One of the island guards came in bearing a letter in a brown envelope which he handed to Aimee.
“I found it on a branch of the dandelions outside” he said, bowing before taking his leave.
Aimee read aloud;
To The Luthers…
• Take the guards you sent the university away, else we’ll start kidnapping them too. Stay away from the Kontrol investigation if your lives are important.
“They sent a death threat note to Lord Vann too” Timothy said.
“We’re still dealing with Slade and his moonslave, and now those Kontrol bastards?” Grandpa Cedric said.
Greg was silent, and Aimee sighed.
“I wasn’t very interested before this warning, but now I’m damn interested.” she said.
The ringing of her phone made her leave the patio, picking the call from Elijah.
“Yes? Skunk?”
“I need you to partner with me. The midnight killer might be the same person spying for the Kontrol producers in the university, and I plan to catch him tonight” Elijah said.
“Why should I partner with you?” Aimee rested on the wall as she spoke.
“Cos we work best when we work together. Remember our sweet childhood plays?” Elijah said cornily.
“Stop. I’ll meet you in the university by 7” she replied curtly and hung up.

UOG, REFECTORY*
It’s a table full of food for Twilight and Onyx.
They’re the only ones inside, and Onyx is a full-time eating machine.
The broccoli and cheese are her favorite, then the chicken. She kept tearing it into her mouth with a great appetite, and Twilight just watched her silently, twisting her fork inside her pasta.
“There’s enough fish. You like fish, right? Eat” Onyx tried to feed her, but she shook her head.
“Why? Is it because of Sladie? He’s tough and strong-headed, but trust me he treats you special. All his life, he never shared his bed or space, but he shared his bed and space with you and even let you wear his clothes. What other evidence do you need to know you’re special?” Onyx said, drinking some water.
“Really?” Twilight leaned closer
“True, and don’t defend Tamlin in front of him anymore, he bullied Sladie at the Arcade Home” Onyx continued, licking her oily fingers
“So the bullying story is true” Twilight said slowly.
“Yes! It was brutal” Onyx said.
Rihannon and Damien came in, and Onyx blinked thrice.
“Pasta? Chicken? Beef? Wine? Ouu!” Damien exclaimed, sitting and eating the meals.
“Meet my best friends… Rihannon and Damien.” Twilight introduced.
“Guys, this is Onyx, Slade’s cat” she further said.
“Really? She’s a cat? I’m not surprised though” Rihannon said, eating too.
“It’s Prof Luther after all, the dark-gold eyed monster of Glennville” Damien said with a mouthful of pasta.
From and top rails of the refectory, Slade and Uriel watched them silently like eagles.
“Do you think Onyx is safe with them? I don’t trust that Damien guy. There’s just something about him” Uriel said.
“Onyx can sniff evil, so If Damien was evil, she’d have detected” Slade replied, unable to take his eyes off Twilight who’s currently drinking straw milk.
“Right” Uriel nodded, getting a ding on his phone.
He retrieved it to see a text from Molly.
Molly: Eat dinner with me tonight? I have something important to discuss with you.
He replied instantly.
Uriel: Sure, will come when I’m done attending to my boss.
He left the refectory with Slade afterwards, and Damien’s phone chimed too.
It’s Elijah’s text.
Elijah: Tea tonight?
Damien replied cheerfully.
Damien: Deal.

7PM, INFIRMARY*
Damien came with Rihannon since Twilight is off to her part-time job.
They met Elijah attending to a student with constipation, and they had to wait till he was done.
Elijah came to them all smiles.
“You had to bring your wife too?” He said.
“He’s my best friend” Rihannon rolled eyes.
“Don’t be so defensive” Elijah replied, dropping three mugs on the table.
“Why are we here for tea?” Rihannon asked.
“Chill” Damien said.
“Thanks for saying that” Elijah smiled, pouring tea in the cups.
At the same time, they heard sounds behind.
Rihannon and Damien turned at the same time, but they couldn’t see the face before they were hit in the head.
They lost consciousness, and Aimee came to view smoothly.
“You’re welcome” she said, and Elijah grinned.
He carried Damien on his shoulder.
They took him away, leaving Rihannon at the infirmary.
