A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 91 – 100

I was a devil, a monster to most, yet here she was, practically glowing under the moonlight, unafraid.

She glanced down, her voice a soft murmur. “You’re not what I expected. I thought you’d be… different.” she frown ” are you truly the devil?”

“Different? How so?” I asked, ignoring the other question.

“More… detached,” she replied, almost shyly. “I didn’t think you’d care enough to have conversations or…” She looked up, as if realizing she’d said too much. “It just surprises me.”

The temptation to toy with her, to deepen this intrigue of hers, was too strong to ignore. “What makes you think I care?”

Her mouth opened, then closed, as if she couldn’t quite decide how to respond. “I just… feel it, I suppose.”

“What do you feel, Selene?” I took a step closer, our proximity close enough now that I could see every freckle on her face, each little detail etched perfectly in the moonlight.

She looked up, and for a fleeting moment, I thought I saw a hint of vulnerability in her eyes before she laughed softly, her voice barely above a whisper. “You wouldn’t understand.”

“Try me,” I replied, my voice as smooth as silk. There was an unspoken challenge in my tone, one that I knew she could sense.

She sighed, a faint smile still lingering on her lips. “I feel like… I shouldn’t be talking to you. Like you’re pulling me into something I can’t pull myself out of.” Her eyes flicked up to meet mine, a hint of fear there. “And I can’t tell if it’s something I should be running from… or running toward.”

The honesty in her voice was unexpected, and for a moment, I found myself caught off-guard. But then, a spark of mischief returned to her eyes, and she asked, “What about you?”

“What about me?” I replied smoothly, masking any flicker of surprise her question might have caused.

She hesitated, her fingers curling around a loose tendril of her hair. “You seem like someone who enjoys playing games. Like you know exactly how to keep people guessing.”

My smirk deepened. “Perhaps I do. Or perhaps I just enjoy watching people wonder.”

She bit her lip again, her gaze dropping briefly before she looked back up, almost defiant. “And what do you wonder about, Lucifer?”

I didn’t answer immediately, letting the question hang in the air. Then, I leaned in just a fraction, my voice low and teasing. “I wonder what goes on in that mind of yours.”

Her eyes widened slightly, and I saw the hint of something… darker in her expression. Was it excitement? Nervousness? She quickly glanced away, but not before I caught the faintest trace of a smile.

We stood in silence, the moonlight casting shadows that danced across her face. She seemed happy, content even, her cheeks flushed and her eyes bright. It was a strange sight to see her so at ease. She looked… enamored.

Could it be? Was she actually starting to like me?

A new idea sparked in my mind, and before I could fully consider the consequences, I focused on her thoughts. I slipped past her mental barriers, letting her mind open to me.

What I found was more than surprising.

Images—no, fantasies—of her and me, entwined in ways both innocent and lewd. My hands in her hair, her lips trailing across my skin, her voice whispering my name in the dark… Her thoughts were practically drenched in desire.

I could feel her heartbeat racing, hear the steady pulse of her breath, the way she seemed to be fighting her own emotions.

I couldn’t help but to smile, I truly have her, right in my hands.

She looked at me, her brows knitting together in confusion. “What’s wrong?”she asked, then I realized how still I was standing.
