Adriana chuckled. “I told you that you wouldn’t be able to fool Richard. You may have done it before, but that was a different story. Richard isn’t like Julio and Ophelia, who were dumb enough to leave the entire DNA test to Mason. He was able to manipulate the result, which convinced them I was their daughter. But Richard is nothing like Julio and Ophelia. If he were easily fooled, he wouldn’t be a billionaire.”
“Just shut up!” Tabitha snapped.
Adriana rolled her eyes and sat back on the couch, lighting a cigarette.
“So your plan to take Kathryn hostage has failed. You can’t get under Richard and Kristin’s skin anymore,” Adriana said, exhaling smoke.
“And who said I can’t? I am Paulina; I always have a plan B.”
“What’s your plan now? You said you’d help pay off my debt,” Paul said.
“That’s why we need Kathryn. Richard dared to lay a finger on me because of Kristin.”
“What you did to him was nothing compared to what he did to you,” Adriana interjected, but she looked away when Tabitha shot her a glare.
“You better secure Julio and Ophelia’s wealth under your name, or you’ll rot in my hell, understood?”
Adriana reluctantly nodded.
“So what do you want to do with Kathryn?” Adriana asked.
“I want to see both Richard and Kristin in pain. He loves his dear wife too much, and if she’s sad, that means Richard will be sad too. Seeing him suffer is what I crave,” Tabitha smirked.
“Are you really his mother?” Paul asked, and Adriana chuckled.
“Should I send you to an early grave and give you the answer in the afterlife?” Tabitha said, her voice and expression cold, like a heartless demon.
Paul shook his head slightly. “What should I do?”
“Well, our plan A to take Kathryn failed, so we’re moving to plan B. We’re going to abduct that little girl and kill her,” Tabitha smirked.
“What?!” Adriana gasped in shock.
“You’re joking, right? You wouldn’t actually kill a six-year-old child, would you?” Adriana asked.
“Yes, I will. Kristin ruined my plan to crawl back into Richard’s life. Hurting her means hurting Richard.”
“This wasn’t the plan,” Adriana said.
“I make the rules here, so I can change and adjust them as I please. I’ll still handle Julio and Ophelia, but right now Kristin needs to pay for ruining my plans for my dearest son, Richard,” Tabitha said, grinning wickedly.
Adriana swallowed hard, feeling uneasy about the new plan.

**JULIO’S MANSION**
Adriana entered the house, her mind replaying Tabitha’s words about killing Kathryn.
“Where have you been? I was worried,” Julio asked.
“I just went out alone. Where’s Ophelia?”
“Ophelia?” Julio furrowed his eyebrows at how she called Ophelia by her name instead of ‘Mom.’
“I meant Mom,” Adriana faked an innocent smile. She was trained to be manipulative, so it worked on Julio.
“She’s already asleep.”
Adriana nodded and tried to leave, but Julio held her hand.
“Are you alright, my child?”
*I’m not your child. Your real child is someone else,* Adriana thought to herself before smiling and nodding.
“Yes, I’m fine, Dad.”
“By the end of this month, Skyline will be hosting its anniversary. I’m going to transfer all my wealth to your name. You’ll be able to handle the company, right?”
“Yes, Dad. Thank you so much,” Adriana said, hugging him. A sad expression crossed her face, but she smiled at him when the hug ended.
“I’ll be in my room.”
Julio nodded, and Adriana went to her room. Once inside, she took out a file containing Kristin’s background information.
She had stolen it from Ophelia, which is how Tabitha and Paul knew about Kristin’s life.
*We are going to abduct that little girl and kill her.* Tabitha’s words echoed in her ears.
“Killing a little girl wasn’t part of the plan. All she said was that she’d ruin the Hernandezes, and now she wants to kill someone? A little girl? I might be evil, but I can’t kill a child. Richard will be devastated if Tabitha goes through with this. What should I do?” Adriana bit her lip.
“Should I tell Richard about this?” she muttered to herself.
She quickly grabbed her phone and called Richard. He didn’t answer until the fourth call.
“Why are you calling me?” Richard’s voice was harsh over the phone.
Adriana swallowed hard, unsure if this was the right thing to do.
“If you don’t have anything to say, I’m hanging up.”
“Wait, Richard!” Adriana said, swallowing nervously.
“What?” Richard asked and Adriana swallowed hard again.
“There’s something you need to know. It’s about Tabitha.”
“Tabitha?”
