“Something more” he replied, his breath sending shivers down her spine.
“Something more?” she whispered.
Marcus’s eyes moved to her lips, and he moved closer, his proximity making her breath catch in her throat.
“I want to explore every inch of you, to know every secret, every dream, every fear” he said in a low and husky voice.
Katharina felt a thrill run through her body. Marcus’s words made her feel like she was melting into his arms, like she couldn’t resist him.
Without another word, Marcus reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. The touch sent shivers down her spine, and Katharina knew she was lost.
“What do you say, Katharina?” Marcus whispered, his breath caressing her ear.
“Are you ready to make some memories with me?”
Katharina’s heart skipped a beat as she nodded, her voice caught in her throat. Marcus’s smile was all the answer she needed.
And with that, he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, gentle kiss that left her breathless and wanting more.
Marcus phone suddenly rang, shattering the intimate moment. He groaned inwardly, trying to ignore it, but the ringing persisted.
Katharina pulled back.
“I think you should get that” she whispered.
Marcus hesitated,his eyes on her,but the ringing continued. He sighed and reached for his phone.
“Excuse me” he said and headed out of the room, phone in hand.
📞”Rhea, what’s up?” Marcus asked as he descended the stairs.
📞”Sir, I’m so sorry to disturb you, but Jemima Patel’s assistant just called. She wants to meet with you tomorrow to discuss a potential collaboration”
Marcus’s eyes narrowed as he reached the bottom of the stairs. Jemima Patel, the renowned socialite and wine enthusiast, had been at his company’s wine launch earlier. He hadn’t expected her to move so quickly.
📞”What time?” he asked.
📞”How about 2 pm at your office?” Rhea suggested.
📞”Set it up” Marcus said, his decision made.
After ending the call with Rhea, Marcus remembered his original purpose for coming downstairs. He needed to retrieve a file from his study for a meeting the next day.
He entered the study and moved to the desk, his eyes scanning the neat stacks of papers and files.
As he searched for the specific document, his mind wandered back to Jemima Patel’s request. What did she want to discuss? And why did he get the feeling it was more than just business?
He finally got what he came for and made to leave the study room to join Katharina when his phone rang again, shrill in the silence. He frowned, seeing an unknown number on the screen. This was the same number that had called him at his office a day ago.
Curiosity getting the better of him, Marcus answered the call.
📞”Hello?”
But, just like before, there was only silence on the other end. No breathing, no background noise, just dead air. At least the last call,he could hear some breathing from the other line but this time around, nothing!
Marcus’s frown deepened. Who was this? And why were they calling him, only to say nothing?
📞”Hello?” he repeated
Still, there was no response. The caller hung up, leaving Marcus with more questions than answers.
He stood there for a moment.
Who was behind these mysterious calls? And what did they want from him?
Shrugging it off, Marcus tucked the phone into his pocket and headed back upstairs, his thoughts already returning to Katharina.
Meanwhile, Katharina was already under the shower bathing. She decided to take a quick bath before Marcus comes back since he’s taking too long to come back.
She heard the room door open and then closed again,she considered that to be Marcus coming in.
As Katharina lathered soap on her skin, she hummed a soft tune, her mind still on Marcus’s words. “Something more”… what did he mean by that?
She rinsed off the soap and reached for a towel, wrapping it around her body. As she stepped out of the shower, she heard the sound of the room door opening again.
“Marcus?” she called out, expecting him to reply.
But there was no answer.
Katharina frowned, wondering if he had gone back downstairs. She began to dry herself, her mind wandering back to their interrupted moment.
Just then, she heard the sound of the door opening once more.
“Katharina?”
“I’m here” she replied, her heart skipping a beat.
Marcus entered the bathroom, a smile on his face.
“Sorry about the interruption. I had to take that call”
“It’s okay. I took a shower”
Marcus’s eyes roamed over her towel-clad body, his eyes filled with love and desires.
“You’re beautiful” he whispered.
“You’re breathtaking” he said and
Katharina’s cheeks turned pink, but she didn’t look away.
“You’re not so bad yourself” she teased.
Marcus chuckled.
“I think we were in the middle of something” he said.
Katharina’s heart raced as Marcus moved closer, his eyes solely on hers.
His eyes seemed to burn with desire, making her skin feel warm and tingly.
“We were” she whispered.
Marcus’s hands reached out, gently grabbing her waist. He pulled her close, his lips inches from hers.
“Kitty” he whispered, his breath caressing her skin.
Katharina’s eyes fluttered closed as Marcus’s lips brushed against hers. The kiss was soft, gentle, but it sent shivers down her spine.
Marcus’s eyes never left hers as he backed her up against the bathroom wall, his hands still grabbing her waist. He lifted her up, and Katharina wrapped her legs around him, feeling the warmth of his body against hers.
The shower was turned on, and the warm water rained on them, creating a steamy mist that surrounded their bodies. Marcus’s lips found hers again, and Katharina felt herself getting lost in the kiss.
As they kissed, Marcus pressed her back against the wall, his body pinning hers in place. Katharina’s legs tightened around him, pulling him closer.
Marcus’s hands roamed her body, his fingers tracing the curves of her waist, her hips, her thighs. Katharina’s skin tingled under his touch.
As they kissed, Marcus’s hands gently pulled away the towel wrapped around Katharina’s body. She felt a shiver run down her spine as the towel fell away, exposing her skin to the warm water.
Marcus eyes broke away from hers, his gaze moving downward to linger on her chest. Katharina’s heart skipped a beat as she felt his eyes on her, but she didn’t try to cover herself. Instead, she let him look, her skin tingling under his gaze.
Slowly, Marcus brought his hands to her chest, his fingers tracing the curves of her br**st. Katharina’s breath caught in her throat as his touch sent shivers down her spine.
Marcus trailed soft kisses down her neck till it got to her chest and then he gave her cleavage a soft kiss.
He brought his lips closer to her left n**ple and Katharina felt a rush of pleasure. She closed her eyes, letting out a soft sigh as his mouth lingered there.
After a few moments, Marcus lifted his head, his eyes on hers. He smiled, his lips curled up in a sly grin. Katharina’s heart skipped a beat as he reached out to turn off the shower.
The sudden silence was deafening, but Katharina didn’t have time to process it. She was completely wet, water dripping from her hair and skin, but she didn’t care.
With a gentle smile, Marcus carried her out of the bathroom, into the bedroom.
As they reached the bed, Marcus laid her down, his eyes never leaving hers. Katharina felt the softness of the blankets beneath her and smiled.
Marcus began getting rid of her clothes before he joined her on bed, begging her with his eyes to be quiet because Hazel is in the next room and they wouldn’t wanna wake her with strange sounds.

RUBY’S PLACE*
Ruby entered her room, carrying a plate of steaming hot medicinal soup. Natalie was sitting on the bed, looking much better than she had a few days ago, but still miserable.
“Hey, Nat” Ruby said softly, setting the plate down on the bedside table.
“I brought you some soup. It’s supposed to help with the healing process”
Natalie nodded weakly, her eyes on the soup.
“Thanks, Ruby. I’m starving”
As Ruby fed Natalie the soup, she decided to fill her in on the latest update.
“You know, Marcus proposed to Katharina at the wine launch party”
Natalie’s expression remained indifferent.
“I don’t care about that. I just need Marcus to trust me. He’s not safe”
“Are you on his side now?”
Natalie let out a cold laugh.
“Oh, common Ruby… don’t you know Vinson is behind me being shot? That bastard! After everything I have done for him and the others, yet he betrayed me. I’m going to work with Marcus against him”
“But everyone thinks you are dead”
Natalie smiled, mischievously.
“Well, I’m a survivor. I can’t be killed easily. Besides, the idiot didn’t target the gun well. I knew Vinson sent that amateur to kill me,I recognised his voice when he said ‘bye forever’ ”
Natalie smiled as she went on memory lane.
_FLASHBACK_
Natalie’s car suddenly came to a halt on the side of the road. She groaned in frustration and got out to take a look.
Just as she came out of the car, a loud noise pierced the air. Natalie felt a sudden jolt and looked down to see a red stain spreading across her chest. She looked up to see a figure coming from the shadows, a gun still clutched in their hand.
Natalie’s eyes widened in shock as she stumbled backwards, her hands grasping at her chest. She fell to the ground, her vision blurring. The last thing she saw was the figure looming over her.
“Bye forever” the figure hissed, before turning and disappearing into the night.
Natalie’s eyes slowly closed, her body went limp. The sound of footsteps faded into the distance, leaving her alone in the darkness.
Natalie’s eyes suddenly opened, her vision blurry. She was met with darkness, and the sound of her own ragged breathing. She tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through her chest.
Natalie brought out her phone and dialed Ruby’s number.
📞”Ruby, I need you…I’ve been shot…please hurry” she whispered, her voice weak.
But then, an idea shot into her head. Her twin sister, Nina’s, house wasn’t far from there. In fact, she was on her way there before this happened. No one knows she’s a twin and she can use that to her advantage.
Natalie quickly dialed Nina’s number.
📞”Nina, it’s me…I need your help…I’ve been attacked…please come quickly”
Nina’s voice was panicked on the other end.
Natalie smiled to herself, a plan forming in her mind.
When Nina arrived, she was alarmed to see Natalie in that state.
“Nat, oh my god, what happened?”
“Someone tried to kill me…but I think I can use this to our advantage”
Nina’s eyes widened in confusion, but Natalie just smiled despite her state.
With a surge of strength, Natalie brought out a gun from her pant pocket. She was with a gun that particular night after leaving Vinson’s place.
“I’m sorry, Nina…but this is the only way”
And with that, Natalie shot her sister, a tear rolling down her cheek.
Just then, Ruby arrived, her eyes widening in horror at the scene before her.
“Nat, what have you done?”
“I’ve taken care of the problem. Now, get me out of here with a doctor available, I’m dying”
“I’ll make sure they think I’m dead. And then, I’ll take him down” she said before Ruby picked her up and she went unconscious instantly, her blood staining Ruby’s clothes.

“I will get Marcus to trust me,I just need to heal first”
“Hailey is coming over the house tomorrow and I don’t know how to explain it to her if she sees you” Ruby said.
“Let her come,I will explain it to her. Maybe she can be useful for once” Natalie said and Ruby laughed.

BACK IN MARCUS’S ROOM*
Katharina moaned silently and softly as Marcus made love to her. Trying to suppress her loud moans as he thrust in and out of her fast and deep.
“Oh Marcus” she moaned silently, biting her lips in pleasure.
Marcus’s eyes solely on hers, his gaze burning with desire.
Marcus’s body tensed, his muscles rigid as he reached the peak of pleasure,he released into her. He groaned softly, his eyes on Katharina’s.
Katharina felt him shudder, his body trembling with release. She wrapped her arms around him, holding him close as he poured himself into her.
For a moment, they just held each other, their bodies entwined.Then, Marcus collapsed on Katharina, his chest heaving with exhaustion.
Katharina smiled and she stroked his hair gently.
“I love you” she whispered.
Marcus lifted his head, his eyes meeting hers.
“I love you too” he replied.
Katharina stroked Marcus’s hair as he relaxed, his eyes closing in sleep. She smiled, feeling happy and content.
As she snuggled closer, her own eyelids grew heavy. She drifted off to sleep too.
Together, they slept peacefully, their bodies entwined.
