By the time they returned, it was late, and as expected, the compound is silent except for the parading guards.

Adeline is back to her male fit, and right now she’s wearing a short golden wig to conceal her bob hair.

She waited till they got to the forest before grabbing his hand, and he interlocked it immediately.

“When you win the election, Madden. Promise me you’ll visit my aunt Odessa in Colorado with me” she told him.

“I have a dislike for promises” he replied, rubbing her knuckles.

“Please… For me” she said, and he was about to reply when they got to the mountain and sighted the waiting saga in front of the manor.

Zoya is sitting on a rock with Aleksandr and Angelika beside her, and the kids are shaking so much with cold.

“What the fûck!” Adeline rushed forward and made to take Angelika, but Zoya pushed her hand away.

“Don’t touch my kids, slut!” She barked, and Adeline’s eyes widened.

“And stop throwing yourself at their father. Stop following my husband around!” Zoya shouted, and Angelika started crying.

“Dad” Aleksandr said, walking to Madden who’s back to his robotic nature.

“Hey, son” Madden said with an edge of mischief in his voice, and Adeline nearly fell.

Twin? His kids?

No.

No it’s impossible.

She bit her tongue countlessly, and she lost count of how many times her eyes turned on their own in that same minute.

Was she gonna faint?

Her eyes started dimming when she tried to take it all in, and she felt her heart sinking.

Madden is a father?

“Go back to the compound with the kids, now” Madden ordered, and surprisingly, Zoya carried crying Angelika, then she pulled Aleksandr.

“We’ll be waiting for you, don’t take long” she said and glared at Adeline before going down with the kids.

“C’mon” Madden pulled Adeline inside, but she roughly took her hand from him at the threshold.

“No I can’t take this… How come you’re a father? How are you the father of Angelika and the boy? And you told me nothing? Why are you built insanely like this? Madden…

“Addie…

“No don’t call me that! I thought the dinner changed things and we went an inch closer, but I was deluding again… Why is it that every damn time I try to understand you, you give me another reason to not…

“Addie…

“Calm the fûck down!” He snapped.

“Don’t tell me to calm down! I should have known a beast is always a beast, even in a cage, even dressed in silk. A beast can never be a pet… I’m going down there right now, and please… Pretend that I don’t exist, and I’ll do the same from now on. I hate you” she said and turned to leave.

“You’re leaving me with no choice then” Madden’s mean voice came behind, and before she knew it, she was swept off her feet to Madden’s broad shoulders.

“Madden! Drop me! Madden!!” She was screaming and pinching him as he walked, but it’s like he’s a machine immune to pains.

“Madden I swear to gawd…

He entered his office and scanned his left palm on the wall.

A hidden door opened, revealing an Archive room.

He dropped her in the room, and before she could move, the door closed, locking her in.

“You’re not locking me in, Madden. You’re not doing this bullshit!” She shouted from inside.

“Tell me I can’t, and that’s why I will” he replied darkly, hiding the door with his fingerprints again before walking out of the office.

“Madden I’ll kill you!” Adeline shouted from the inside, but it’s soundproof, so her voice is not even coming out.

Madden was smirking diabolically as he walked out of the manor.

Zoya… Shall we start the FOOL OF THE CENTURY game?
