CHAPTER 42

PRIMESTONE ELEMENTARY

Valerie was done with her shoot so she decided to come pick Leo from his school.

Currently, she was standing outside Leo’s classroom, waiting for him to step out, other children were already coming out.

Leo walked out of the class looking sullen. Valerie smiled seeing him.

“Leo!” She called and Leo turned to her direction on hearing his name. He began walking to her and she smiled but the smile slowly faded away when Leo walked past her.

“Huh?” She rushed to him.

“Hey!” She called, holding his hand.

“Let go of me. Where’s Mister Kian?” He asked, squinting his eyes around.

“Mister Kian isn’t coming to pick you today. I will, so come let’s go.” She said and he rolled his eyes.

“Then I’ll wait for him, I’m not going with you.” He said and Valerie looked at him.

“Really??” She asked.

Leo didn’t reply, he only crosses his arms on his chest and went to sit on a chair, waiting for Kian.

Really??

Valerie walked to him and sat beside him.

“Why do you look sad? Did you get into a fight with someone in school?” She asked but he didn’t reply and Valerie pressed her lips in.

This is gonna be difficult.

“What happened? I promise to help you with it.” She said.

“Just go away.” He said after a short silence and her eyes widened.

Those three words were enough to break her heart. He was really pushing her away, her son was really pushing her away.

“Leo?”

“Don’t make a promise you can’t keep.” He said.

“So leave.” He added and Valerie chuckled lowly.

“Leo…” She called.

“Who made you a promise?” She asked but Leo didn’t reply.

“I’m not like the others Leo, I promise to fulfill my own promise.” She said to him, still no reply.

“Oh my gawd, what do I do to proof to you that I’m not like them?” She asked, touching her forehead.

She stood up holding his hand. “Come with me.”

“Where are we going?” Leo asked.

“You’ll find out soon.” She said, pulling him.

AMUSEMENT PARK

Leo eyes widened in amazement as he stared at the amusement park. He has never been to it before. All his life has just been from home to school and from school back home.

If he had any other place to visit, it was his granny’s place and the only place his granny takes him to, is the shopping mall, boutique and restaurant.

He has always heard his classmates and friends talk about amusement parks and how fun it was but he has never been here. It’s his first and the feeling was unfathomable for him.

“Leo! Here!” Valerie said rushing back with two cotton candies.

Leo’s eyes shone seeing it and she smiled.

“Which do you want?” She asked and he chose the yellow one. She gave it to him while she took the green.

“You like it here?” She asked him as they walked, while eating the cotton candy.

“Yes.” She nodded and Valerie smiled.

“Come, let’s ride in that rollercoaster.” She said pointing at

“I’m scared of heights.” He said and Valerie chuckled.

“Really??” She asked him and he nodded.

“It’s super fun. You shouldn’t be scared.” She said to him and Leo stared at her.
