Episode 22
“Yes Annabel I love you. Please don’t do this to me. I can’t bear this anymore”
Annabel felt the urge to run into his arms right now but then her thoughts went back to Charlotte’s threats
“I’m sorry Adams but I don’t love you” She used every strength and courage in her to say this
“You don’t?”His heart was in turmoil right now
Anurnabel couldn’t bear to see him like this so she left
Adams was both heartbroken and confused. He was aware she liked him too but why did she reject his confession of love.
Charlotte must be behind this
He sat down and sighed. He wasn’t the type that drinks alcohol when he’s frustrated but today’s incident broke him
He ordered for 5 bottles of different alcoholic drinks and it was brought to him.
Manager Kim ran to his office when the waiter informed him about what Adams was about to do. He opened the door and saw Adams had finished one and is on the second one
“Mr. Adams please stop all these”
“Stay away from my life Kim”
“Excessive alcohol isn’t good for your health”
“Nothing is good so let’s just go with the flow”
He gulped down another bottle and his manager became scared. He took out his phone and called Richard
Luckily,Richard was in the company at that time and hurried up to Adams office. Immediately he entered the office,he exclaimed
“Adams what are you doing?!!!”He dragged the bottle from him
“Excuse us please”Richard said and manager Kim left the office shutting the door behind him
“Adams look at you. You’re a mess”
“That’s how my life is right now”He wanted to carry another one but Richard stopped him
“Stop all these. Since when did you start taking alcohol? Man up and let’s look for a way out”
“She said she didn’t love me. I love her. Why isn’t she in love with me”Adams said
“Adams,you of all people should know that Annabel didn’t reject you on her own accord. She loves you and for her to reject you means someone out there is threatening her and I know it’s no other person than Charlotte”
“I’ll make Charlotte pay for this”
“Doing that will put Annabel in more danger so let’s tread with caution”
“What do we do?”Adams asked feeling a little dizzy
“Adams you’re drunk and can’t think straight for now so we’ll figure something out tomorrow okay?”
He nodded and put his head on the table. He slept off later and Richard sat down watching him.

Annabel went to a corner and cried her heart out.
Why? Why must things go this way? She has waited for a long time to hear those three words from him and now that she finally heard it,she felt sad instead of happy. The pain is really tearing her apart
Can she still go back to him and fix everything? Will he take her back? What is she even thinking? Her father and Lisa,she doesn’t want anything to happen to them
What is she going to do?
She was still thinking when Hailey came to her
“Annabel what are you doing here? I thought you quit”Hailey smiled in satisfaction
Annabel wiped her face with her hands
“What do you want?”
“Nothing…Just came to congratulate you”
“It’s not needed Hailey now go away”Annabel snapped
“I’m not going anywhere Annie. I’m going to keep you company”
Annabel was irritated. She thought for a while…could Hailey be the person Charlotte has been using? Could she be the one telling Charlotte all that is happening
Annabel realized that Hailey was the eyes of Charlotte
“What are you thinking about?”
Annabel ignored her,stood up and left
Hailey smirked and took her phone. She dialed Charlotte’s number and the call went through
“Yes Charlotte. Mission Accomplished”

AMUSEMENT PARK
Lisa and Gideon were in their usual spot.
“Gideon can you please tell me about your relationship with Dylan?”Lisa asked and he smiled
“Okay sweetie. Anything for you”
She blushed and smiled
“Okay our story goes like this. My dad was a successful business man. He was amongst the top five billionaires in New York City and his oil business was blooming. He had a girlfriend who he broke up with a year before he met my mum. They fell in love and his ex-girlfriend who happens to be Dylan’s mother wasn’t happy about it”
Lisa paid keen attention
“They got married and immediately I was a year old,My dad ex girlfriend,Dylan’s mother came with a baby boy she claims belonged to my father. My dad had no option but to let her live with us. Her presence in the house caused a lot of trouble. Dylan grew to hate me cause I was the heir to my father’s empire and it caused a rift between us. We later found out through a DNA test that Dylan wasn’t my father’s son so my dad gave his mum a huge sum of money to start her own business and live our house. That’s all I can say for now”
“Woah,so he thinks you’re taking his inheritance away?”
“Yeah. He believes I and my mum plotted against them”Gideon said
“That’s so ridiculous. I can’t believe he’ll do a thing like that”Lisa said
“I’m not moved by his threats cause I know I’ll definitely get what belongs to me”
“Yeah”She puts her head on his shoulders

ADAMS HOUSE
Adams walked into his living room and Emily cane to welcome him
“Welcome bro.Adams. How was work today?”Emily asked smiling
“Work was fine”He replied sitting on the couch and smiled at her
Emily was a very smart girl. She knows when Adams is happy or sad so his smile cannot deceive her.
She went and sat down beside him
“You don’t look happy. What’s the matter?”She asked
“Nothing. I’m totally fine”He grinned
“Seriously? You think I’m buying that?”
“Yeah?”
“Bro. Adams did your girlfriend break up with you?”Emily asked
“What?”Adams was shocked
“It’s obvious”
“For christ sake you are 16 years old”Adams couldn’t believe this kid
“I know but if you want her back,I have a plan that’ll work”
Adams rolled his eyes
“Do you want my help or not?”
“Okay what do you have in mind?”Adams asked
“The best way to win her back and know if she loves you is to test her. Pretend to be on danger and she’ll get scared and reveal all her feelings to you”Emily explained
“Where did you learn all these?”
“I watch a lot of movies. So heed to my advice”She said
“How do I start?”
“Drive to the hospital then call Uncle Richard and explain our plan to him. He will call her and tell her you’re involved in an accident and have little time left. If she truly loves you,she’ll be at the hospital in no time. Make sure you put the doctor on game”
“Brilliant”Adams called Richard and explained everything to him before heading to the hospital.

Annabel was in her room working on her laptop. She needed to do something to take her mind off her problems.
Her phone rang and she ignored it. It kept ringing till she picked it up
?Hello Richard
?Annabel where are you now?
?I’m at home. You sound sad what’s the problem?
?Adams was involved in a terrible car accident and is in the hospital
The phone almost fell from her hands as her eyes widened in shock
?How did it happen? What…
?The doctor said he has little time left. He’ll die soon
Annabel felt everything around her freeze
?What is the name of the hospital?

Annabel drove her dad’s car into Graceland Hospital. She was led to Adams ward and shed tears when she saw him.
She rushed to the bed and knelt down
“Adams Adams can you hear me?”She touched him but he didn’t move
She shook him
“Adams please stay with me. Don’t leave me please. I’m sorry for all I said. It’s my fault please”She cried
Adams opened his eyes slowly
“Annabel is that you?”He asked pretending to be weak
“Yes it’s me”She sniffles and intertwined her hands with his
Adams was enjoying this. Although he feels bad seeing her cry
“Annabel I don’t have much time left”He coughs
“No you can’t leave me like this. I can’t imagine my life without you”
He coughs again this time harder to scare her and make her confess and it worked
“I love you Adams please don’t die”Annabel embraced him
“You what?”He asked again
He really wants to hear it again
“I love you. I love you so much Adams”
Adams was overjoyed
“I love you too”
After saying that he kssed her
Yup ? He kssed her
