INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 131 – 140

Kathryn smiled as she waited patiently for Richard, who had promised to pick her up from school. While she was waiting, two of her classmates approached her.

“It’s Kathryn,” the first kid said.

“What do you want? I already told you I only make friends with intelligent kids like me,” Kathryn replied.

The second girl laughed sarcastically and said, “And you think we want to be friends with you? At first, I did, but after what I heard, I don’t anymore.”

“What do you mean?” Kathryn asked.

“I always tell my mommy how smart you are, and she wanted to meet you. But after seeing your mom drop you off, she told me I shouldn’t be friends with you because your mommy is a bad mommy!” the first girl said.

“My mommy isn’t bad! She’s a nice woman!” Kathryn defended Kristin.

“She’s bad because she doesn’t even know who your daddy is. My mom said she was there when the truth about your mommy came out at a party.

Your mommy is bad because she doesn’t know your daddy! You’re pretending someone else is your daddy! Your mommy is bad!”

“Take back what you said! My mom isn’t a bad mommy!” Kathryn snapped, her tiny hands clenched.

“Your mommy is bad! She’s a bad mommy!” The two kids mocked her.

Angry, Kathryn grabbed their hair, and the two kids screamed and cried, but she didn’t let go until a teacher intervened.

The school called Richard, and he arrived as quickly as possible. In the principal’s office, he found Kathryn sitting while the parents of the two kids were present. Their daughters’ hair was disheveled, thanks to Kathryn.

“Baby Kathy,” he called, and Kathryn ran to hug him. After breaking the hug, she looked up at him with tearful eyes.

“I didn’t mean to start the fight, Daddy Richard. They called my mommy a bad mommy because she doesn’t know who my real daddy is. They said my mommy is bad,” Kathryn cried.

“Don’t cry, okay. Daddy Richard is going to take care of this,” Richard assured her.

With a cold demeanor, he approached one of the kid’s parents. Recognizing her from Ophelia’s party, he grabbed her collar and lifted her from the ground.

“How dare you tell your stupid kid to call my wife a bad mommy?” His voice was calm but dangerous. The cold look in his eyes terrified the woman.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Richard,” the woman trembled.

“Sorry? Will sorry fix the damage you’ve caused my daughter?” Richard roared, scaring everyone in the room except Kathryn, who had tears in her eyes.

“It won’t happen again. I’ll never badmouth your wife again,” the woman stammered, her voice still trembling.

The principal and the other parent were too scared to speak.

“There are two people I don’t joke with: my wife and my daughter. Who cares if she’s a product of my wife’s mistake in the past? She’s still my daughter! And if anyone dares mention it again, they better be ready for their grave because I’ll make sure of it!” Richard warned, his cold aura filling the room, sending chills down their spines.

He let go of the woman, and she fell to the floor.

“Do either of you have something to say to me?” he asked, directing the question to the principal and the other parent.

They shook their heads, trembling.

“Good.” He walked back to Kathryn, scooped her up from the floor, and left the room.

When they got to the car, Kathryn still had a sullen look on her face.

“Should Daddy Richard get you your favorite ice cream?” he asked with a smile, but Kathryn didn’t brighten up.

“Baby Kathy?”

“What if my real daddy comes? Will you give me to him?” Kathryn asked, her tears flowing again.

“Why are you asking that?”

“I used to wish I could meet my real daddy, but now that I know you, I don’t want any other daddy but you. Please don’t give me away if my real daddy comes for me,” Kathryn pleaded, crying.
