A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 111 – 120

RELOCATION TO NEW YORK 1

SELENE CRIED.

“Why won’t you let me go?” I whispered, my voice cracking. “You have everything. My soul, my life… why isn’t that enough?”

His eyes softened for a brief moment, just enough for me to catch a glimpse of something human behind them, a flicker that disappeared as quickly as it came.

He leaned closer, his hand moving to cup my cheek, and for a brief, agonizing second, I thought I saw pity.

“Because you made a deal,” he said, his voice softer but no less chilling. “And there’s no escaping a deal with the devil.”

I tried to pull away, but he held me there, his gaze locking me in place. The energy was draining from me faster, the edges of my consciousness slipping, but he wouldn’t let me go.

His hand left my cheek, moving down to press over my wrist, and I felt a sudden rush of warmth—a burning heat that made me gasp.

The pain in my wrist dulled, replaced by a strange, tingling warmth as my skin slowly knitted back together, the wound sealing before my eyes.

I watched, horrified, as he took away my only escape, undoing the one choice I’d thought was mine.

“You don’t get to die, Selene,” he said, his voice a whisper. “Not until I say so.”

Anger flared up inside me, sharper than anything I’d felt before. “You can’t just—just take everything from me!” My voice was raw, broken. “I’d rather be in hell than stay here with you!”

He only smirked, a dark satisfaction in his eyes. “Careful, darling. You might just get your wish someday.” He stood up, pulling me up with him, his hands holding me in place. I was weak, barely able to stand, but his grip was firm, unrelenting.

For a moment, I thought he might let me go, might leave me here to wallow in my own despair, but instead, he leaned in close, his lips brushing against my ear.

“You belong to me, Selene,” he whispered. “There’s no place you can hide, no escape you can find that I won’t reach. Remember that.”

I lost consciousness immediately.

Picked For You:  SISTER'S BETRAYAL: Episode 1-10

I blinked awake, my eyes adjusting to the soft glow filtering into the room. For a moment, I didn’t move, just taking in the quiet. I couldn’t believe it.

I was still here… still alive. A mix of relief and dread settled in my chest. Slowly, I looked down, catching sight of my wrists, completely healed.

Leaning back, I exhaled, feeling the weight of exhaustion press down on me. “How long have I been out?” I whispered to the empty room, as if expecting an answer.

The door creaked open, and Lucien stepped inside. His expression was unreadable as he glanced over me. “You’re awake?” he asked, sounding more like an observation than a question.

I stared at him, barely able to summon the energy to respond. After everything I’d been through… I wasn’t sure I had anything left to say. “How long was I unconscious?”

“Three days.” He pulled a chair close to the bed and sat, casually peeling an orange, seemingly unbothered. “How are you feeling?”

I watched him, unable to muster any enthusiasm. “Why are you here?”

He didn’t even look up, just continued peeling. “Stopping you from killing yourself?”

“I’m not going to kill myself,” I muttered.

“Can’t be so sure.” He smirked, taking a slice of orange and popping it in his mouth. “You’ve still got that look—no emotion in your eyes.”

A wave of anger sparked in me. “Because Lucifer made me feel this way!”

Lucien raised an eyebrow, unfazed. “Understandable.” He leaned back, taking another slice of orange. “How are you feeling after Liam’s death?”

I froze, studying his face. Did he really not know? Or was Lucifer just playing another game with me? “He’s alive.”

Lucien gave a small, dismissive shrug. “Oh, I highly doubt that.”

“What do you mean?” I demanded, but he only shrugged again. “Where is Lucifer?”

“Eating.” Lucien smirked. “He doesn’t miss his dinner.”

My fists clenched. “What a bastard.”

“Watch your mouth, young lady.” He sounded amused, but I ignored the warning. Just then, I heard footsteps echoing in the hallway, closing in. My eyes darted toward the door, then back to Lucien.
