BY Rosy Johnson.

{MINI—ME}

“Jimmy proposed and I said “Yes” Diana’s voice came again and this time Jacob couldn’t hold back so he walked out of the room.

Trista rushed after him.

“Mr Jacob… I mean Dad!” She called, she caught up with him just few miles from his car.

“I can’t let her get married to that man,” Jacob said seriously.

He knew what he didn’t to her was wrong but what if this new guy.

“Lemme at least follow you,” she said softly.

She wasn’t gonna be mad at him forever, after all he was her father and he gave his own reasons as to why he left.

It might not be tangible to some people but she understood, her mother was always moving around just to keep her secret so she doesn’t blame him that much.

She won’t want her parent to get back together even though she crave for both their love. It would be selfish of her to want him for her mother without considering what her mother really wants.

DIANA’S HOUSE

“Mom,” Trista yelled.

She pushed the front door open rushing into the house, she met Ava in the sitting room butbshe didn’t pay attention to her.

She rushed up the stairs, straight to her mother’s bedroom and pushed the door open with great excitement.

“Is it really true Momma? You’re getting laid?” She said jumped up and hugging her mother tightly.

“Tell me everything, how did it happen and how did he propose?” Trista asked giggling happily.

“Okay, calm down young lady….”

“Tell me… tell me, I’m curious Momma,”

FLASHBACK.

Jimmy turned to only to see Diana watching them, his heart thudded in his chest.

The air seemed to shimmer with tension, each breath held in anticipation.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still, the only sound the beating of their hearts.

His gaze met hers, her eyes like bottomless pools, sparkling with an emotion he knew all too well.

In that instant, the words he had scolded his daughter for speaking seemed to echo in his mind, the truth of his feelings undeniable.

As he stood there, struggling to find the right words, she took a tentative step towards him, her voice a gentle plea,

“Please, tell me. Tell me it’s true. I need to hear it from you.”

He looked into her eyes, his own filled with a mixture of vulnerability and longing.

“It is true,” he managed to say, his voice catching in his throat.

“I’ve loved you since the day we first met.” he confessed truthfully.

The moment stretched, as if time itself were holding its breath, waiting for the inevitable denouement.

Her hand reached out, almost of its own accord, her fingers brushing against his cheek with a tenderness that seemed to contain a thousand unsaid words.

And then, as if they were the only two people in the world, their lips met in a kiss that spoke of longing, of hope, of all the things that had gone unsaid for so long.

It was a moment of pure, unadulterated magic.

In the wake of their kiss, he pulled away just enough to look into her eyes. His own shone with a radiant light, the love and joy he felt shining through like a beacon in the darkness.

“Marry me,” he whispered, his voice filled with such conviction that it was as if he were speaking directly to her soul.

She gazed at him, her eyes alight with happiness.

“Yes,” she breathed, her voice barely audible.

“Yes, I will marry you.”

FLASHBACK ENDS

“So you guys didn’t talk about Dad?” Trista asked amused.

Diana simple smiled.

“You’re finally getting laid, I’m so excited,”

“Diana we need to talk,” Jacob said, walking into the room without knocking.

Both women turned sharply to look at who came in such manner.

“You do not barge into my room in such manner,” Diana said.

Omit was obvious that she’s still upset about what happened between them.

“Diana he’s not the one for you? I know what I’m saying….”

“You know nothing about me,” she cut him off.

They both glanced at Trista then he swallowed.

He was only looking out for her but deep down, he truly didn’t want her to choose that Jimmy guy over him.

He swallowed hard.

“Will you come with us?” He asked, wishing she could at least accept.

He wanted to keep her close so he could make up for the good old days that he ruined.

She chuckled softly.

“I’m afraid I won’t be there,” she replied casually.

Three days has already gone by and it was time for Trista to go with her father to see her granddaughter.

“You don’t have to be so nervous,” Bianca said, helping her with her dress.

“I told her not to worry but she won’t just listen,” Ava Ruby added.

She brought out the jewelry opening it for Trista to take make her choice.

“But if I were her I would be a bit a nervous, mean the queen have never had friendly reputation. The king is the chief of the ferals and everyone knows he takes down whoever the queen desire to be taken down,” Ava said with a shrug.

“Are you ready ladies?” Isaac’s voice came from the door

They all glanced at the door before staring at her.

“Wish me luck” She said, trying not to think of the possibilities that she won’t impress her Majesty by pulling her powers.

If she failed like Jaxon had said that means she was gonna dîê? Why does she even have to be the one?

“Baby, it’s always like this at the start but I can assure you that everything will be perfect once you think of the only thing that makes you feel safe,” Diana placed her hands in her shoulders from behind.

Before Trista could respond, the door opened and Jacob came to view.

“Shall we?” He offered his hand and she smiled.

“If course, father,” she replied with a little smile.

Her mother’s words were encouraging and it really helped.

Jacob Walked over to Jimmy’s who’s standing by his car outside and waiting for them, he glanced at Finn who stood by Finn then at Ava who’s walking out behind Trista.

“I apologize for leaving him here, do send me a message as soon as he brings any trouble to you,” Jacob said concerned.

“Uncle” Finn glared.

“I’m only here till the lady of the moon changs her mind, I do not wish to marry Ava….”

“You’re stuck with me forever,” Ava interrupted.

“It is unpleasant to intrude in such manner,” he frowned at her.

.she glanced at Jacob then at her father.

“Pardon me, but I must speak with him,” she said and took his hand, pulling him away from their midst.

Meanwhile, Trista had been picking on her sweaty nails.

“Are you alright?” Jaxon asked in a low calm voice.

He pick up her palm, placing them in his as though offering comfort.

“I’m a bit nervous,” Trista replied

As the carriage rolled over the lush grass, Trista’s heart beat in tandem with the wheel’s rhythmic thumping, like the throbbing drums of her anxiety.

The endless fields of colorful blooms danced in the gentle breeze, a wave of breathtaking beauty that seemed to mock her inner turmoil.

Trista’s knuckles whitened around the satin-clad armrest as she tried to steady her breathing.

She could feel Jaxon’s reassuring presence beside her, his hand finding hers, a gentle anchor amidst the storm of her emotions.

The journey to the Therian kingdom continued, the landscape shifting from vibrant meadows to serene, tree-lined avenues.

The canopy of leaves cast dappled shadows across the forest floor, and the twittering of birdsong offered a soothing harmony to the already tranquil setting.

Despite the picturesque surroundings, Trista could not shake the nerves that thrummed beneath her skin.

She knew her impending meeting with the queen carried significant weight… a weight that she had never expected to bear, not in her wildest dreams.

As the carriage turned a corner, the trees opened up to reveal a grand palace, its architecture a testament to the regality of the Therian kingdom.

The land of Flowers!

The sun’s rays gleamed off the marble façade, casting a warm, welcoming glow that did little to ease Trista’s apprehensions.

The carriage drew to a halt, and Jacob extended his hand, helping Trista descend from the vehicle.

Jaxon followed close by.

With each step towards the palace entrance, Trista’s mind reeled, a thousand scenarios playing out like silent movies in her head.

Would the queen accept her? Would she deem her worthy of being a radiant?

The ornate doors swung open with a resounding click, and Trista found herself bathed in the grandeur of the Therian palace.

The walls were adorned with intricate tapestries, their threads woven with the tales of heroes and legends past.

Trista’s footsteps echoed against the polished floors as Jacob led her down the hallways, passing by countless portraits of Therian royalty.

Trista’s eyes lingered on each one, wondering if her own portrait would one day join their ranks.

Finally, they reached the throne room, its doors agape like a portal into another world.

As they entered the throne room, Trista’s gaze was drawn to the immense throne at the far end, adorned with a bounty of flowers, their petals cascading down like a fragrant waterfall.

And there, upon the throne, sat the Therian queen.

Her silver hair shone like spun moonlight, her eyes a piercing shade of blue that seemed to pierce through the veil of Trista’s uncertainty.

“Mini-me,” the queen called, her voice regal and measured.

“Come, sit by my side,”
