A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 91 – 100
I straightened, regaining my composure, the corner of my mouth curving into a smirk. “Nothing at all. I was just… taken aback.”
“By what?”
I kept my gaze on her, relishing the way her cheeks flushed as I let my gaze linger. “You’re more transparent than you realize, Selene.”
She swallowed, her confidence faltering. “What… what do you mean?”
I leaned down until my face was just inches from hers. “I mean, it seems you’re hiding more than you let on. You might even be hiding some… impure thoughts.”
Her eyes widened in shock, and I couldn’t resist a dark chuckle at her expense. She quickly looked away, her cheeks burning. “I—I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she stammered.
“Of course not.” I straightened, feigning innocence, though I knew full well the effect my words were having on her. “But be careful, Selene. Sometimes, even thoughts can be dangerous.”
She shifted uncomfortably, biting her lip as if trying to control herself, to silence whatever was raging inside her mind. Her hands clenched at her sides, and her voice came out as a whisper. “Why are you like this?”
I raised an eyebrow. “Like what?”
She shook her head, a mix of frustration and something deeper in her eyes. “Like you… want to ruin me.”
“Ruin you?” I allowed myself a laugh, the sound low and rich. “now why will I do that?.”
“Then what do you want?” she asked, her voice trembling with the weight of her question.
“Now that,” I said, reaching out to gently tilt her chin up, “is something you’ll have to find out for yourself.”
She swallowed, holding my gaze for a long moment before finally looking away, leaving me with one final thought.
The game had only just begun. And with the fire of desire already smoldering within her, I knew it wouldn’t be long before she was fully ensnared in my web.

SELENE FROWN.
I bit back a frustrated sigh as Lucifer’s words echoed in my mind. *Thoughts can be dangerous* The gall he had to imply that I had some kind of hidden agenda or that I could even understand what he meant.
Without looking back, I walked away, my footsteps soft but brisk as I navigated the dim hallways. He seemed to enjoy unsettling me, keeping me guessing.
It was maddening. I hadn’t done anything to warrant that kind of teasing… at least, not that I could remember.
What could he mean? My hands tightened into fists, how can I find out what he is thinking? Lucifer is always annoying.
As I rounded the corner, something strange prickled at the edge of my senses. A faint whisper, calling my name softly. It was familiar, comforting in a way that contrasted with the ominousness of the mansion.
It was Liam’s voice
“Liam?” I murmured under my breath, instinctively looking around.
But that was impossible. Liam couldn’t be here, and yet… The sound drifted through the hallways again, tugging at me, a faint warmth in the otherwise chilling silence. Curiosity tugged at my every step. Had it been him? Or was I just hearing things?
I followed the faint pull of the voice, searching as I turned a few corners, drawn deeper into the hallways, and then I saw it: a door slightly ajar, a thin strip of golden light spilling out into the dark hallway.
I glanced around, hesitant. Every instinct told me to turn back, but a strange curiosity kept me moving forward.
The door was small, almost hidden between the towering marble walls, and I felt a strange pull to step inside.
Gently pushing it open, I found myself stepping into a vast library. The sheer size of it took my breath away.
