Episode 31
“Adams why are you crying?”Annabel asked wearing a worried look
Adams was shocked and turned to her
“You’re alive?”He asked
“Of course I’m alive. I wasn’t dead”
Adams stared at her for sometime before hugging her
“Thank God you’re alive. Emily call the doctor”Adams couldn’t contain his joy as he hugged her
Annabel hugged him back. She has been through alot too. She didn’t even know she would still be alive
She felt something hot on her shoulders and patted his back
“Adams please stop crying”She patted his back
“You don’t know how much I missed you. I thought you were going to die”He said
“But I’m not dead now. See I’m alive”She continued patting his back
Seeing Adams shedding tears because of her made her feel loved. She realised that this rude and bossy CEO had his own weakness too.
People see that he is arrogant,rude,sharp tongued and bossy but they haven’t really gotten close to him to know that he has feelings too and can get hurt
“There There it’s okay Adams. I’m here for you”
“Promise never to leave me again”He said
“I promise”
The doctor cleared his throat to announce his presence and Adams quickly wiped his tears but the doctor has already seen everything.
Emily brought him few minutes ago and both witnessed the drama that this two lovebirds just displayed. Seeing the almighty CEO cry is something else.
“Can I check on her now?”The doctor asked
“Yes”Adams replied but didn’t pull away from the hug
“Mr Adams,it’ll be better if you stop hugging her so I can check on her”Doctor Joe said but Adams shook his head
He thought that if he leaves her,she may go again
“Stop being clingy and let them check her. I’m dying to hug her too you know”Emily folded her hands
“Adams please let the doctor check on me”Annabel tried pushing him away
He was hesitant for a while before leaving her
The doctor checked her
“Okay Mr Adams. She is fine and can go home now”
Emily ran and hugged her
“Thank goodness you’re fine Annie”
Annabel hugged the girl back. She loved Emily so much and appreciates her for all she did
“Thank you Emily. Thanks for being there for me all the time. I owe you a bunch”
“Don’t mention. The love I have for you is even stronger than the one Adams have”Emily said
“It’s a lie”Adams countered
“I love her more than you Adams”Emily faced him
“No I love her more than you”Adams said and the two started bickering at each other
Annabel and the doctor laughed at their childish act
The doctor shook Annabel and left
“It’s okay. Stop acting like children”
“She started it”Adams pouted
“I did not”Emily argued
They wanted to start again before Annabel stopped them
“Stop!!! You two love me the same way okay?”
They glared at each other before nodding their heads
She pulled them in for a hug
“Let’s go home”She said
Adams picked her up and carried her in a bridal style
“I can walk you know”She complained
“I know”
He took her to the car and they headed home

ADAMS HOUSE
Adams opened the door and brought her in
Everyone exclaimed and ran to her
No one has been able to sleep since she was unconscious
Alexa called Lisa and told her everything
“My baby,I’m so happy you’re alive”Natasha hugged her in tears
They all took turns to hug her before she sat down
Natasha poked Adams head
“Mum? What was that for?”He pouted
“For not calling me immediately she regained consciousness and for bringing her after 12 in the morning”She poked his head again
Richard brought out a champagne and popped it while they cheered
“Thanks for being alive Annabel”Richard said and she smiled
“It was all God’s doing and I thank Him for that”
They all thanked God and retired to their beds

THE NEXT DAY…
Adams took Annabel home. Immediately Mr Williams set his eyes in her,he jumped to his feet and hugged her passionately.
“My Sunshine,you’re okay”
Annabel hugged him back
“I missed you dad”
“I missed you more Sunshine”
He pulled from the hug and Lisa hugged her
“I’m so happy you’re alive Annie”Lisa said
“Me too”
Mr Williams turned to face Adams
“Thank you so much for looking out for my daughters. You,your friends and family have done a lot for us. Thank you so much”
“It was my pleasure sir”Adams replied and Mr Williams drew him in for a hug
Adams felt like all his worries were gone just with that hug
So this is how a Father’s hug feels like
After the whole hugging episode,Adams called Mr Williams outside the house for a brief discussion. They sat down on the chairs in the veranda
“Firstly,I would like to thank you for raising Annabel. She is the best and very independent” Adams said
Mr Williams nodded and he continued
“I want you to know that I love her with all my heart and would love to marry her”
Mr Williams smiled
“That’s a good plan Adams and I support you but she has to agree too for me to bless you both. I’m aware she loves you as much as you love her but it’s her decision if she wants to get married now”
“I thought of that and I have a plan”
“Really? Tell me”
Adams whispered something into his ears and he smiled widely
“That’s a wonderful plan. She’s gonna love it” Mr Williams was elated
God has finally looked down on him and his children
They talked for some time before Adams left the house
He was planning on going to the police station the next day

THE POLICE STATION
Adams walked in and at his request was directed to Charlotte’s cell
“I can’t stay in this dump Liana. It’s not good for my skin”Charlotte complained
“We’re in jail and all you care about is your skin?”Liana couldn’t believe it
“Look at my body. There are mosquitoes everywhere”She cried
“Well get use to it cause it’s your fault I’m here”Liana snapped
“What do you mean?”Charlotte frowned
“I’ve never been caught in my life since I started this job. But now I’m arrested and it’s all because of your stupid assignment”
“Did I force you into it? You had the choice to reject my offer but you didn’t because you were greedy”Charlotte glared at her
Liana slapped her
“Watch the way you talk to me bch else i won’t hesitate to kill you here and suffer the aftermath of it”Liana warned and Charlotte kept mute
She was aware of what Liana can do
She turned to her front and saw Adams
“Hello Charlotte. I can see they’ve treated your wounds”He looked at her bandaged legs
“Adams please take me away from here. This place is hell”Charlotte begged him
“Really? So you can beg?”Adams wasn’t surprised
Human beings can do anything to get what they want
“Yes I’m sorry for hurting Annabel. Please forgive me”
“I’ve forgiven you”Adams said
“Really? So you’re gonna take me away from here?”Charlotte mood lightened up
“No Charlotte. Every crime has a punishment”
Her countenance changed immediately
“Adams please I’ve changed”She cried
“A leopard can never change its spot”
She fell to the floor and starts crying
Adams stared at her
“Stop being dramatic. You’ll be in court in few days”
“You sued me?”She exclaimed
“I have to make sure you never come near Annabel again”
“This isn’t fair Adams”Charlotte complained
“That’s what you deserve”
He walked away after saying that
He had a dinner with Annabel and can’t afford to miss it.
The dinner is a special one
He’s finally going to propose to her. He was both excited and nervous
He went to his house and got dressed before picking her up

THE RESTAURANT….
They walked into the restaurant holding hands and got the VIP table
Their orders were taken and both started eating
Adams waited for the right time before starting his proposal process
“You look beautiful tonight”He said
“Thanks”She smiled
“Annabel,I want to tell you that I love you so much”
She stopped eating and started looking at him
What was he up to?
“I love everything about you. You were the first woman that made me think before talking. You kept me on my toes and your beauty charmed me. I want to spend the rest of my life with you”
Annabel felt tears well up in her eyes
His words were so heartwarming
Adams knelt on one knee and she gasped
Its finally happening
He brought out a silver ring case
He looked her in the eyes
“Annabel I love you…Will you marry me?”
