CHAPTER 46
Collins didn’t turn to acknowledge her, the silence stretching uncomfortably between them.
Swallowing hard, Cookie’s resolve firmed.
“Collins, I can’t tell you what I am,” she began, her voice trembling slightly.
“But just like you’re my bodyguard, I’ll try to have your back, too.” she said.
He still didn’t say a word so she gulp, she wasn’t one to say too many words. I guess she’s done for today.
He’s not ready to listen after all it’s best she let him be.
Before she could turn away, Collins’s hand shot out, gripping her wrist with a sudden, firm pressure.
She spun around, their eyes locked, his gaze intense and unreadable.
In that moment, the rooftop seemed to shrink, the silence between them heavy with unspoken words and raw emotion.
Collins watched Cookies conflicted expression, his voice soft but resolute.
“I’m not going to press you for answers you’re not ready to give. Just know that I’m here, and whenever you’re ready, I’m around. But promise me this.
You’ve got my back, and you won’t stab me on it. I trust you, even though I don’t know you well.” he said not tearing his gaze from her
Cookie hesitated, her gaze dropping to the floor as she weighed her words. Finally, she nodded, her voice a quiet murmur.
“I promise.” she declared even though she was sure of the commitment she just promised.
Collins moved closer, his proximity sending a shiver down her spine. She tilted her head, questioning his intent.
“What are you doing?”
Without answering, Collins gently brushed his fingers against her lips.
The touch was electric, a jolt of sensation that made her heart race.
She had never felt so vulnerable, so disarmed, and yet, the unfamiliar sensation was oddly thrilling.
She had always craved strength and assertiveness, a way to measure her opponent’s mettle. Collins’ gentleness and rugged charm melted her resolve like ice under the sun.
He cupped her jaw, tilting her face upward.
“May I kiss you?” His voice was soft, almost reverent.
That is what he never did, girls like him and they beg him to take them always but he just begged a woman to kiss her
Cookies reath caught. For a moment, time seemed to stretch as she looked into his eyes, feeling a strange mix of fear and excitement.
Slowly, she parted her lips, her response a silent invitation.
“It’s my first kiss,” she whispered, her voice trembling slightly.
A smile broke across Collin’s face, warm and genuine.
“Lucky me,” he murmured before closing the distance between them.
His lips met hers in a kiss that was both tender and passionate, a gentle exploration that spoke of new beginnings and unspoken promises.
As their lips moved together, Cookie felt a rush of emotions, a complex blend of joy, anticipation, and the thrill of something uncharted.
She has never been kissed, it felt so…. His tongue in her mouth, halfway down her through was more than what she expected it to be.
She never kissed anyone but she has been forced into sêx and it was nothing like this, his touch felt so calm and reassuring.
When they finally pulled apart, the world seemed to shift back into focus, but the connection between them lingered, palpable and profound.
“Care to make me your boyfriend also?”

I think the new development is cool but how will the 300 get to you, speaking of those who do’nt have.
