A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 181 – 190

I swallowed hard, feeling a rush of frustration. “I’m just trying to have a conversation, Lucifer.”

He paused, finally looking at me again. There was a flicker of something in his eyes—annoyance, perhaps?—but it was gone before I could identify it. “I’m not in the mood for small talk, Selene.”

I bit my lip, trying to suppress the wave of disappointment. “I get that. But we can’t just sit here in silence forever.”

He exhaled slowly, setting down his fork. “What do you want from me?”

“I just want to talk. Is that so wrong?” I asked, my voice softening.

He leaned back in his chair, studying me with those intense eyes. “What do you want to talk about?”

“Anything,” I replied, feeling a surge of hope. “We could talk about last night, or the weather, or even what you plan to do today.”

He shook his head slightly, a hint of a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. “The weather? Really?”

He raised an eyebrow, almost challenging me. “What do you think there is?”

“I think there’s depth,” I said, leaning forward. “There’s passion, desire, pain. You’re not just the Devil; you’re a person with feelings.”

“Feelings can be a weakness,” he countered, his gaze intense.

“Maybe,” I said, feeling emboldened. “But they can also make you stronger. They connect you to others.”

He watched me for a long moment, and I could see the wheels turning in his mind. “You think you know me, don’t you?”

“I want to,” I replied earnestly. “I want to understand you, Lucifer. You’re not just a title; you’re so much more.”

“Understanding huh” he warned, his tone darkening again.

“Maybe,” I admitted.

He sighed, running a hand through his hair, and I could see the tension in his shoulders. “just eat your food selene ”
