Richard chuckled as he looked at his phone, then noticed Luke’s presence in the office.
“Luke?”
“Finally, you noticed me after I’ve been standing here for five minutes. Whoa, you’ve really changed. Is this what they call character growth?” Luke chuckled.
“Why are you here?”
“I’m back at work.”
“No, go home, Luke. What happened to you is enough to kill someone. I told you, you can take as many days off as you need.”
“Staying at home will just prolong the pain. If I want to get rid of it, I need to distract myself, which is why I’m back at work.”
“Luke…”
“I’m not going home, Richard. I’ve taken the breaks I needed. It’s time to move on,” Luke said with a smile.
Richard sighed. “If you say so. Check which vacationers are booked in today.”
“Right on that, boss,” Luke chuckled as he left.
“I really hope he’s not pretending to be okay,” Richard muttered to himself with a sigh.
His phone rang, and when he checked the caller, he saw it was an unsaved number. Regardless, he picked up.
“Hello?”
“Richard,” Adriana cried.
“Adriana?”
“Richard, please, I need your help.”
“Why should I help you when you nearly let my wife drown without lifting a finger?” Richard asked coldly.
“I know I wronged your wife, but I’m sorry. Please, help me!” Adriana cried louder over the phone.
“What kind of help?”
“Please come over to the house. I did something bad, and I need your help. I called you because I consider you my brother. Please don’t abandon me.”
“Fine. I’m coming,” Richard said before ending the call. As he left his office, he ran into Luke.
“Going somewhere?”
“I’ll be back,” Richard replied, taking the elevator. Once he reached his car, he drove to Julio’s house.
“Where’s Adriana?” he asked one of the maids.
“She’s in her room. She screamed earlier, but now she’s refusing to open the door.”
“Where are Dad and Ophelia?”
“They’re at the company,” the maid replied.
Richard nodded and went upstairs to Adriana’s room. He tried to open the door, but it was locked.
“Adriana!” He knocked, but there was no response.
Fearing something bad had happened, he forcefully opened the door—only to find Adriana naked.
“You finally came. I’ve been waiting for you. Take a good look at me, Richard. I’m more voluptuous than Kristin, and more attractive. You can have all of me,” Adriana said, running her hands over her naked body.
Richard just stared at her, and Adriana smiled even more.
“I can see you’re captivated. Go ahead, you can have all of me. Do whatever you want. I won’t object,” Adriana said seductively.
Richard’s hands reached into his pocket, and after a few moments, he spoke.
“You think I’d fall for your skeleton, multicolored body? Put your clothes on, or you’ll find one of your smelly boobs in a lab for testing,” Richard said, not joking.
Adriana’s hands immediately covered her breast.
