A NIGHT WITH A STRANGER : CHAPTERS 181 – 190
Another week passed, and everyone was still hoping for a miracle to happen. Jayden was always with Maya twenty-four hours, he never left her side, and he sometimes worked from the hospital. Diana came twice in the day with Hayden to bring food to Jayden and clothes too. Lucas on the other other hand never fails to visit Maya.
Jayden was cleaning Maya up with a hand towel and a bowl of water beside him.
“Come on, Maya, it’s been months now, please come back to me, Hayden yawned for your touch, aren’t you tired of sleeping, I want you”. He caressed her face and kissed her forehead.
” Yuck! What are you doing? Taking advantage of someone in a coma”. Lucas teased as he entered the room. Jayden rolled his eyes at him.”You should allow the young lady to regain consciousness first, and try to control your urge”. He smirk.
“What are you doing here?”.
” Is that a question or what? Are you blind, She is my sister, so, I have the right to be here, so, get used to me “. He said and moved to kiss Maya on her forehead.
Jayden stared at him angrily, the zeal to punch him in the face ignited in him because he couldn’t bear to see him touching Maya, but he had to control himself.
Maya was in a trance, she stood lonely in the garden sobbing quietly, her mother came from behind and patted her shoulder.
” What’s wrong Maya?”. She asked firmly and Maya turned to her.
“I can’t Mother, I missed Jayden and Hayden so much, I want to go back and be with them”. She sobs.
“I understand, but your fate hasn’t been decided yet”.
” But I want to go back! Jayden is calling out to me, I want to be with him”.
“Come here child, you will be fine”. She hugged her warmly. Jayden’s grandmother came and interrupted them.
” It’s time”.She said and they pulled away from each other.
“Time for what?”. Maya asked curiously and they smiled at her.
Back to reality, Jayden and Lucas were picking on each other.
” I hate the fact that I am talking to you”. Lucas said.
“If you hate me then, why don’t you just go and never come back”. Jayden said angrily.
” If I am leaving, am leaving with Maya”.
They stood up facing each other angrily.
“And you think I will allow you to do that”.
” She is my sister!”. Lucas yelled.
“And she is my woman! The mother of my child”. Jayden retort.
” I will take her away from you”.
They grab each other collars angrily.
“I will kill you with my bare hands”.
” Leave my Jayden alone”. Maya interrupted them weakly.
They were shocked as they turned their face to see Maya awake.
“Maya!”. Jayden called surprisedly and rushed to her including Lucas.” Oh my, you are awake”. tears crawled out from his eyes as he caressed her face.
“I will get the doctor”. Lucas said as he rushed out.
” I am so happy you came back”. he kisses her cheek and Maya smiles at him.
Some minutes later, everyone gathered in the room as the doctor was examining Maya’s body.
“Oh God, thank you”. Mrs.williams prayed silently.
” Well, she is fine, no bone fracture, but I will still run some tests on her”. Michael said.
“Thank you, doctor”. Jayden said and Michael walked away.
” Maya”. Mia rushed and hugged her with tears in her eyes.”Am so happy that you are back”.
“How are you feeling?”. Ma.lucy asked.
Maya nodded her head smiling at them.
” This should call for a big celebration”. Theo said
“Yeah”. Ryan said and they all smiled.
” Hayden”. Maya called weakly.
“He is here”. Diana said as she carried Hayden to her.
Maya caressed Hayden in her arms and kissed him as tears fell from her eyes.
“He misses you so much”. Ella said smiling.
“And now his mother is back”.Lisa said.
They laughed smiling at her, Meanwhile, Lucas left a while ago to sort out some business.

Two days later, Jayden was feeding Maya some food while Hayden was sleeping on his stroller next to Maya.
” Jayden, am getting full”. Maya said.
“Nope, you have to finish the food”. Jayden said.
” My stomach won’t take it anymore”. She frowns.
“Just have this one spoon”. he said and fed her.” Good”. he placed the plate on the shelf and gave her water to drink.”Now, have some fruit to balance your meal”. He fed her some fruit.
“Looking good today Maya”. Lucas interrupted them as he entered holding a bunch of red roses.
Maya was surprised to see him.
” Lucas? What are you doing here?”. Maya asked.
“I thought you would never come back since you suddenly disappeared for two days”. Jayden said.
Lucas rolled his eyes at him as he walked to Maya smiling.
” How are you feeling?”.Lucas asked smiling.
Maya stared confusedly at him wondering why Jayden was so relaxed by his presence.
“How do you know I was here?” Maya asked.
“Well, you will understand soon, look, I got you your favorite flowers”. Lucas said.
” Am I missing something here?”. She asked confusedly.
“Maya, there is something you should know”. Jayden said and Maya stared at him.
An hour later, everyone was present in the room, Maya was in great shock as she was told the truth.
” That’s what happens dear”. Ma.lucy said sadly.
“Wait, is this some kind of a joke or what?”. She asked confusedly as she stared at Lucas.” He is my brother?”. She sputtered.
“Yes I am Maya, am your brother, everything you heard is the truth”. Lucas said.
“How is this even possible? How come I never heard of your existence?”. Maya asked still in your shock.
” Try to calm down Maya”. Jayden said caressing her hand.
“A lot of things happen after you left, I mean no one would have known that he is your brother if he hadn’t saved you,” Mia said.
” This is like a dream, to think the person that stalks me around is actually my brother,” she said as tears filled her eyes.
Lucas caressed her hand gently and cleaned her tears with his thumb.
“And I am happy that I meant you, now I understand why I kept drawing to you, I love you Maya and I am happy to call you my sister”. He said smiling at her.

JAYDEN’S MANSION
The Kitchen was busy in the kitchen preparing for Maya’s arrival, It had been a week now since Maya got out of Coma. The whole house is decorated with ribbons and balloons.
” Finally, Ms.Maya is coming back home”. Lucy said happily.
“Yeah, that’s why we need to hurry up with the food before they get here”. Diana said.
” I can’t wait to see her, It has been a while”. Andrea said.
“me too”. Linda said. “Is so good that things are falling into place and I am so much pleased with Mr. Williams for giving Amma a second chance, I hope she is happily with her family”. she added
” Yeah, it wasn’t her fault, she was also a victim”. Diana said and they sighed sadly.”Let’s hurry up”. she added
Some hours later, Jayden and Maya arrived home with the rest, Maya was amazed by the welcoming party they threw for her, they all made merry, and celebrated until they called it a day.
Later at night, Maya was feeding Hayden breast milk and at the same time lost in thought.
“What are you thinking about?” Jayden interrupted her from the bathroom door and she sighed.
“A lot of things”. She replied and jayden moved to sit next to her.
” A lot of things like what? Are you worried about Lucas?”.He asked.
“Yes, is somehow confusing knowing full well he is an enemy to the family and he is my brother, am scared of what might happen”. She said.
” Nothing is going to happen, Lucas is going to understand the fact that you are part of our family now, in as much as I hate the fact that he is related to you, but I can’t do anything”.
“And you will ever accept him knowing the pain he had caused your family?”. Maya asked and Jayden sighed.
” I don’t know, fate always has its way, I can’t blame him, the man he thought he was his father wasn’t really his father, he lied to him”. Jayden said.
“Can I invite him to the dinner this weekend?”. Maya asked.
” If it’s what you want, then no problem, just let him stay off my path”. He said and Maya stared confusedly at him.”Am just saying”. he smiled at her.
Meanwhile, Amanda and Miranda are thrown to the street after Jayden orders his men to inject them with intramuscular injection lincomycin which causes paralysis. People stare pity at them as they crawl on the floor seeking for help.
