Annabel eyes widened in shock. Isn’t he sick? Where did he get the strength to kss her? Unless…
Then it dawned on her. She pulled from the kss and glared at him. Adams knew he was in trouble now
“Adams”She called
“Yes?”He sat up on the hospital bed
“I can’t believe you tricked me”
Richard walked in
“And you…You were in it too right?”She faced Richard
“No I wasn’t. Adams forced me into lying to you”Richard lied and Annabel faced Adams
“What do you have to say for yourself mister”She put both hands on her waist
“Okay I’m sorry. I just wanted you back that’s all”Adams said lowering his head
“That’s all? Putting me through an emotional turmoil,do you know how many traffic laws I broke before getting here”She poked his forehead and Richard laughed
“Ouch Annabel,I already said I’m sorry and you’re beating me”He pouted
“You deserve something worse than beating for tricking me you cunning man”
Richard just sat down watching the drama and laughing
Adams just bent his head and Annabel calmed down
“Stand up”She ordered and he obeyed
She walked up to him and he moved back thinking she was going to knock him again
“Where are you going? I’m not gonna bite you”
“He’s scared”Richard said
“Scared? But he wasn’t scared of tricking me why is he scared now?” Annabel laughed
Adams was less worried now that she laughed. It means she has forgiven him
She put her two hands round his neck
“Don’t scare me like that next time okay?”
He nodded
“Now tell me how you’re gonna make it up to me”She teased him
Adams thought for a while
“How about I make you dinner?”He asked
“You can cook?”She asked
“Yeah”
“Okay then let’s go”
He removed the fake bandages from his head and hands and led her outside after giving Richard a thumbs up.
Emily’s plan worked. Adams was thinking of how to reward his cunning cousin now
Richard was happy for Adams. He finally found the woman who changed him for good.

ADAMS HOUSE
Annabel was the one that drove them home with her dad’s car. They got down and went into the house. Emily was busy on her phone when they entered.
She turned to their direction and the first person she saw was Annabel. She ran to them immediately
“Wow Bro. Adams is she the one?”Emily asked still looking at Annabel
“Yes”
“OMG she’s an angel”Emily was drooling
Annabel laughs
“Hey what’s your name?”Annabel asked
“Emily and I guess you’re Annabel”
“Yeah how did you know?”
“I have my ways”She smiled and dragged Annabel to the couch…Come and sit down I have a lot to tell you”
“Are you two ignoring me now?”Adams felt left out
“Go away”Emily snapped
“I should go away? Then I’m not cooking”Adams snapped back
“Don’t cook then. You’ll have to serve another punishment for tricking me”Annabel said
“It wasn’t even my idea. It was hers”He pointed at Emily
“But you carried it out and became the actor so it’s your fault”Annabel said and Adams became speechless
He walked into the kitchen and saw Maya and Rose
“Hey ladies go and rest. I’m the one cooking today”Adams said and both stared at him in shock
It’s been quite long since Adams cooked in that house
“Why are you looking at me like that?”He asked
“Sorry master but we were surprised cause you haven’t cooked in a while”Maya spoke up
“I know and I want to cook today so you can go now”He smiled and they were even more surprised
They curtsied and left. Stepping out of the kitchen,they saw Annabel and Emily discussing. They recognized Annabel right away.
Emily turned and saw them
“Aunt Maya,Aunt Rose come and see Bro. Adams girlfriend”Emily stood up and brought them to Annabel
Girlfriend? Now they understand why he was in a good mood today
“Hi”Annabel waved at them
“Good evening ma”They greeted in unison
Annabel laughed
“Call me Annabel please”She hugged them
They liked her. She was better than Charlotte who just orders them around
They sat down and talked like good friends till Adams was done cooking and had set the table
“Food is ready”He announced and they stood up and went to the dinning table
The aroma was pleasant to the nose and Annabel started salivating
They sat down and Adams invited Maya and Rose to the table
They were surprised but sat down anyway. Adams served all of them including Maya and Rose.
This woman has really changed Adams.Imagine a master serving his servants.
After dishing their food,he dished his and sat down. They prayed and everyone started eating
Annabel took a spoon of jollof rice into her mouth and her tongue tingled. It was delicious
“Is it okay”Adams asked her looking nervous
“Hmm…it’s not delicious. There’s too much salt,the seasonings are not enough. The rice is overcooked and it isn’t well stirred”She teased him
“Really?” He put a spoonful in his mouth and it burned his tongue. He quickly drank a cup of water and Annabel laughed
“Your food is delicious. You’re a great cook”
He glared at her
“So I burned my tongue for nothing?”
“Nope. It was to teach you a lesson” Annabel said and continued eating
Emily,Maya and Rose burst into laughter
“You ladies are just jealous of me”Adams said
“Seriously”Emily rolled her eyes
“No one’s jealous of you. I can cook way better than you”Annabel said
“Maya,Rose help me out here please”
“I support Annabel”Maya said
“Me too”Rose concurred
He turned to Emily
“Uh…huh don’t look at me”Emily said and turned to face her food
He pouted
“So you all are against me?”
“Yes”They all answered
They chatted happily and when they were done eating,Adams cleared the place and washed the plates before taking Annabel home.

THE NEXT DAY
ADAMS FAMILY HOUSE
Mr. Mark Eben Vegas,Charlotte’s father came to Adams father’s house to talk with him.
After they had exchanged pleasantries,Charlotte’s father went straight to the point.
“Henry,I have come here concerning the issue of Adams and Charlotte’s engagement”He said
“We’re working on that Mark”
“Actually,I want it canceled”
“What? Why?”Henry asked
“My daughter has become a pain in the ass. She’s no longer the girl I thought I raised in good conduct. She doesn’t deserve to marry Adams and I’m sure Adams will understand”
“She can change. You can’t cancel it”
“Henry,Adams doesn’t love my daughter. Why don’t you allow him take a girl of his choice? Marrying off our children for the sake of expanding our businesses without taking their feelings into consideration is selfishness and the highest level of wickedness. Their happiness should be our number one priority” Mark said
Adams father thought for a while
“I guess you’re right. I haven’t been a good father to Adams. I’ve been so focused on making more profits in my business that I pushed my son aside. I’ve made a big mistake”Henry bent his head
“It’s alright. There is still time to make amends. You can apologize to him”
“Yes I’ll do that. Thank you Mark”
“You’re welcome. You’re very lucky to have a son like Adams. As for my daughter Charlotte,the day she’ll be sent to jail I won’t bail her out”
“You’re her father remember”
Mark laughed
“She ceased to be my daughter the day she soaked her hand with some one else’s blood”He stood up
Henry was shocked by what he just heard but He didn’t questioned further
“Goodbye for now”Mark said and they shake hands.

CHARLOTTE’S PARENTS HOUSE
“How can dad do this to me mum?”Charlotte asked in anger
“Calm down”Her mum said
“Don’t tell me to calm down. He can’t just cancel my bethrotal to Adams just like that”
“We’ll find a way”
“This is all Annabel’s fault. Ever since she came into his life,everything has been such a mess. Adams belongs to me and no one else”
“Can you just sit let’s figure something out”
“Mum don’t tell me that. I can’t believe Bella will tell my dad I killed someone and slept with her boyfriend”
“But you did it”
“So? Look,if I don’t get Adams,I’m gonna set this city ablaze”Charlotte rushed out and her mum sighed

BELLA’S APARTMENT
Bella packed into a new house after staying in the hotel for a while. Her parents were travelers and aren’t always around which is why she moved in with Charlotte in the first place but now that Charlotte has betrayed her,she’ll make sure Charlotte pays.
She has succeeded in making Charlotte’s father cancel his appointment with Adams father and she’ll still do more.
She sat on her couch with a gun and sips her wine. She knew Charlotte will come for her after realizing she’s behind it so she was prepared.
Few minutes later…
Her door burst open and Charlotte walked in. Bella adjusted on the couch and hid her gun
“Hello Charlotte”She smiled
“I’m not here for pleasantries Bella. Tell me why you had to leak your mouth to my dad”
“You wanna know why? Cause you’re a bch”Bella snapped and used her left hand to hold her gun at her back
“What did you say?”
“You heard me Charlotte. Do you think I’ll forgive you after you slept with my boyfriend? Babe you’re wrong if you think that”
“Bella I never wanted to harm you but you’ve left me no choice”
Bella stood up and faced her
“I ain’t scared of you Charlotte. Bring it on”She held her gun
Charlotte looked at her in shock
“Bella you’ve changed”
“You’re the reason I changed Charlotte”
Charlotte put her hand on her handbag and brought out a knife
Bella moved back and pointed the gun at Charlotte’s head
Charlotte gasped
“Charlotte,you might be dangerous but I’m smart. I’m really prepared for you. Drop that knife”Bella ordered
“Come on Bella,let’s sort this out”Charlotte moved close and Bella cracked the gun
“One more step Charlotte and I’ll blow your head off”
