INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 111 – 120
**RICHARD’S VILLA**
Luke opened his eyes and found Romina sleeping in a chair next to him. She hadn’t left his side and had spent the night there.
He looked around and, judging by the structure of the house, realized it was Richard’s.
Luke cleared his throat, and Romina, who wasn’t a deep sleeper, woke up.
“Luke! You’re awake!” she said, her voice full of relief.
Luke didn’t say anything, still feeling the sting of Cecelia’s betrayal.
“I’ll get Richard and Kristin.” She rushed out and returned with both Richard and Kristin.
“How are you feeling? What kind of breakfast do you want? Name it, and it’ll be ready for you,” Richard offered.
“Should I get you water first?” Kristin added.
Luke chuckled at their concern. “I didn’t fall sick; I just had my heart broken. Stop acting like I just woke up from a coma,” he said with a small smile.
Kristin sat beside him. “There, keep smiling. She isn’t worth your tears.”
“Thanks, buddy.”
“You should also thank Romina; she stayed up all night watching over you.”
“Really, Mina?” Luke’s gaze shifted to Romina.
Romina smiled shyly and stood up. “I’m still job hunting. I should go now. Bye, Richard. Bye, Kristin. Bye, Luke,” she said, waving swiftly before rushing out of the room.
Kristin chuckled.
“So, buddy, what would you like to eat? I’ll make it for you.”
“Anything my buddy brings, I’ll gladly eat.”
“I’m going to prepare my specialty for you.”
“Forevermore, I thought that was for me alone,” Richard teased.
“My heart is yours, Mr. Grouchy. Luke’s going through a rough time, so he deserves a taste of my specialty. I’ll be back.” Kristin patted Luke and, rising onto her toes, kissed Richard before leaving.
“You get jealous over food too?” Luke asked with a grin.
“You’re lucky your heart was broken; otherwise, I’d have killed you,” Richard said with a smirk, causing Luke to chuckle.
“Feeling better?”
“I’m trying. Like Kristin said, Cecelia isn’t worth my tears.”
“What are you going to do now?”
“File for divorce, for sure. She’s been having an affair behind my back. I can’t keep a woman like that.
It’s going to hurt, but I’m only twenty-eight. I still have time to rebuild my life. Maybe I shouldn’t have married so early.”
“Is the heartbreak making you talk too much? My ears ache from all this,” Richard said, gesturing dramatically. Luke laughed, and Richard smiled lightly.
“Take a break from work. Come back whenever you feel ready.”
“Thanks, Richard.”
“Don’t thank me. That’s what friends do for each other. I told you before—I see you as a friend, not an employee, and definitely as a younger brother.”
Luke scoffed. “Must you rub it in that you’re older?”
“Should I treat you like a big brother or not?”
“Of course, big brother.” Luke smiled, and Richard patted his shoulder.
