“Is everything alright?”. Jade asked softly and the turned from glaring at the ceiling to stare at her.
“You said you had no supernatural abilities. Then what happened earlier at the market?”. The Emperor asked walking towards kneeling Jade.
“I..I don’t know what really came over me…
“You think lying would save you right now?”. Emperor Damien glared and Jade quickly shook her head.
“I’m not lying I really don’t know…
“Let me see your palms”. The Emperor cut her off and she stretched forth her hands.
The Emperor brought his out also comparing both palms whit his sharp gaze while Jade stared at him confusion.
“How come you have that mark also?”. The Emperor asked moving more closer and grabing her wrist and Jade shivered at his touch. It was the first time he would hold her hand.
The Emperor on the otherhand was shocked staring at the phoenix golden sign right at the center of her palms though it was a little faint compared to his that was very clear.
“You don’t have your full powers”. The Emperor muttered letting go of her and she blinked in confusion.
“Your powers aren’t complete yet and you ruined an entire market filled with people?!”. The Emperor said not hiding his shocked look and Jade held his robe tight as she still knelt.
“What’s all this you’re saying? Just he’ll me bring back Ming i know its what you can do…
“Caring about your reckless lover one when you’re not safe yourself? And you wonder why i call you stupid?”. The Emperor scoffed shoving her away from him and she fell to the floor hurting her elbow.
“Goodness!”. The Emperor groaned holding his own elbow tight and Jade stood up sharply looking at him.
“Are you mocking my pain now? It was me who fell but you’re the yelping in pains do i look that vulnerable to you?!”. Jade snapped hurtfully and the Emperor pointed at her looking pissed.
“What happened to you changing? It was all you bluffing right? You think i have all the time in the world to joke around with you?!”. The Emperor snapped and Jade the hand of his robe folding it tight in her palm, making the Emperor blink at her grip on his robe.
“Please…huh? I beg you. Just help me this once in your life…you claim I’m your mistress but you never really got me any gift like every normal Emperor would..
“So in all sense I’m abnormal?”. The Emperor questioned eyeing her with frown on his face and Jade quickly bowed but instead cause of how close they were she hit head with him and the Emperor held his forehead tight in pain.
“Don’t bow if you’re not used to it okay?! Don’t give me an headache, you’re enough headache already!”. The Emperor said and Jade nodded making to bow again but the Emperor quickly held her head tight with his two hands, some part of his palms touching her soft cheeks and Jade was stock with a straight face as she exchanged stares with the Emperor.
“Good this way”. The Emperor finally said moving away from her.
“Ming…
“You’re in no position to ask anything of me”. The Emperor said walking to sit on his desk and Jade followed him but stopped when the Emperor sat down.
“But…its your responsibility as an Emperor right? What’s stopping you?”. Jade asked and the Emperor threw her a glare.
“That also applies to the people you murdered right? You think you won’t get executed to cool this whole tension? How come the only thing you think about is the reckless kid who was so stupid following everything you did! You wanted a puppet right?
Now you’ve killed him together with everyone else who had nothing to do with you in the start!”. The Emperor spat and a dropped from Jade’s eyes.
“How come I don’t remember any of what you said. I only remember seeing your cruel soldiers chop my friend’s head off his neck but i don’t remember killing anyone else.
I would never do that, I’m powerless remember!!”. Jade snapped loudly making the whole chamber shake, as more tears poured down her eyes. She was also shocked at how the chamber shook at her voice.
The Emperor stood up from his seat in rage as he walked to her, his eyes teary cause of her.
“Control your destructive temper if you don’t want me to do it for you!”. Emperor Damien warned.
“Did…I just do that? What’s really happening? How come I’m suddenly a monster?”. Jade asked cluelessly staring at her palms and the Emperor showed her his palm.
“You’re a phoenix not a monster. But you’ll become a monster if you don’t learn how to control your temper”. The Emperor said and Jade held his palm staring imittently at it.
“How come yours is more glistening than mine? And if i really killed alot of people like you stated why aren’t you angry or even throw me into the dungeon?”. Jade asked and the Emperor took his hand from her.
“I get mad whenever I feel like. Don’t decide that for me”. Emperor Damien replied placing his hands behind his back.
“You only got me more confused you’re not lying are you?…
Jade’s words was cut short when she found herself in the Fobidden Forest and not the Emperor’s chamber.
The Emperor stood up a little far from her his face straight as he glared up at the sky, Jade noticed the sword of life and death on the rock right in front of her, but she crossed it, walking to the Emperor.
Then suddenly the cloud parted and an elderly figure in a white and gold royal attire appeared on it smiling down at them.
“Start talking”. Emperor Damien said and Shenghai frowned at him, while Jade only moved closer standing behind the emperor.
“Whose he? Is he a deity?”. Jade asked the Emperor.
“Ask him whatever you want to. Its his duty to clear your doubts”. Emperor Damien replied.
“Shut your tongue there! Do i look like a pushover to you?!”. Shenghai snapped and Jade gasped holding the Emperor’s arm.
“He just talked to you rudely! Does he knows you’re the Emperor?! Aren’t you going to purnish him?”. Jade asked.
“I should right? But i don’t hurt old people i have a dignity to live up”. Emperor Damien said and Jade nodded facing Shanghai.
“He’s really old. Isn’t that place too high for him?! What if he falls and dies?!….
“Shut up you isolent girl!! Now I see why you two have bonded together its cause you’re both vile and ill mannered!! Arrogant two!!”. Shenghai yelled in rage and Jade faced the Emperor.
“What does inso…bent…vile and…arogent means?”. Jade asked and the Emperor faced her.
“You’ll know once you study. But now don’t take his words too serious, he soeaks nonsense a lot”. The Emperor said and Jade nodded.
“Look at you two acting like a loving couple! You should thank me Damien I begged the heavenly king and he truly sent you your redeemer, you won’t be needing your mask and gloves anymore”. Shanghai chuckled.
“Is he saying another nonsense?”. Jade asked and the Emperor faced her then he stared down at her hand that was still holding his arm and she instantly let go of him.
“You have no questions to ask right? Let’s go back”. The Emperor said turing to leave.
“No! I have a lot of questions to ask”. Jade said and the Emperor stopped on his track.
“If you want to ask who you are, it’s pretty obvious you’re a phoenix, but I don’t know what type you are. But from the looks of things your powers are not different from that of your King, maybe that’s why you two share the same emotions. Shenghai said and the Emperor eyes widened while Jade blinked in confusion.
“We really share the same emotions?! That means if she dies i too? What in Yongxi are you saying?!”. Emperor Damien snapped loudly.
“Like I’m the one in charge! Die and get your answers from the heavenly king yourself! I’m just the second in Command!”. Shenghai snapped back and Emperor Damien scoffed, Jade still didn’t get what they meant.
“Why did you scoff? Do you think I’m lying?”. Shenghai glared.
“If you’re not then why now? We weren’t connected from the start so why now?!”. Emperor Damien questioned.
“It’s cause she just unleasehed her powers you fool! How can a phoenix be connected to someone who hasn’t found herself yet! The bond only grew cause she now has half of powers with her you nonchalant ruler!”. Shenghai said and Emperor Damien stood dumbstruck.
“You really need to watch your manners old sir he’s the Emperor. Even my father respects him a lot”. Jade cautioned shocking Shenghai and the Emperor suddenly smirked annoying him more.
“But you don’t respect me”. The Emperor muttered.
“I’m done talking to you two! Don’t summon me next time if you don’t want to meet your doom”. Shenghai glared almost withering into the clouds.
“Wait…if I’m so powerful does it means i can resurrect the dead….
Jade was interrupted by Shenghai’s laughter.
“Resurrect the dead as what?! god of live?! You mortals never seize to shock me with your stupidity”. Shenghai laughed mockingingly and Jade frowned.
“It was just a question she asked. You don’t have to be too petty”. Emperor Damien countered and Shenghai sighed.
“No you can’t! Whoever’s dead is dead and gone! Unless you want to perform a black magic which is highly prohibited and purnishable to death! Everything happens according to fate! No one’s permitted to cheat destiny”. Shenghai said and Jade’s face fell, fighting back her tears.
“And as for your second question?..
Shenghai said stretching his hands towards her and a beam of light reflected on her forehead as she memeries from her earlier rampage returned to her head and in shock she fell to the ground in shock holding her head like it would fall off.
“You’ll surely get punished for wasting so many lives. A lot of people had sent offerings to me already so it’s best you do the right thing Damien or get purnished also”. Shenghai said seriously this time before disappearing.
“Noooo!!! Please come back and tell me the truth! I didn’t just do that! I…almost killed children also. I want to go back to my days of being powerless please take this cursed power from me!!”. Jade screamed in tears as she stood up running like she could reach the sky, but she suddenly met herself in her chamber with the doors and window heavily locked and guarded.
And she broke down on the ground in tears as she hugged her laps tight crying into it.
“I’m a killer. After causing Ming’s death i killed a lot of also? I deserve to die! I deserve to die!”. Jade cried louder into her already drenched laps.
