As she sang along with the band in her cracked voice, Luke kept chuckling.
The concert lasted for an hour until it was over, and people began leaving until it was just them on the street.
“Hope your neck isn’t aching,” she said.
Luke smiled and shook his head, his hand going to the back of his neck.
“Thanks for accompanying me to the concert of my favorite band,” Romina said with a smile.
“It’s nothing, really. I had nothing to do at home anyway.”
“How are you coping living alone?” Romina asked, her eyes darting nervously from Luke to the ground.
“If you’re not confident in your question, why bother asking?”
“I don’t want to bring back the pain, but at the same time, I’m worried about you.”
“I’m fine. Though the memories of Cecelia still occupy the house, it’s worth it. I lived with Cecelia since my high school days.”
“I shouldn’t have asked; I’m sorry,” Romina apologized, biting her lip.
“It’s fine, Mina,” Luke chuckled.
“I will go home now, Luke. Thanks for coming with me,” she smiled, her hazel eyes shining at him.
“I’ll take you home.”
“You don’t have to, Luke. Coming to the concert with me is fine. I’ll just walk home and…”
Luke held her hand, preventing her from talking.
“I insist. I’ll take you home,” he said with a smile. Without letting go of her hand, they began walking toward his car together.
Romina smiled shyly as she walked with Luke, secretly inhaling his fragrance.

Only a dim light illuminated the room as Cecelia angrily slammed her hands on the table, her eyes blazing with fury. Memories of Luke holding another woman’s hand, smiling, flooded her mind.
She had seen him with Romina, but she didn’t know who the she was.
“Was it that easy for him to move on?” Cecelia fumed, her fists clenched. “I know I broke him, but I didn’t expect him to be smiling and holding hands with someone else! I thought he said he loved me!”
“This is all Kristin’s fault. Luke wouldn’t be smiling and holding hands if she hadn’t told him what she saw!”
Her gaze fell on a picture of Kristin lying on the floor. She walked over, anger radiating from her.
“You have a happy life with Richard, don’t you? That’s going to end soon. I don’t mind working with the devil to make sure you suffer!” Cecelia hissed, her veins popping as her rage boiled over.

Adriana sneaked out of the house, ensuring she was out of earshot before answering her phone.
“Why have you been ignoring my calls?” the voice demanded.
“I didn’t do it intentionally. I need to be cautious about when and where I answer,” Adriana replied.
“How’s is our plan so far?”
“Nothing much” Adriana replied.
“What do you mean by nothing much? The Hernandez family should be making you their heiress. Haven’t they done that?” the voice pressed.
“They talked about it, but they haven’t finalized anything.”
“This isn’t how we planned it, Adriana!” the voice shouted, frustration evident.
“Take a chill pill, Aunt.”
“Why should I? What have you been doing lately?” the voice retorted.
“Nothing,” Adriana snapped.
“Adriana!”
“Don’t shout at me, Aunt! Maybe you’ve forgotten how you trained me. I’m the Adriana they thought they lost, but you already know I’m not their real daughter!”
“That’s exactly what I want. I switched you with their child for a reason. I want Ophelia and Julio to keep believing you’re their daughter while I make their real child suffer,” the woman said, a smirk evident in her voice.
