ADAMS BUILDING AND DESIGN COMPANY
It was a beautiful morning and the graduates were in Adams office waiting to be approved by Adams and given their distinctive duties.
Few minutes later,Adams walked in looking as dashing as ever. He wore a black suit with black shoes and his hair was not bad either.
He sat on his chair after they had exchanged pleasantries
“I believe you all know why you’re here”
“Yes sir” They answered in unison
“Alright. I’m gonna see you all one on one okay?”
“Okay sir”
“You can go wait at the reception as I call you”
His eyes were on Annabel the whole time and she avoided his gaze
They went out to the reception and sat on the chair
He called them in one by one till it was remaining Alexa and Annabel
“Annie,I’m so nervous” Alexa said biting her fingers
“What for?”
“Don’t you know how intimidating Adams is? I’m nervous that I’ll be talking one on one with him”
Annabel laughs
Alexa was called and she went in leaving only Annabel there
Hailey walked up to Annabel
“Hello Ms. Smarty pants”Hailey said
“What do you want?” Annabel asked feeling irritated
She and Hailey never saw eye to eye. The reason being that,Hailey was jealous of how everyone loved Annabel.
She had been the best student in school but since Annabel came,all that was taken away from her
“Oh nothing. I just came to let you know that I’m watching you. You think I’m not aware of your affairs with Mr.Adams?”
“Excuse me?”
“Stop acting like an innocent puppy with me. It’s true and you know it”
“Hailey do you know you’re a trouble maker?” Annabel said
She laughs and walks away
Annabel clenched her fist
Few minutes later,she was called into Adams office.
She took a deep breath and entered
She sat on the chair facing him. Never in her life could she have imagined that she was going to be sitting face to face with this bossy man.
“Ms.Annabel”He called
“Yes sir” She couldn’t believe she’s calling him sir
“I’ve gone through your results and I’m aware you haven’t gone through any office work before instead you worked as a part time waitress”
She nodded
“So your job is that you’re gonna be my secretary”
“Your secretary?” She was surprised
“Yes”
“But,I studied civil engineering and not office management”
“I know that”
“Then why!”
“Cause I say so Annabel. So are you accepting the offer or not?” He was wishing she would say yes
Annabel sighed
Half bread is better than none
“Yes I’ll do it”
“Welcome to our company Ms.Annabel”Adams stretched his hand for a handshake
Annabel took the hand
“Work starts tomorrow”
“Tomorrow!!!”
“Yes young lady or do you have a problem with that too?” He liked the look on her face right now and was trying hard to suppress his laughter
“No sir”She answered
“You may go”
She stood up and left the office
Alexa ran up to her
“Tell me”
“I’m his secretary”
“Wow that’s awesome. You get to see him everyday”Alexa was happy
“Which is what I’m trying hard to avoid. I can’t put up with his attitude”
“I’d be happy if I were you. I’m an assistant manager though”
“Alexa that’s great”
“Yeah. Let’s go celebrate”
They left the building

CHARLOTTE’S HOUSE
The body guard she sent to find out about Mr.Kelvin’s whereabouts returned
“Any news?”She asked
“Yes. He went into royal bliss hotel and should be out any minute”
“Then let’s get going”She stood up and adjusted her dressing
She wore a black trouser with black leather jacket and dark sunglasses.
She held her gun firmly and turned to Bella
“Are you coming with us?”
“No I can’t stand the sight of blood”Bella replied
“Okay. Till I come back then” She rushed out and entered her car

Charlotte’s car stopped at the entrance to the hotel and they waited for him.
Minutes later,they saw him walking out with a lady. They entered his car and he drove off
“Follow him”She ordered and their car pursued his
They followed him and watched as he dropped the lady at her house.
When they were sure he was the only one in the car,Charlotte smiled
Mr.Kelvin sensed something was off. He looked at his side view mirror and saw that he was being followed
He stepped on the engine and increased his speed
Charlotte smirked
“Such a j.erk!!! Corner him”
Her driver drove past his car and blocked the way
Her bodyguards stepped down and dragged Mr.Kevin out of his car and made him kneel
Charlotte approached him with gentle strides
When Mr.Kelvin saw her,all the colors on his face drained
“Hello sweetheart”She said pecking her gun
They had dragged him into the bush close by
“Charlotte please I can explain” He said
“There is nothing to explain Mr.Kelvin. You see…I understand people like you and I appreciate how you used me but unfortunately your time on planet earth is up” She rubs the gun around his face
“Please I’m sorry. It wasn’t my fault. You see they didn’t give me her script. I tried to get it but my effort was futile” His body was already soaked in sweat
“Tell that to the devil”She cracked the gun
“Please…Charlotte…I’m begging you…We can sort this out”
“Too…late”
She pulled the trigger and gave him 3 bullets on the chest
She made sure he was dead before leaving

THE NEXT DAY…
5:00AM
Annabel was still sleeping when her phone rang
She looked at it and saw that it was Adams
She picked the call
?Hello Mr.Adams
She yawned
?You’re late
?What? This is 5 am sir
?Yeah
?But work starts 7am
?You need to come pick me up from my house
?I am your secretary not a chauffeur
?Hey lady,I’m your boss and what I say is what you’ll do
?But…
?10 minutes is all I give you
He hung up on her
Annabel groaned and threw the phone on the bed
“What have I gotten myself into?” She muttered and rushed to the bathroom
