nothing compared to what you did for me”
” Because of you I could spend enough time with my daughter without the fear of Peruzad
You saved my family”
” I owe you alot and I’ll be forever grateful to you ” he said.
” Anyways Thank you….. I’m grateful”
” Please tell me you know where they are?” I asked.
” I don’t know, since that day I haven’t seen any of them” he replied.
” You mean since last night?” I asked.
” Last night?….what are you saying?” He asked looking at me weirdly.
” Hold on, how many hours have I been asleep?” I asked.
” I don’t know the hours, but it’s been four months” he said and my eyes bulged out in shock.
” Whatt!!” I shouted.
” Four months?, I’ve been asleep for four months?” I asked surprised.
” Yes, I had to bring you here to my village for you to be treated also to protect you from Peruzad” he said.
” Oh God, Peruzad is planning something very bad……the country is in danger” I said.
” There hasn’t been any bad news in the city since that day, none of them is around” he replied.
” Has there been any bomb blast anywhere?” I asked.
” Just one and that was last month, An army base was blown up killing about 50 soldiers, but that wasn’t in our city” he said.
” That was him at work, he’s going after the military one after the order, he’s not done yet…. he’s going from city to city” Mike said then the man’s phone started ringing.
? ” Hello” he answered.
? ” Yes go on….. what’s up?”
? ” Whaat!!”
? ” Oh Dmn……”
” What happened?” I asked as he dropped.
” You’re right, A police station in the next city just got blown up” he announced.
” He’s started already……he still has enough bomb to go round……we need to find him quickly” I said.
” But how?, Since that night…..they both became a ghost…..I sent my men to search for them but they can’t find them” he said.
” What about his bodyguard?, The huge guy?…….we can use him to find them” I suggested.
” Peruzad clean him up” he replied and I furrowed my brow.
” What do you mean by that?” I asked.
” I guess Peruzad was trying to clear his trace so he had him killed, it’s seem they are making a run for it” he said.
” Why would he run?……who is he running from?” I asked.
” I don’t know……but since then I’ve never seen any of them anywhere” he replied.
” So we have nothing, no trace?” I asked.
” No we don’t, I’m sorry” he replied.
” I can’t stay here……I have to go right now” I said standing up, trying to bear with the pain.
” You can’t leave yet, you still haven’t healed up…….you need rest, even though you put on a bulletproof…..two of your ribs are broken” he said.
” I can’t just stay here and do nothing while he’s terrorising the country…….I need to do something” I said.
” In other for you to do anything, you need to heal up first and regain your strength” he said.
” It doesn’t matter, get my a new cloth and a loaded gun…..I need to kill someone”
