Jayden came to his mall to get presents for his parents for their anniversary, Ms.Queen came to welcome him as he was walking around the mall searching for what to pick. Suddenly, his eyes caught sight of a silver royal jewel necklace, he asked them to it up.
Some minutes later, he came out with the manager who helped him with the items to his car, he zoomed off, he was in a high speed because he was late for dinner, and he knew Maya would be worried.

JAYDEN’S MANSION
Maya was seated in the dining room, waiting for his return.
“What is taking him so long? he has never been this late for dinner”. she said and then dialed his number, it rang for a while and he picked up.” Where are you jayden?”.
“On my way, I stop by the mall to get some things for Mom and dad anniversary “. he replied from the other end of the phone.
“OK, be careful on the road, don’t drive too speed”. she said.
” I won’t, I will be with you shortly”.
“OK,” She hung up and sighed.
Meanwhile, Jayden was still in the driveway, he took a U-turn to avoid the traffic but suddenly slowed down when he saw a car break down blocking the lane.
“Now what”. He sighed tiredly and horned for the car to move aside, but was surprised to know it was an old man fixing the car, he came down and walked up to him. ” What happened to your car?”. he asked politely.
“I don’t know, it just suddenly broke down”. he replied.
“OK, let me take a look”. he moves to where the bonnet is and starts searching for where the problem is.
” Don’t move!”. a voice interrupted him from behind pointing a gun at the back of his head. Jayden turns around to see a group of guys pointing a gun at him.
“What do you guys want? Who sent you?”. he asked.
” Be quiet, no one sent us, today is your end, Mr. Williams”. he said furiously.
jayden scoffed, he knew with one punch, he would kill all of them, but the thought of Maya came to his mind, he knew if he tried to retaliate, they might shoot him and he didn’t want to make Maya get worried and beside his men are not with him, right now Maya needs him the most.
“OK fine, who are you guys, what do you want? Is it money?”. he asked politely.
” Do we look hungry to you? Now move it”. he yelled at him.
“Ok,” he turned his back and they started walking to the bush area.
“Don’t even dare turn around”. he warned.
Some minutes later, they arrived deep in the bush and they pushed jayden down, he fell on his knees.
” Why are we here?”.
“To say your last prayer”. He said and cracked the gun, he was about to pull the trigger when an unknown bullet hit his head, he fell and died, the rest guys took place but they were gunned down as well only one of them ran off. Jayden was surprised by what happened, he stood up, and a voice interrupted him.
” Are you ok?”.
Jayden turned in the direction of the voice, and he saw a lady wearing a dark leather assassin outfit but covering her face.
“Who are you?” He asked.
“There is no time for questioning, let’s just get out of here before you get attacked again”. She said and walked away, Jayden hesitated for a while and then followed her behind.
Some minutes later, they came out of the road and were heading to the car.
” Don’t you have a name? Let me thank you for saving my life”. he said. The lady stopped walking and turned to him.
“You will get to know me once we get out of here, this place is not safe for us”. She said and tried to walk, but she suddenly noticed someone from afar aiming to shoot Jayden from behind. ” Watch out!”. She yelled, as she pushed him aside and the bullet hit her at her back, she groaned and fell to the ground lifelessly.
“Hey”. Jayden rushed to her quickly, and the cloth she used to cover her face fell off, Jayden was stunned to see who it was. “DIANA!!!?”.

Maya became more restless, she dialed Jayden’s number, but it wasn’t connecting.
” I hope he is fine, why is his number not connecting”. She panicked and continued trying his number.
~~~The hospital~~~
Jayden rushed Diana to the hospital, he was pestering around the corridor with a lot of thought running through his head.
“Why is this happening? And why is she back”. He sighed and then brought out his phone from his pocket, he noticed the battery has died off.” Sh*t! Maya”. he rushed to the reception desk.”Excuse me, can I get a charger, I need to power this phone, is urgent”.
“Ok sir, “. She gave him her code and Jayden located the nearest socket and plugged in his phone.
” Come on”. he said waiting for the phone to power on, the phone came alive and he dialed her number.

JAYDEN’S BEDROOM
Maya lay on the bed sobbing quietly, just then the phone rings as she jerked up, she saw the caller ID and picked it up.
“Jayden”. She sob.
” Maya, am sorry I made you worried”. Jayden said from the other end of the phone.
“Where are you? I thought something bad happened to you”. She sniffs.
“It’s a long story, but I will tell you all about it tomorrow once I get back”.
“What, you are not coming home today?”.
” No, I–“. he got interrupted.
“Why not? Are you ok Jayden? Did something happen?”.She panicked.
” Maya, calm down, am fine, nothing happened to me, I will tell you all about it tomorrow”.
“I can’t jayden, I can’t sleep, and the baby is not sleeping either”. She sob.
” Maya please don’t cry, I can’t bear to see you like this”. he said sadly on the phone.”You know what, put the phone on your tummy and place it on the loudspeaker”. he instructed.
“What”. She said confusedly.
” Yes, do I as I have said”.
“Ok”. She placed the phone on speaker and placed it on her tummy.” Is on”. She said.
“Ok”. he sighed and started talking.” Listen, angel, is Daddy talking to you, I am not with Mummy at the moment, please be a good kid and sleep tight, don’t worry, tomorrow I promise to cuddle you in my arms all day, I love you so much, now be a good child and sleep, don’t stress mom this night, ok?”. he said and Maya places the phone back to her ear after reducing the volume of the speaker. “Maya, I will be with you tomorrow”.
” Ok, please be safe”.
“I will, goodnight”. He hung up.
Maya sighed and then lay back on the bed, some minutes later she drifted off to sleep.

The next day, Mia came to visit Maya, they were seated by the poolside chatting.
” What is that look on your face, did something happen?”. Mia asked seeing how pale she looked.
“Jayden is not back”. She said.
” What do you mean ‘Jayden is not back’ did he travel?” she asked confusedly and Maya rolled her head.
“He called last night to say he won’t make it home and he said he will tell me all about it once he comes back this morning, now, look at the time it’s almost noon and I haven’t heard from him, am worried, what if something happens to him and he doesn’t want to tell me about it “. She said.
” Calm down Mia, am sure he had a better explanation to give once he comes, don’t let that wear you down, am sure he is fine”. Mia said.
“I don’t think so, I feel he is in danger and he doesn’t want to tell me about it, I can feel it “. She continued talking and Mia was trying to calm her down. Then Mia’s eyes caught sight of Jayden coming towards their direction, then he stopped to hearing Maya talking to none stop, Mia smiled.
” Maya, calm down, take a deep breath”. She said and Maya breathed in and out.”Good, now, this is no need to be worried”.
“I am worried, why is he not here yet? he promised to be here by morning and now is noon already, he is not here, I promise not to talk to him when he finally comes back”. she frowned and Mia chuckled.”What is funny?”.
” You are funny, turn around”.
“What”. She turned around to see Jayden behind her, She stood up quickly and ran into his arms sobbing, Jayden caressed her body.
” Am sorry, I got you worried”. he pulled away from her slowly and caressed her face.”Am sorry”.
“What happened? Are you hurt?”. She asked curiously checking if he got hurt.
” No, am fine, nothing happened to me”.
“Then why did you take this long, you told me you will be home this morning”.
” Yes, I did, but something came up and I am going to tell you all about it”.
“Um, I think I should be on my way now, I still have some errands to do for my mom”. Mia said as she stood up to leave.
” Why? Is too early to go”. Maya said.
“I know, but you are fine now that Mr.williams is back”. she said and Maya blushed.
” Thank you Mia for coming, it really means a lot”.Jayden said.
“Sure, you two have a nice day”. She said and walked away.
” Let’s go inside” ” He took her hand and they walked away.
Some minutes later, Jayden explained everything to her and she was shocked.
“What, is she okay?”. She asked curiously.
” Yeah, before I left the hospital, Doctor Michael said she is stable and out of danger, but he said is going to run some test on her to see if there is still more complications”. He said.
“Oh my, I feel so pity for her, what if she wasn’t there at the right time, you would have been in her position”.
” Yeah, but all the same there is a reason for everything”. He said and then his phone rang, he saw it was a call from Michael.”Yes, Michael, any news?”. He asked on the phone and there was a pause.”What problem?”. he asked surprisedly and there was another pause.”What?!”. he sighed sadly.”OK, I will be there tomorrow”. He hung up.
“Is she ok? What happened?”.
” Doctor Michael just called to inform me that they discovered something else on her”.
“What could that be?”.
” He said she has a brain tumor and it on the final stage”. he said and Maya gasped.
“Oh my gosh, does this mean she has few years to live?”.
” I don’t think it could be up to years”. He sighed.
“Am sorry, I can feel your pain, I may have known a little about your past between you two, but I am sure there is a reason for her coming back”. she said and Jayden caressed her face and kissed her forehead.
” I am fine, I am only worried about her because she saved my life, when she regains consciousness, I Will pay her off and thank her for saving my life”. he said.”Come here”. he caresses her in his arms.
