A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 241 – THE END
I made my way out of hell to speak to the very bring that place me in this situation.
The air crackled with the energy of my thoughts, and as I wandered deeper into the inferno, I felt the familiar presence of my father looming nearby.
He was a force of nature, commanding and terrifying, and I knew that confronting him would be no easy feat.
“Lucifer,” his voice boomed, echoing through the abyss. The ground trembled beneath me as I turned to face him.
“Father,” I replied, my voice steady but laced with tension. “I need to speak with you.”
“What is it that you require?” he asked, his tone thick with condescension. “Have you come to lament your choices? To beg for my mercy?”
“No,” I shot back, my frustration bubbling to the surface. “I’ve come to discuss the deal I made for Selene’s life. I want to renegotiate.”
He arched an eyebrow, a hint of amusement flickering in his voice “You wish to change the terms? After all you’ve done to secure her return? How quaint.”
I clenched my fists, trying to suppress the anger that surged within me. “This isn’t a joke, Father. You know the pain I’m in. Five days is a mockery of what I need. I wish to be with her, to raise my daughter together. I’ll do anything.”
His laughter echoed around us, a sound that sent chills down my spine. “Anything? You seem to forget the nature of our kind, Lucifer.
Deals come with consequences, especially when one seeks to alter the balance of power.”
I took a deep breath, forcing myself to remain calm. “There must be a way to make this work. I know that love is a powerful force. Perhaps there’s a loophole in your own rules.
I could perform a service, undertake a quest—anything to prove my devotion to Selene”
For a moment, there was silence, and I could see the wheels turning in my father’s mind. “You wish to barter? To offer something in return?” His tone shifted“What do you have to offer that would entice me?”
“Let me return to the mortal realm,” I proposed, my heart pounding. “I’ll accept any task, any burden you deem necessary. Just allow me to be with them.”
“And what if I were to grant you this? What would you sacrifice in return? Your power? Your place here?”
I hesitated, weighing my options. “I would give up my autonomy, my title. I would be your servant, a mere shadow of my former self, if it meant keeping my family together.”
“Interesting,” he mused“You would willingly submit to a life of servitude? To live in my shadow once more?”
“Yes,” I replied, my voice unwavering. “If it means I can hold Selene,I would accept that fate.”
” Haven’t you heard how mercy I am ” his tone suddenly changed, more gentle ” it truly is wonderful to see how much you have grown, even learn to love”
” Huh” I remain shocked
” It’s a good sight to watch indeed ” I could not speak, I wanted questioning, ask what he meant but one word hit my head ( GOD IS A MERCIFUL FATHER)
And for the first time in my life, I was happy, I am his son.
The transition from Hell to the mortal realm was disorienting. One moment I was surrounded by the heat and chaos of hell and the next, I was standing in the cool night air, the stars twinkling above me like distant beacons of hope.
I took a deep breath, filling my lungs with the scent of earth and life. The world was vibrant and full of possibilities, but I had no time to waste. I needed to see selene and fast.
