Chapter 42

As soon as we landed I switched on my phone and gave Joey Dan Hart’s phone number and the other information I had. I went to my most recent calls and selected Cole’s name.
“Hey Jada.” He sounded tired.

“Did you find anything?” I ask instantly.
“Yeah. I was just about to call you. Ivy visited a hospital a few weeks ago with the name Cassy Waters.” Cole says and I hum in acknowledgment.

“Guess you already know that. So I checked for the name Cassy Waters and found hundreds of them then star…”

“Get to the point Cole.” I say suddenly impatient.

“Forgot you’re always rude.” Cole laughs. “Okay so I found her.

Turns out that Ivy Armstrong was Cassy Waters step mother who died seven years ago. Murdered. Cassy left a month after her burial.” Cole explains making the wheels in my head turn.

“Anything else. What I want to know is where she is with my son Cole. Not her bIoody history.” I say my voice raising. I feel my phone being snatched away making me turn as fast as possible.

“Cole. It’s Jayden. Jada isn’t in her right mind right now so you can talk to me instead.” He says looking at me challengingly.

“Put it on speaker then.” I hiss after a short glaring match. Jayden smirks and continues talking on the phone.

I turn and see Joey talking on the phone too and I walk to him.

“Are they ready?” I ask him after he’s done. He nods. “Let’s go then.” I say and we both start walking towards the waiting SUV. Jayden gets in seconds after we do and soon we head off to the American Mafia HQs.

I look at the passing trees and then at the sky. “Oh Mother.” I suddenly say remembering how she’d comfort me after Ashton’s de.ath.

“You could always pray honey. It worked for me.” She had said and I looked at her ridiculously.

“Since when do you ‘Pray’? And who are you praying to anyway?” I had said laughing and she smiled.

“The brain tumor made me look at things in a different perspective.”

Suddenly her smile turned sad. “I’ve been to the hospital and there was this group of people like me who talked to me about God. They said how talking to him would make me feel better and lighter. It’s like writing down in your diary.”

She says as she moves closer and sits on my unmade bed. “I felt better in a way. Maybe you should try it too.”

She says then ksses my forehead. She stands and leaves my room. I didn’t even think about it. I wasn’t born into a religious family so my mother talking that way seemed absurd.

“Where here.” Jayden’s voice stops my thoughts. I look around and see that we’re passing through the gates after inspection.
“You’re zoning out a lot.” Jayden says and I nod.

“Yeah. It’s the stress I think.” I say as the car stops in front of the building with the torture cells. I was here last about six months ago. It seems like a long time ago.

“Let’s go deal with the bch.” Jayden says standing next to me. I give him a curt nod and place a hand on my flat tummy. Wait, there’s a barely noticeable bump.

‘I’ll find your brother baby.’ I think before I start walking into the building.

I feel Jayden stop before touching my hand. I stop and look at him in confusion. “What?” I ask.

It’s just that you told me that you’re pregnant and I know that this isn’t the time to talk about it but I need to know. Who’s is it?” He asks and I can see the conflict in his eyes.

“It’s not that I care and it won’t change the way I feel about you.” He adds quickly before I answer. I look at him as if studying him.

“We need to find Ryan first. We’ll talk about everything later.” I say when I suddenly think about my missing son. He nods but I can see he’s not satisfied with my answer. “Soon. Okay?” I ask and he nods before hugging me suddenly.

“I can see how you’re hurting and it’s ki lling me so much.” Jayden says hugging me tighter.
“Then let’s go and find out about the cause of my hurt.” I say and he releases me.

I see someone walking away with a suit. I look at Jayden who seems to be composing himself before a blank look appears on his face.

“Let’s go.” He says and we walk to the first door where we put our fingerprints. There a total of four doors.

Every person is kept according to their betrayal or crime against us. The more the doors the less the people who can access it.

I can access all four doors since I’m known for torturing and Jayden can only access the first two since he’s still considered a newbie.

Julia is kept in the second floor. We get into the sound proof where a beaten Julia is kept. She looks up when she hears the door and I immediately look away when I see the blue green eyes.

“Cousin.” Julia says cheerfully making me almost flinch. I have no family left. I’m alone.
“Alexis. Or should I say Julia?” I take the bait. I raise my eyes to meet hers. She has a black eye and some scars. She looks thinner too but I don’t comment.

“Where’s my son.” I ask calmly. Too calmly. Julia doesn’t say anything but looks to my side where Jayden is. She starts smirking before she lets out a laugh.

“You know what I just discovered?” Julia asks but no one answers. She continues talking anyway. “You and I are the same.” She says to me but her eyes are still on Jayden.

“No other family to go to after being betrayed, we both changed our names and lived secret lives, we both like the same type of men.” She says licking her cut lips. ”

Did you know that this hot man over here is a freak in bed?” She starts laughing. “He shows people how good and nice he is but behind closed doors, he’s a freak. A mon$ter.” Julia says making Jayden move towards her with a small knlfe.

“Where is Cassy Waters, Julia?” Jayden asks his voice low and dangerous. He places the knife on her thigh and breaks the skin. Julia lets out a painful gasp but laughs. Though I can tell it’s in pain.

“Now, there’s the Jayden that I know.” Julia taunts and Jayden twists the knfe making her scream.

“You have one more chance to answer the dmn question.” Jayden says twisting the knlfe once again.

“Where is Ryan?” He asks but Julia only grunts in pain. I look at the t®rture devices and take another one.

“Julia. We’ll make it easy on you if you tell us where my son is or you can still choose the hard way. One thing I know is that we’ll still get the answer.”

I say soothingly but Julia spits on my face. I let out a sigh suddenly irritated.
“The hard way it is.” I say switching on the hand drill. “Jayden. Could you prepare the saline water for me.

I need it to feel the holes I’m going to make.” I say in a cool voice making Jayden smirk as Julia lets out an audible gasp.

“Now, where do I start with, Cousin?” I ask with a cold smile as I see the fear pass through her eyes.
