A MISCHIEVOUS MATE BOND : CHAPTER 61 – 70

PRESENT TIME
NIGHT TIME

Kaidos and Ming were on their way back to the inn they lodged when suddenly a huge entourage of soldiers and General Lu leading them on his horse, with white lanterns on each soldier’s hands began walking past causing the whole villagers to stop and see who had actually died.

They were sure it was a royal that died since the general himself was the one paying respects but they didn’t know who died, so they began waiting and looking for the general and the soldiers to move closer because the closer they get, they’ll be able to see the name of the deceased written on the white lantern.

“Who died? Is it one of the Princes? Or the Oldie’s numerous concubines?”. Kaidos asked and Ming only looked in that direction.

Soon the general and his men drew nearer and instantly people’s eyes widened as they noticed the General was carrying a long flag with the Emperor’s logo on it.

“Am I seeing right?”

“No way!!”

“All legs to the ground and all heads bow as we pay our final respects to the late Emperor!!”

The general shouted loudly as they walked past the multitudes and everyone’s eyes widened as they instantly went on their knees, bowing with their heads on the ground as most people began crying loudly.

“Rest in peace your majesty!!!”. Many crying voices shouted as they bowed till the general and his men were out of sight.

Even though it was still late at night, as per tradition the Emperor’s death will be announced by the general for a week amongst the whole Imperial Cave Kingdom.

While Kaido’s confusedly turned to Ming they didn’t even bother bowing earlier.

Then another entourage passed, this time it was the whole Emperor’s harem doing the rounds with Concubine Yan in front leading the sick looking ladies dressed in white as a sign of mourning.

She was also dressed in white and her face was as dark as the night the kingdom was in, because of too much crying.

The ladies lined up in threes and they were twenty in numbers all holding a white flag with the words ‘Justice for the late Emperor, the Ex-Crown Prince killed him!!’ written on it.

By reading this all the people’s eyes widened as they watched the ladies walk past them in sadness.

“I knew the Ex-Crown Prince was a tyrant but killing the Emperor?! Are we sure we’re not talking about a demon!!?”

“The Emperor should have killed him at once! Now he escaped and didn’t waste time in killing the Emperor!”

“This is one of the times I curse the late Emperor and his Empress for birthing us with such bad luck!

“At this rate the ex-crown Prince might just be cursed with madness!!”

“Is he that thirsty for power?!!”

“He was already the first one in line for the throne! But he was busy planning a revolt because he was just too impatient for the Emperor’s rule to be over before becoming the Emperor!”

“If he mistakenly becomes the Emperor then we’re all doomed!!”

“Even the moon goddess might curse the entire moon realm because of him!”

“We’re so unlucky to live in the era of this tyrant ex-Crown Prince!!”

Many people said loudly in tears.

Kaidos stood crossing his arm as he tried to assimilate the whole situation.

“Just a few weeks after his escape from death was announced and he already killed his hunter? People after that mad Prince should better watch out or else…Crazy”. Kaidos sighed deeply in shock as he continued walking away.

“Aren’t we after him also? If the Ghost King wants to rule the whole realm then he should know by now who the real obstacle is?”. Ming said as she followed Kaido’s who smirked.

“You’re right. Let’s see if father still finds his existence benefitting”. Kaidos said with an interesting scoff.
