HER HEARTLESS MONSTER : CHAPTER 41 – 50
When she got back to the room, Tamlin was already up, Echo too.
“Why the hell are you wet?” Tamlin asked, covering her with the blanket quickly.
“It’s nothing” she smiled, and he nodded simply.
“I have a morning class, I’ll see you later” he said and put on his shoes.
“Why are you still a student when you should be a professor like Slade? I heard you’re age mates” she suddenly asked.
Tamlin looked up and stayed quiet for a beat.
“It’s ok if you don’t wanna talk about it” Twilight quickly said.
“I once dropped out of school after I lost Isobel. I couldn’t do anything with my life for almost six years after her death, and it affected my education badly” he replied.
“How did she die? Isobel” Twilight carefully asked, pitying him already.
“Not a talk for today” Tamlin smiled sadly and finally exited the room.
“I feel for him. He seems nice” Echo spoke.
“Bad things happen to good people” Twilight replied.
“But he’s totally into you! Dude slept on the floor instead of joining Damien in the second room!” Echo gushed.
“Stop it” Twilight bit her lip.
“Oh you feel it too!” Echo winked, and Twilight chuckled.
“Stop it!”
Damien and Rihannon entered the room at once.
“A student really died last night” Rihannon broke the news.
“It’s a guy in final year. He was hanged on the orange tree in the second garden” Rihannon added.
Echo held her breath, and Twilight gulped, her collarbones displaying.
“Oh gawd” she muttered.

10AM*
Slade met Uriel waiting in front of his private elevator when he stepped out of it, and he didn’t bother to wait.
He continued his walk like he didn’t see him, and Uriel rushed after him.
“Another student died last night” he said.
“I know” Slade replied blankly, side-eying the girls gushing at his outfit and scent.
“And this month is coming to an end already. Another student will go missing” Uriel said again.
Slade didn’t talk, his eyes are fixed on the stairs where Twilight is descending with her friends, laughing and chatting with them.
She seems happy, and he dislikes that. Why the fûck is she laughing?
She’s wearing a mini jean skirt and a corset top again. She must love corset a lot, and she’s wearing chain boots. Her white backpack is sling over her right shoulder, and her pearls are on her too, just that she’s wearing only her left earring.
“Your right earring is missing!” Echo suddenly noticed.
“I’ll find it when we return” she replied, and Slade’s eyes froze more as she finally went out of sight.
“Are you done ogling her, boss?” Uriel said beside him.
“What were you saying?” Slade replied, resuming his walk.
“The whole school is already assuming that you’re the 12am killer, but the monthly kidnapper is still unknown.
If we don’t do something about it, they’ll start saying you’re the monthly kidnapper too and things might go south” Uriel replied.
“South isn’t bad” Slade nodded.
“I knew you’d say that, and that’s why I’ve been working on it. I think the missing students are related to the popular elixir” Uriel said, and Slade faced him.
“Kontrol?” He said, and Uriel nodded.
“Rumours says the major ingredient of the elixir is blood from the human tongue, it tallies” Uriel said.
“Like a project? A bastard is somewhere using kidnapped students from this university in a project?” Slade smirked darkly.
“Exactly” Uriel replied, and Slade’s phone beeped, reminding him of his meeting with Lord Vann.
“We talk about this when I return” he said and left Uriel in the tower.
Uriel sighed out, and someone suddenly tapped him.
He turned to see Molly.
“Hey, you’re the one who took me to my tower” he said.
“Sure, you on your way out?” She smiled, and he shrugged.
They left the tower together.
