Painful tears streamed down Kristin’s face as she collapsed to the floor.

“Kristin!” Gladys and Romina rushed to her side.

“I need to see my husband. My heartbeat needs me,” Kristin sobbed, her voice cracking with every word. Like someone possessed, she bolted out of the house.

“Kristin!” Gladys and Romina called after her, but she was already running down the street barefoot, ignoring her pregnancy. The agony she felt was worse than any torment. How could Kathryn be missing, and Richard shot, all in one day?

It was driving her mad. It felt like the world had turned against her, and now she was suffering for past sins she couldn’t even remember committing.

She didn’t stop running until she reached the hospital, where she met Julio, Kathryn, and, unexpectedly, Ophelia.

“Mommy!” Kathryn cried as she ran to Kristin. She hugged her tightly before pulling away moments later.

“Mommy, it’s Daddy Richard. There was so much blood. He couldn’t move, Mommy,” Kathryn wept, and Kristin stood frozen, her tears falling silently.

Julio approached her, gently patting her shoulder. Kristin looked at him through tear-filled eyes, her body trembling.

“I need to see my husband,” she whispered, her tears streaming down her face.

“He’s still in the OR. The doctors are doing everything they can,” Julio said, his voice pained.

Ophelia sat off to the side, her face unreadable, betraying no emotion.

Moments later, Gladys and Romina rushed in. “Where’s Richard?” she asked.

“Still in the OR,” Julio replied.

“Grandma!” Kathryn cried, hugging her. “Daddy Richard tried to protect me. That’s why he was shot. It’s all my fault!” she sobbed, and Gladys embraced her, consoling her.

Meanwhile, Kristin stood as if lifeless, her tears falling in silence. Romina stayed close, ready to catch her if she collapsed.

Luke appeared, accompanied by FBI agents. His red, tear-filled eyes made it clear he cared deeply for Richard.

“Did you find the person who shot my son?” Julio demanded.

Kristin was too weak to speak, only able to cry quietly.

“No, we haven’t. We searched the entire area, but they were gone. Richard called us, but by the time we arrived, he was already unconscious,” said Mark, the leader of the FBI team.

“What about the warehouse?” Kathryn asked, catching everyone’s attention.

“Warehouse?” Luke asked.

“Yes. There are warehouses deep in the woods. Tabitha took me there when she kidnapped me.”

“Tabitha? Richard’s mother?” Romina asked, and Kathryn nodded.

“We’ll search the woods. I doubt she’ll still be there, but we’ll keep investigating,” Mark assured them before leaving with his team.

“Any news from the doctors?” Luke asked, his voice cracking. Romina shook her head.

Luke’s eyes found Kristin, who stood motionless, her tears flowing.

“Richard is a fighter. He’ll pull through. He won’t leave you, Kathryn, or his unborn baby,” Luke said, trying to comfort her. Kristin only stared at him, her tears endless.
