A few seconds after he left, the doctor approached them, and Richard and Kristin stood up.
“It usually takes days for a DNA test, but with Richard Hernandez, anything is possible,” the doctor said.
“What did the results say? Is it a match?” Richard asked, uninterested in the doctor’s commentary on his past.
“It’s a 0% match,” the doctor replied.
“0% match? What does that mean?” Kristin asked.
“It means Paul isn’t Kathryn’s biological father,” the doctor answered, and both Kristin and Richard exchanged glances.
“Are you sure about this? Because he clearly came to us stating he is Kathryn’s father,” Richard asked, while Kristin’s eyes were fixed on the DNA result paper. It clearly stated that Paul had no relationship with Kathryn.
“I’m sure of it, Richard. Yes, DNA tests can easily be manipulated these days, but I’m a doctor with ethics. I can’t go against my medical principles. Where’s this Paul who claims to be Kathryn’s father?” the doctor asked.
“He went to the restroom. He’s a dead man for playing such games,” Richard said angrily as he headed to the restroom, while Kathryn held Kristin’s hand.
“Will Daddy Richard give me to that ugly man?” Kathryn asked in a sad tone.
“He won’t. That ugly man isn’t your daddy.”
“Yay! I’m staying with Daddy Richard forever!” Kathryn jumped in excitement.
Kristin smiled slightly, her mind racing, trying to figure out who might be Kathryn’s real father.
Meanwhile, Richard searched the men’s restroom for Paul, but he was nowhere to be found.
Richard noticed a janitor fixing one of the toilets and quickly approached him.
“Did you see a man walk in here?” he asked.
“So many men come to the restroom. How can I possibly know which one you mean?”
“He has almond-shaped gray eyes and was wearing a traditional Philippine outfit. Does that ring a bell?” Richard asked, and the janitor thought for a moment.
“I didn’t notice his eyes, but I saw someone leaving the hospital with that outfit.”
“When was that?” Richard asked.
“Just a few minutes ago,” the janitor replied, and Richard quickly left the restroom.
He rushed towards the exit of the hospital and looked around outside, but there was no sign of Paul.
“Fuck!” he muttered angrily.

Paul rushed inside the warehouse where Tabitha and Adriana were waiting.
“Where’s Kathryn?” Tabitha asked, looking around.
“I couldn’t get her,” Paul replied.
“Why not?”
“You didn’t tell me Richard Hernandez was like that! He looks terrifying, and I had to leave before he figured out I was lying.”
“Did you tell him everything I instructed you to say?” Tabitha asked again.
“I did, but he didn’t believe me and insisted on a DNA test! I said I would do it myself, just like you told me to, but he insisted on doing it himself. Even if I were Kathryn’s real father, he wouldn’t have handed her over to me,” Paul said, removing the gray contact lenses from his eyes.
“He wasn’t fooled,” Tabitha muttered.
