Lucas was invited to Jayden’s house for dinner, but he couldn’t reject Maya’s offer, They all sat down to eat like one big happy family including Diana. Jayden and Lucas were staring awkwardly at each other
“Hope you like the meal?”. Maya asked smiling.
” Yes, did you make this?”.Lucas asked.
“No, the girls did”. she replied.
” Wow, it tastes nice, but I can’t wait to have a taste of your food, though”. He said and Jayden scoffed.
“Does she look like your maid?”. Jayden asked rudely and Maya turned to him.
” Jayden”. Maya called for him not to talk like that.
“Why are you so bothered? Is it a crime to taste my sister’s food?”. Lucas asked smiling.
” You–“.Jayden got interrupted.
“Jayden, please!”. Maya said.
They continue eating and chatting in peace except who keeps giving Lucas a deadly look. The dinner ended and they came to the living room chatting and diluting with some fruit juice.
” The dinner was amazing, am happy”. Lucas said.
“I am glad you could make it, hope to do this some other time”. Maya said.
” No!”. Jayden said quickly and they turned to him.”I mean”.he cleared his throat. “Hope so”. he said.
” I would love to”. Lucas said. and they smile at each other.

Later at night, Jayden was seated on the bed operating his phone while Maya came out of the bathroom with nightwear and moved to apply some lotion to her face
“Today dinner was quite amazing”. Maya said.
” Hmm-mm”. Jayden said nonchalantly.
Maya sighed and moved to join him on the bed.
“I know you weren’t cool with him at the dining earlier”.
” Yeah, I am only tolerating his presence because he is your brother”. Jayden said.
“Lucas is not as bad as you think”.
” Easy for you to say”. He said.
“Remember he is the reason why I am alive today”. She said and Jayden rolled his eyes.
” Yeah right”.
“So, you two should let the past behind you”. She lay down backing him and covered herself with the blanket.” Good night”.
Jayden smiled at her and continued with his phone.
“I love you”. he said.

The next morning, Maya woke up a little bit late, she yawned and noticed there were a little changes in the room as balloons were used as a decoration in the room. one side of the bed was decorated with red Roses and she noticed the floor was decorated as well.
” What’s going on?”She wondered and stood up from the bed, she scanned around the room looking beautiful. She gasped as her eyes caught sight of a banner on the wall of the bed that was a write-up saying; WILL YOU MARRY ME?
Jayden came out of the bathroom quietly and was kneeling behind her with one leg pointing a ring with an oval diamond that was set on a thin gold band which was a customized ring from the Paris Jewellers.
“Maya”. He called and Maya turned surprised to see him kneeling. ” What do you say? You will do me the honor of marrying me and making me the happiest man on earth?”. He asked smiling. Tears crawl out of Maya’s eyes.
“Yes! Yes! Yes Jayden I will marry you”. She replied excitedly. Jayden slipped the ring onto her finger and hugged her tightly to himself.
” Thank you, Maya, I love you so much”. He pulled away from her and kissed her lips passionately, Maya responded by caressing his hair.
Later in the day, Mia came over after Maya called to inform her of the good news, they were chatting by the poolside including Diana.
“Am so happy for you”. Mia said.
” Yeah”. Maya smile
“I can’t believe all these are happening, so, very soon, I will become the chief bridesmaid”. Mia said happily and then they noticed Diana’s sad mood.
” What’s wrong Diana? You look sad”. Maya asked.
“I am sad because I won’t be alive to see your big day”. Diana said as a tip of tears crawled down from her eyes.
Maya and Mia moved to sit next to her caressing her hands.
” Why will you say that? Of course, you are going to see Maya’s big day”.Mia said.
“But how? I might die before then”. She sobs.
” Stop saying that Diana, you are not dying, you will be among my bridesmaids”. Maya said and they hugged her warm-heartedly
The news spread within the family about Jayden’s engagement with Maya. Mr. Williams and his wife decided to throw a party for their engagement, a lot of guests were invited including Lucas who was invited by Maya.
Everyone was having fun, chatting with one another with the waiter and waitress attending to every one of them. Jayden and Maya were welcoming the guests as they kept congratulating the both of them.
“Wow, this party is a boom”. Lisa said.
” Yeah, is so amazing and everything is becoming peaceful”. Mrs. Williams said.
“I can’t wait for the marriage ceremony”. Mr. Williams said.
” Me too”.Ella said and they smiled.
Some minutes later, Mia and Maya were discussing and chilling with their wines.
“You can’t be serious”. Mia said laughing at Maya’s jokes.
” But I am right though, but nevertheless, how is it going between you and Ryan?”.
“We are doing great”. She replied.
” Really? So, when are you two going to spice up your relationship?”.Maya asked.
“What do you mean?”.
” You know what I mean Mia, you guys have been together for six months now or more if I am not mistaken, So, you two need to get down with it, or have you?”.
“What? No, no,”. Mia said shyly.
” What are you waiting for then?”.
Mia sighs tiredly
“Actually, there is a day I almost throw caution to the wind”.
” Meaning, you guys almost did it?”.
“Not really, I was confused and sad about your death and Ryan was always there to cheer me up, but one day at the clubhouse, he sent for me and went to his private lounge”. She sighs.” Gosh, heaven helped that day that I didn’t strip him of his clothes”. She said and Maya chuckled.
“Why?”.
” Damn! he was so hot to resist and his touches were hypothesizing, but he immediately stopped me if not, you would have heard I raped him”. She said
Maya burst into laughter.
“Are you kidding me?”.
” Yeah, since then I have been avoiding him a little, giving an excuse not to see him whenever he asks me out”.
“What? Come on Mia, why will you do that?”.
” Because I was embarrassed, I shouldn’t have made the first move”.
“But that is not enough excuse to push him away, he probably doesn’t want to rush it, Ryan is a cool guy”. Maya said.
” I know that’s why I am pleased to have him, he is every woman’s dream”.
“And you are every man’s dream, you both got lucky to have each other”. She said and they smiled at each other
Lucas came over.
” Hello, ladies “. He said smiling.” Am I interrupting the discussion?”.
“Not at all”. Mia said.
“Ok, can I get the honor of having a dance with my pretty sister?”.
” Sure”. Maya took her hand and they left for the stage dancing.
Everyone was smiling at them as they were dancing beautifully including Jayden. Soon some guests join them on the dance floor with their partners
“You look beautiful tonight”. Lucas said.
” Thank you, am glad you came”.
“How can I refuse such an offer from you”. He said.
” Thanks”. They smiled at each other.”Um, actually, there is something I want to ask you”.
“What could that be?”.
” Um, why I was still in a coma, Mia told me you threatened to take me away from jayden”. She said and Lucas laughed.
“Yes I did, I was only playing a trick on him, I can’t take you away when I know how much you two love each other”. He said.
“Does this mean you can reconcile with the family?”.
” I don’t think so, the Williams and I have come a long way in the underworld, so, reconciling with them will be difficult”.
“But I am part of the family and I am getting married to Jayden soon”.
” I know, I am not letting my hatred for them come in between you and Jayden”.
“Then, why not settle with them, and let’s be one happy family, you are the only brother I have, and you are going to be presenting me to Jayden at the alter that day, but I don’t think I will be happy knowing fully well you two can’t stand each other”. Maya said sadly.
” I understand, but I will try to be calm”.
“Really?”.
” Yeah, anything for my baby sister”. They smile at each other and they hug warmly.
“This is the second time I have seen Maya so happy”. Ma Lucy said
” Really?”. Theo asked.
“Yes, she is happy she is not alone in this world and that she has a brother”. Ma.lucy said.
” Who will ever think that”. Mia said.
“But I still hope Lucas reconciles with the family”.Lisa said.
” That will be a Jayden duty to handle”. Diana said as she held Hayden gently on her shoulder.
“Only Maya can make those two reconcile”. Mia said.
” Hope so”. Theo said.
“I will go put the baby to sleep”. Diana said and walked away.
Lucas and Maya ended their dance and they bowed to each other.
” Let me take you to your man if he kills me with his eyes”. He teased as he took Maya to Jayden. “She is all yours”. He said to Jayden and he left to say hello to his friends.
” You wanna have a dance with me?”.Maya asked smiling at him.
“No, but I want something more than a dance”. he smirk.
” What?”. She asked confusedly, but she was caught off guard as Jayden lifted her with one hand to himself and walked away, everyone in the party stared after them smiling .
