A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 241 – THE END

I opened my eyes, fury and sorrow intertwining within me. “I can’t live in Hell without her. You know that. It’s torture.”

“Then you must find a way to make it work,” he said, the light around me shimmering as if in response to my turmoil. “You will have the opportunity to prove your devotion. The days you spend with her will be a test—a way to show your commitment.”

I stepped back, trying to process this new reality. “Five days a month… and then what? I’m to return to this prison while she lives her life?”

“Yes,” he confirmed. “You will have to navigate the complexities of your love from afar.”

“I understand,” I replied, my voice trembling. “I’ll do it. I’ll take the deal.”

“Very well,” he said, the light around me beginning to pulse. “Your sacrifice is noted, Lucifer. You shall have your wish. But remember, your sins can always be forgiven .”

As the blinding light enveloped me, I felt an overwhelming rush of emotions—relief, sorrow, hope, and fear all mingled together. I had made my choice, and now I would have to live with it

In an instant, the light faded, and I found myself back in the birthing room, the sterile scent of antiseptic filling my lungs.

I looked around, disoriented but aware that something had changed. The weight of the deal hung heavy in the air, and I could feel the shift in the atmosphere.

“Selene?” I called out, my heart racing. Had it worked? Would she be here with me again?

I rushed to her side, and there she was—her chest rising and falling in a gentle rhythm, life pulsing through her veins. The doctors were tending to her, but they can not see me.

Right now I should be in hell, not earth.

SELENE FROWNED.

I awoke slowly, the world around me hazy and unfocused. The sterile scent of antiseptic filled my nostrils, and I blinked against the harsh fluorescent lights above.

As my eyes adjusted, I took in my surroundings—white walls, medical equipment beeping softly, and the faint sound of voices in the distance.

Panic began to bubble within me as fragments of memory rushed back. I had been in labor… the pain, the struggle, the overwhelming fear. And then—nothing.

“Where is my child?” I whispered, my voice hoarse and trembling. The thought of my baby sent a wave of desperation crashing over me. I tried to sit up, but my body felt heavy, as if it were made of lead.

Just then, the door swung open, and a team of doctors rushed in. Their faces were a mixture of surprise and relief when they saw me awake. “Selene! You’re awake!” one of them exclaimed, his voice filled with urgency.

“Where is my baby?” I demanded, my heart racing. I needed to see my child. I needed to hold her.

“Just a moment,” the doctor said, moving quickly. I watched as they prepared something—a small bundle wrapped in soft fabric. My heart pounded in my chest as they approached me, their expressions a mix of joy and concern.

When the doctor finally handed me the small bundle, I felt a surge of emotions wash over me. I carefully unwrapped the fabric, and there she was—my daughter. Her tiny face was scrunched up, letting out soft cries that tugged at my heart.

Tears streamed down my cheeks as I cradled her close, overwhelmed by the reality of her existence. “Oh, my baby,” I whispered, the words barely escaping my lips. “You’re here. You’re really here.”
