“Charlotte”
“The one and only. Welcome to your birthday party”Charlotte chuckled
“What do you want from me? Why are you doing all these?”Annabel asked with tearful eyes
This isn’t how she expected her birthday to be
“Simple questions with simple answers. What do I want from you? I want Adams,Secondly why am I doing all these? It’s because I hate you. I hate you to the bones Annabel”
“But I haven’t offended you in any way”
“You have offended me in diverse ways Annie. Up till now,I’m still wondering what Adams sees in a low life like you. You’re not even his class. You’re a nobody who threw herself at him pretending to love him when all you wanted was his money”
Annabel’s tears dropped
“Charlotte please just let me go. If my dad discover that I’m gone,his blood pressure will rise please”
Charlotte smirked
“Let it rise cause you’re going no where. Start saying your last prayer cause when I return from where I’m going now,you’re gonna die”
“Adams will find me Charlotte. This is your doom just watch and see” Annabel said and a slap landed on her cheeks
“Are you mad? Who are you to threaten me? This is an abandoned house in the woods. Who is ever going to find you here?”Charlotte laughs
“They’ll find me and I’m sure of that”Annabel wasn’t moved
“Soothe yourself then. Liana I’m going home now cause Adams will consider me as his first suspect and I need to be home to prove him wrong. Keep a close eye on her”
Liana nodded
Charlotte glared at Annabel before leaving. She quickly drove home and put on a casual wear.

BACK AT THE PARTY
Adams drove back to the venue for the party. Families were still around but acquittances were gone
“Were you able to get her?”Natasha asked almost in tears
“No mum. I lost them”Adams replied ruffling his hair
“Where’s the MC?”Alexa noticed his absence
That was when it dawned on Adams
Emily was right
“He is an accomplice. I warned you about him”Emily snapped
“I’m sorry I didn’t listen to you Emily and now that has put Annabel in danger”Adams felt tears threatening to slide down his cheeks but he held it in
Emily held her phone waiting for a signal from the tracker she put in the necklace she gave Annabel but nothing was coming
Lisa and Stephanie had taken Mr Williams home for the sake of his blood pressure while Adams dad went to make a report in the police station.
Gideon and Richard were around trying to track the car but all efforts came out futile.
Adams remembered someone and stormed into his car angrily
“Where is he going to?”Emily asked
“I think he’s going to Charlotte’s house”Gideon said
Emily rushed after him
“Can I come with you?”She asked him
She wanted to see Charlotte’s face
“No Emily. Just go home”
“But I want to help”
“No”
“Bro Adams listen to me. You can’t do this on your own. I know you’re hurt and angry, I am too but don’t let anger overshadow your sense of reasoning. Please let me help you”Emily begged
“Emily I…”He wanted to refuse but she cuts in
“I put a tracker on her”Emily said
“Are you serious? Get in the car. You’ll explain everything to me on the way”
Emily smiled excitedly and entered
Adams called Richard and asked him to take everyone home
“Now tell me how you did it”He said after he started driving
“You know the star necklace I made for her”
“Yeah”
“I inserted a tracker in it because I didn’t trust that MC and also in case she is kidnapped, we’ll be able to find her”
“That was really smart of you Emily”
She smiled
“Have you gotten any signal?”
“No not yet. It seems the place they took her to has no reception”
“Like in the woods?”Adams asked with his eyes on the road
“Yeah something like that”

CHARLOTTE’S HOUSE
They finally arrived and he pulled over
He knocked the gate and the gate was opened
He didn’t even bother to knock her door and threw it open
She was on the couch sipping from her wine. She turned to face him
“Hello Adams”She smiled
“Charlotte where is Annabel?”Adams asked trying to tame his anger
“Annabel? How am I supposed to know where she is? We were never friends and besides you are her fiance”She said rather mockingly
Emily observed her
So this is the Charlotte that has been troubling Annie huh?
Someone’s name is already in her blacklist. There’s no doubt Charlotte did it and she was going to make Charlotte pay even if it means killing her
“Annabel got kidnapped today”Adams snapped
“Oh really? Go find her then. Why are you coming to me?”
“Cause you’re capable of doing such a thing”
Charlotte laughed
“I want nothing to do with that lowlife”
Emily got angry
“Who are you calling a lowlife?”She asked
Charlotte looked at the girl and recognized her as Adams cousin
She had seen the girl and Adams couple of times playing and laughing while she’s being pushed away
The thought of it alone angered her the most
“What are you doing here you little brat?”Charlotte asked
Emily smirked and moved to where she was
She looked at Charlotte in the eyes
“I’m not a brat Charlotte and it’ll be good for you if you don’t say that again”
“Talk to me like that one more time and I’ll…”
Emily cut in
“And you’ll what! Oh you’ll kidnap me like you did to Annabel?”
“I have nothing to do with Annabel disappearance”
“Just so you know Charlotte,I know where you kept her. It’s in the woods right?”
Charlotte stiffened
How did she know that?
Emily noticed it and smiled
“Come on Bro Adams let’s go”She held Adams hands and they left the compound and entered the car.
Charlotte brought out her phone and called Liana telling her to change location and take Annabel to the City River.
She was determined to end Annabel’s life and that little brat isn’t going to stop her
BACK IN THE CAR
Adams was impressed with Emily’s bravery
“You’re really brave Emily”
“Thanks”
“But why did you tell her you know where Annabel is? Won’t that make her take Annabel elsewhere?”Adams asked
“Exactly my plan. Since I can’t get a signal from the woods, I’ll get it from somewhere else. So I did that so that Charlotte will take her away from there”
“Wow I’ve never thought of that”
“It’s love that caused it. Call the best policemen you know and tell them to get ready. Once I get a signal we are going to save her. We must save her today cause her birthday can’t end like this”
“Okay”Adams made the call before they arrived at his house

ADAMS APARTMENT
Adams and Emily entered and the people there rushed to them
“Where have you been?”His mum asked
“What did you find out?”Alexa asked
“Calm down guys. Emily has a plan”Adams said and they kept quiet so that they can hear her
Emily explained her plan to them and they nodded
Suddenly her phone dinged
“I’ve got a signal!!!”She exclaimed
“Really?”Adams went to her
She opened the phone and got the location
“I found her. They’ve taken her to the City River”Emily said
“That’s where we are going”Adams went inside and came out later with four guns
He gave one to Richard,gave one to Gideon and another one to Emily then kept one for himself
“Can Emily use a gun?”Alexa asked
“She’s the best. Her father is a renowned soldier so she has been practicing how to use gun from a tender age. She’s so good and never misses her target”Gideon explained
“Wow”Alexa exclaimed
Adams mum faced four of them
“I wish you the best of luck my children. May God take you there and bring you back safely with Annabel”
“Amen”They chorused and left
Lisa called and Alexa told her not to worry that they’ve gone to bring her
Adams called the police and ordered for five to follow them

THE CITY LAKE
Adams arrived at the venue the tracker took them. They hid in different places and surrounded the kidnappers waiting for the right time to strike
His heart ached when he saw how they tied Annabel to the chair. She was already weak and could faint soon.
They noticed that there were two men and a lady.
Later,they heard footsteps and saw Charlotte coming there with Ben-the fake MC. She held a gun and walked towards Annabel
She has decided to kill Annabel immediately before Adams find her
She lifted Annabel’s face up roughly
“Any last prayers”She asked
“I have none cause I’m not going to die today. Watch and see Charlotte,Adams will find me”Annabel said
“So you still have the courage to talk”Charlotte moved back and pointed the gun at her
“I hate you Charlotte. Killing me will put you in more trouble and you won’t get what you killed me for you wicked woman”Annabel was praying in her heart for God to just give her a birthday gift by saving her life
Charlotte chuckled
“I hate you too”She cracked the gun
Emily couldn’t take it anymore
She’ll make Charlotte regret this
“Last prayers Annie”Charlotte said and Annabel turned her face
“I have none”
“Okay then. Goodbye I hope we meet in your next world”
Suddenly two gunshots were heard…
