HEAD OVER HEELS : CHAPTER 71 – 80
♪****Inferno of betrayal**♪
When Leonardo Giovanni was born, the devil himself muttered, “Oh, shit… competition.” Fear flickered in the eyes of Hell’s ruler that day, for Leonardo strode into the underworld as if he owned it—perhaps he did. Known as the devil in human form, Leonardo embodied horror and terror like no other.
He leaned back in his chair, the glow of his cigarette illuminating his sharp features as he stared into the void. Orion, standing nearby, watched him carefully, a nervous smile tugging at his lips.
Leonardo was no ordinary man; he was a demon dressed in tailored suits, his presence suffocating the room with an invisible, palpable darkness. His eyes—cold, predatory—held the gleam of someone who had already sold his soul, or perhaps, had never needed one. There was a raw power in him, the kind that could bend wills and crush anyone who dared to oppose him, like a devil casting judgment with a mere flick of his gaze. The air around him was always thick, heavy with menace, as if even the shadows feared him, creeping back when he entered.
He didn’t just command respect, he demanded submission—like a lord of the underworld, ruling his empire with an iron fist, leaving nothing but fear and fire in his wake. Whispers called him “the devil,” but those who knew him better knew he was worse than that. A devil could still be bargained with. Leonardo… Leonardo took everything.
“Leo… I didn’t do anything to her. I swear. I fought against him. You have to believe me,” Orion pleaded, desperation creeping into his voice.
Leonardo scoffed, unmoved, rising from his chair in one fluid motion, his cold gaze never leaving the floor. As he began to walk away, Orion seized his arm, his grip firm yet trembling.
“He’s ready to take you back,” Orion insisted, his voice more urgent now. “You know he’ll do whatever it takes to have you by his side again.”
Leonardo halted, his icy gaze finally meeting Orion’s. Slowly, he pulled Orion’s hand from his arm, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. “I don’t give a damn about him. Or you. Or any of the other bastards. But if any of you come after me or my family again, I’ll burn you alive.”
Orion chuckled nervously, knowing Leonardo meant every word. This wasn’t just an idle threat—it was a promise. One Leonardo could make real with a mere flick of his wrist. But Orion wasn’t sure their so-called “big boss” would ever let Leonardo go so easily.
Leonardo turned to leave once more, his steps deliberate, the weight of his warning hanging heavy in the air. But Orion’s voice stopped him in his tracks.
“You still haven’t answered my question,” Orion called out. His voice now low, steady. “The one I’ve been asking you for years. Where is Dad’s body?”
Leonardo paused, his back still to Orion. Slowly, he turned, a smirk playing on his lips. “Decaying somewhere, I assume. Didn’t you bury him yourself?” His voice was laced with cold mockery.
“I did,” Orion snapped, his frustration clear, “but that wasn’t our father’s body. I know it.”
For the briefest of moments, Leonardo’s eyes widened, a flash of surprise. Then, just as quickly, his expression darkened, a cruel smile forming. “Don’t ask me about that old man again,” he growled, his voice dripping with venom.
Without another word, Leonardo walked out of the dim room, his figure disappearing into the shadows of the hospital corridor, leaving Orion behind, standing in silence.
Orion exhaled slowly, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He had tried—again—to convince his brother, but deep down, he knew it was pointless. Leonardo’s decisions were final. There was no changing his mind. Not about their father, not about the past, and certainly not about the dark path he now walked.
As he stared after his brother, Orion couldn’t shake the feeling that one day, all of them—the family, the syndicate, even the devil himself—would pay the price for letting Leonardo Giovanni walk free.

HEAD OVER HEELS : CHAPTER 71 – 80
As Leonardo stepped into the hospital, his breath hitched at the sight of the doctor speaking to the small group. His heart pounded erratically in his chest, and the weight of dread settled over him like a storm cloud.
What if she’s not going to be okay? What if something is seriously wrong with her? His mind spiraled into chaos, and for the first time in a long time, fear gripped him. Maybe, just maybe, he should let her go. He couldn’t even protect her from a simple attack. What good was he if he couldn’t keep her safe?
He was ashamed. He had always been so strong, always in control, yet the sight of his precious Angel lying helpless shattered him inside. Would she ever look at him with that same trust in her eyes? She always calmed his chaos while he ignited the fire inside her. They were a match made in heaven… and yet, hell seemed to follow them.
He sighed deeply, his jaw tightening as he caught Nicky waving at him from across the hall. He scoffed, forcing himself to move toward the group despite the emotional whirlwind tearing at his insides.
The doctor let out a chuckle, breaking through the tension. “Leonardo,” he greeted, his tone light but with a flicker of seriousness in his eyes. “She’s stable now. She should wake up in 14 to 24 hours, so… you don’t need to worry about burning down my hospital.” His joke was met with laughter from the others, but Leonardo only scoffed, his face unreadable.
Just then, a voice cut through the room. “Hey, guys!” The familiar sound drew everyone’s attention as Lorenzo approached with a wide grin.
“Look who’s here. It’s been a while, man!” Kendrick greeted him with a pat on the back, though Lorenzo’s smile faltered slightly as his gaze landed on Leonardo, who stood stiff and unapproachable. Lorenzo reached out, intending to pull Leonardo into a hug, but stopped short at the cold, unyielding expression on his face.
Leonardo never wore his emotions on his sleeve, no matter how much they clawed at him from within. But Angel… she made him feel things he didn’t want to. She made him vulnerable.
“How is she now? I went to the house and they told me what happened?” He sighed.
“The doctor said she is fine now” Kendrick replied and Lorenzo sighed.
As the others continued to chat, Leonardo felt the weight of more eyes on him. He turned and met the gaze of Orion, who stood at a distance, a half-smile playing on his lips. Their eyes locked for a brief moment, and Leonardo’s frown deepened.
“Can I see her now?” His voice cut through the air like a knife. The words were simple, but the tone was menacing, more of a threat than a question. The doctor, unfazed, nodded with a small chuckle.
“Yes, you can.” He hadn’t even finished speaking before Leonardo was already striding toward the ward. Serena quickly thanked the doctor, and the rest of the group followed closely behind.
Leonardo’s hands curled into fists as he neared the bed. The sight before him sent a wave of fury crashing through him. There she was—his Angel—lying unconscious, an oxygen mask over her face, her usually vibrant features pale and fragile. Her delicate body, which he had held close countless times, was now vulnerable and helpless. The rage bubbling within him nearly consumed him.
No one had the right to touch her. To harm her. They had provoked the lion, and they would pay dearly for it. Whoever was responsible would soon know the meaning of pain.
Serena held Angel’s hand, her tears falling freely as she cried softly beside the bed. Her grief was palpable, and then suddenly, her sorrow turned to anger. She turned, her eyes blazing as they locked onto Leonardo, and then she gripped his shirt.
“I should’ve fought harder to get her away from you!” Serena’s voice cracked with emotion. “This is all happening because she’s with you! You’re dangerous, Leonardo! Just let her go. She doesn’t deserve this!” She sobbed uncontrollably, her voice rising in desperation. “She doesn’t deserve to suffer because of you!”
Leonardo stood still, his heart aching at her words because a part of him knew she was right. He was dangerous. Anyone who wanted to get to him would go through Angel first. But could he really let her go? Could he walk away from the one person who made him feel alive? He was already addicted to her, consumed by his love for her. All he could do now was protect her, no matter the cost.
“That’s enough!” Matteo snapped, stepping in and pulling Serena away from Leonardo. “Let’s just calm down. The doctor said she’s stable. We just need to be patient for her to wake up.”
“Patient?” Serena scoffed bitterly, her tear-streaked face contorted with pain. “He should stay away from her! What if they come after her again? What if next time she doesn’t survive?” Her voice was raw with fear. “Just leave her alone, Leonardo!”
Leonardo’s eyes darkened, his temper barely held in check as he glared at Serena. But he wouldn’t hurt her—he couldn’t—not when she meant so much to Angel.
He took a step back, his jaw clenched. “Leaving doesn’t mean I’m letting her go,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “I failed to protect her, and I’m ashamed. But I’m not walking away from her. Not now. Not ever.” His gaze bore into Serena’s, his eyes flashing with the intensity of his words. She visibly trembled, gulping down her fear as he turned away.
Without another word, Leonardo stormed out of the room, leaving the tension in the air thick and suffocating.
HEAD OVER HEELS : CHAPTER 71 – 80
SOMEWHERE IN NEW YORK
Sabrina lounged on her plush leather couch, her legs crossed elegantly as she scrolled through her phone. The dim light from the screen cast shadows on her sharp features, her lips curling into a subtle smirk. Her name was trending again, plastered all over social media.
“Of course,” she muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes at the slew of gossip headlines. There it was, yet another video of her and Angel at an event, tabloids speculating about their supposed rivalry.
On screen, a girl was giggling, taking a bite of an apple as she babbled about the “fight” between Sabrina and Angel over Leonardo. Sabrina scoffed, her irritation growing. It was exhausting to see her life reduced to shallow gossip.
“Typical,” she hissed, swiping past the video. But then something else caught her eye—a headline that made her blood run cold.
Her finger froze mid-swipe as the bold title flashed across the screen:
BREAKING: Angel Stabbed! Actress Sabrina implicated in shocking attack.
Sabrina’s breath hitched. Her heart pounded as she stared at the video thumbnail. Wild accusations were spiraling out of control, and they were pointing straight at her.
She clenched the phone tightly in her hand, her jaw set in anger. “What the hell…” she muttered, her pulse racing. Just as she tried to process the chaos unfolding online, her phone rang, the screen flashing the name: MANAGER.
With a deep breath, she answered, “What?”
“What the hell am I hearing, Sabrina? You stabbed someone?!” his voice was loud, almost panicked.
Sabrina’s eyes widened. “What?! I would never! I don’t have it in me to hurt a fly! Yes, we fought, but I would never do something like that.”
The other end of the line was filled with disbelief. “You always find trouble, and now the media’s calling you a murderer!”
“I didn’t do anything!” Sabrina snapped, her voice rising with frustration. “Those idiots in the media don’t know what they’re talking about.”
“Well, they’re running with it, and it’s all over the news. You better fix this fast, or your career’s over.”
Sabrina seethed, hanging up abruptly. She tossed her phone aside, her mind racing. This was far from over, and if anyone thought they could take her down, they were dead wrong.
HEAD OVER HEELS : CHAPTER 71 – 80
(LEONARDO’S MANSION)
Leonardo sat in his study, the flickering city lights outside casting a faint glow through the balcony doors. The glass of wine in his hand felt like ice, but he barely noticed as he downed it in one gulp. The wine was supposed to calm his nerves, but nothing could temper the storm raging inside him. He could still see Angel lying unconscious in the hospital bed, her pale face haunting his thoughts. The image played on a loop in his mind, driving him further into the depths of his own fury.
He gripped the glass so hard his knuckles turned white, his jaw set like stone. The taste of revenge was bitter on his tongue. He wasn’t a man who forgave easily, and this time, he wouldn’t forgive at all. Whoever dared to lay a hand on his little kitten was going to pay—pay with blood. And it would be his hands that delivered the final blow.
The door to his study creaked open. Without turning, Leonardo heard the familiar footsteps of Gabe and the guards trailing behind him. “Capo,” they greeted in unison, bowing in respect. Silence followed. Leonardo didn’t acknowledge them, his gaze still fixed on the dark horizon. His mind was elsewhere, consumed by one thought—retribution.
Gabe took a cautious step forward. “Boss, I’ve been trying to reach you. Your phone was off,” he said, his voice laced with urgency.
Leonardo said nothing. His silence was louder than words, pressing Gabe to get to the point. He needed the name. He needed to know who he was about to destroy.
Gabe hesitated. “The fingerprints, Boss… they’re… confusing.”
Leonardo’s grip tightened around the empty glass, his patience hanging by a thread.
Gabe swallowed, gathering his courage. “We’ve found two sets of prints at the scene. The first matches Orion, and—”
At the mention of Orion’s name, Leonardo’s entire body went rigid. His pulse quickened, and a wave of rage washed over him. Gabe’s words faded into the background as Leonardo rose to his feet, his mind singularly focused on one thing—confrontation.
“Orion?” Leonardo growled, his voice dark and menacing. He stormed past Gabe before the man could even finish his explanation, his boots echoing heavily in the hallway as he descended the stairs. He didn’t care to hear anything else. Rage burned too brightly within him, consuming every rational thought.
He had warned Orion. He had made it crystal clear: Stay away from Angel. And yet, that bastard had gone behind his back, laid his filthy hands on her. Leonardo’s vision darkened with fury, the walls of the mansion blurring as his world tunneled in on one objective—Orion would pay for his betrayal.
He descended the staircase swiftly, his heartbeat syncing with the anger coursing through his veins. As he reached the foyer, there he was—Orion—sitting casually, as if nothing had happened, as if he hadn’t just crossed the line that no one could cross and live to tell about it.
Leonardo’s footsteps were loud and deliberate, and Orion turned at the sound. For a brief second, surprise flickered in his eyes. “Leonardo,” he began, but that was all he could say before Leonardo’s voice cut through the air, venomous and raw.
“How dare you?” Leonardo’s shout reverberated off the mansion walls, his voice thick with barely restrained fury. He advanced on Orion, his face a mask of rage. “I warned you,” he spat, grabbing Orion by the collar and dragging him up from his seat. “I told you not to go near her, and yet you had the audacity to hurt her?”
Orion yanked his arm free from Leonardo’s grip, his own anger rising. “I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about!” he shouted back, trying to defend himself.
But Leonardo didn’t hear him. He didn’t want to. He had already decided Orion’s guilt. He reached into his coat and pulled out a gun, the metallic glint of the barrel reflecting in the dim light.
Orion’s eyes widened at the sight of the weapon, but he stood his ground. “You’ve lost it, Leonardo. I didn’t touch her!”
“I’m going to blow your head off if you think you can lie to me!” Leonardo roared, his finger hovering over the trigger, his breath ragged with fury.
Without warning, Orion lunged forward, trying to knock the gun out of Leonardo’s hand. But Leonardo was faster. The gun went off, the sound deafening in the room. Orion let out a scream of pain as the bullet tore through his hand, blood splattering across the floor. He stumbled back, clutching his wounded hand, his face twisted in agony.
Leonardo stood there, breathing heavily, his eyes devoid of any remorse. He took a step forward, the gun still raised. “I told you,” he hissed. “You don’t touch what’s mine.”
“Boss!” Gabe’s voice rang out as he rushed down the stairs. “Boss, stop! It’s not him!” Gabe skidded to a halt between Leonardo and Orion, his face pale. “Orion’s not the one who hurt Angel. We’ve got new information—fingerprints. The real culprit… it’s Lorenzo.”
The name hit Leonardo like a freight train. His grip on the gun loosened slightly as the weight of Gabe’s words sank in. “Lorenzo?” Leonardo echoed, disbelief washing over him. His gaze flickered, struggling to process the new information. Lorenzo, his friend? The man he had trusted, the man who had always stood by him? It couldn’t be.
“Yes, Boss,” Gabe confirmed, his voice steady. “Lorenzo’s fingerprints were found at the scene. He’s the one responsible for the attack on Angel.”
Leonardo’s world shifted. Rage gave way to confusion, then betrayal. He took a step back, his mind racing. Lorenzo? He had always thought of him as a friend, even through they don’t talk as a friend would But now, the truth was unraveling before him in the most brutal way possible.
“Fuck!” Leonardo cursed, running a hand through his hair. Angel was still in danger. He had wasted precious time confronting the wrong person. “Angel…” he whispered, his heart clenching. She was still lying in that hospital bed, vulnerable and unprotected, while the real threat was still out there with them, probably planning how to finish her off. Lorenzo.
Orion, still clutching his bleeding hand, looked at Leonardo with a mix of anger and confusion. “I told you I didn’t do it,” he said through gritted teeth.
Leonardo ignored him. There was no time for apologies, no time for anything but action. He turned on his heel, storming out of the room with Gabe and the guards trailing behind him. His mind was set on one thing now—finding Lorenzo and making him pay.
As Leonardo marched out of the mansion, the cool night air hit his face, but it did nothing to calm the fire raging within him. The betrayal cut deep, but he wouldn’t let it break him. He would find Lorenzo. And when he did, the consequences would be severe. The man had touched the one person Leonardo would go to war for, and there would be no forgiveness.
This wasn’t over. Not by a long shot.
Angel’s life was still hanging in the balance, and as long as that was the case, Leonardo wouldn’t stop. He couldn’t afford to.
