INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 101 – 110
Natalie felt a rush of joy when she saw Luke approach her. She had asked to meet him at the library where they first met.
“Hi, Natalie,” Luke smiled.
“I had to message you on Instagram because I don’t have your number,” she said, feeling overwhelmed to see him again.
“It’s fine. Why did you ask me to meet?”
“I came to give you this,” Natalie said, handing him a book.
“Whoa! You already published your book?” he asked with a smile.
“Yes, but I haven’t made many copies yet. I wanted you to be the first person to read it. I poured everything into it because you inspired me.”
“I’m glad I inspired you,” he smiled again.
If only he knew how much his smile affected her, he might have stopped smiling.
“Ouch!” Natalie suddenly cried out, pretending to be in pain.
“What’s wrong?” Luke asked, standing up.
“I’m feeling sharp pain in my feet,” Natalie said, wincing.
“Let me take a look,” Luke said, kneeling down to check her feet.
“They seem fine. Why are you feeling…”
Luke’s words were cut off as Natalie suddenly kissed him.
His eyes widened in shock as her lips pressed possessively against his.

Luke, recovering from the shock of the kiss, pushed Natalie away from his lips.
“What the heck was that?” he asked in a rage, his eyes expressing the anger he felt.
Realizing what she had just done, Natalie slapped herself. She had tried to resist, she really had, but he was just too tempting.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to,” she pleaded.
“You didn’t mean to? You kissed me, and you’re saying it wasn’t intentional?” Luke snapped, wiping his lips as if he could erase the taste of her lips.
“I’m sorry. I lost control,” Natalie said, regretting her actions. She should have held back, no matter the temptation.
“Why on earth did you lose control, Natalie? You’re married! What were you thinking when you kissed me?” Luke raged again.
This was the first time his lips had touched another woman besides Cecelia, and he felt like he had cheated. But if only he knew what his beloved wife was doing behind his back, he wouldn’t have considered Natalie’s sudden kiss to be a betrayal.
“I’m sorry, Luke. I promise it won’t happen again,” Natalie said, trying to touch him, but Luke stepped away.
“Don’t even think about it, Natalie! I consider you a friend, which is why I came here to see you, despite my tight schedule. And this is how you repay me? I’m a married man!” he shouted, almost drawing the attention of people in the library.
Natalie was on the verge of tears, but what was the point of crying when she had brought this whole drama upon herself? With that thought, she fought back the tears threatening to fall.
“I’m sorry,” she apologized again.
Luke ran a hand through his hair and exhaled deeply.
“Keep your sorry to yourself. Let’s not meet again,” he said before walking out of the library, leaving Natalie shattered.
If she could turn back time, she would have chosen Luke. When her younger self met Lewis years ago, she thought he was her forever. But the man she once considered her forever now only brought her pain.
She could no longer walk, thanks to the man she had once loved.
“Ma’am, is everything okay?” her driver, who had just walked in, asked when he saw her crying.
The tears she had been trying to hold back finally fell as soon as Luke walked out on her. Wiping them away, she gave him a sad smile.
“I’m fine.”
“Do you want to go home or spend more time in the library?” her driver asked. His dark, slicked-back hair made him look younger than his age.
“There’s nothing for me here anymore. Let’s go home,” she said with another sad smile.
As her driver pushed her wheelchair to the car, her mind was still on Luke. He was like an angel, and she wished she had met him before Lewis.
