INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 41 – 50
•THREE DAYS LATER, LAS VEGAS•
Richard stared at his phone, like he was expecting a call from someone. He wasn’t even concentrating on what Luke was saying.
“That’s all we need for the opening. Is there something you’d like to add?” Luke asked, but Richard’s eyes were glued on his phone.
“Richard?”
Luke knocked his hand on the table and Richard comes back from the world of thinking.
“Were you saying something?” He asked.
Luke’s jaw dropped.
“Are you trying to say all the speech I just said, you didn’t hear any of it?”
Richard kept mute.
“You miss her, right?” Luke asked, smiling.
“Miss who?”
“Firefly… sorry, I forgot you’re the only one you can call her that name. I meant to say Kristin, you miss her, right? That’s why you keep on looking at your phone, waiting for her call, right?” Luke smiled.
“I don’t miss her!” He snapped.
“Then why are you looking at your phone?”
“I’m just checking the screen!” Richard drops his phone.
“That’s unlike you. Are you sure you don’t miss her?”
“Hey Luke, do you want to see me get angry? You think I have forgotten how you scolded me like you were the boss, huh?”
“I will just repeat my speech. The opening…”
“Gosh! Why can’t she just call and tell me she is okay! She is just making me worry unnecessarily” Richard stated, picking up his phone.
“He misses her” Luke muffled to himself, smiling.
“Did you say something?”
“No I didn’t. Should I continue the speech?”
“Save it for next time” He said, and drops the phone again.
“If you say so, Richard” Luke turns to leave.
Richard’s phone rang and he quickly answered the phone without checking the caller.
“Hello, Firefly”
Luke turned and smiled at Richard, mischievously.
“It’s me, not Firefly”
Richard looked at the caller, and it was indeed Luke.
“You’re so fucking dead, Luke!”
Luke laughed and took to his heels, Richard went after him.

Kristin kept smiling as she helped her mom in the farmland. She was back to dressing like a farmer’s daughter.
“When will you be going back to Las Vegas?” Gladys asked.
“Are you pushing me away?”
“No. I’m just worried, because you have a job there, won’t you be fired?”
Kristin remembers Richard and smiled; “No I won’t, my boss might be grouchy, but he is super nice”
“Really?”
Kristin nodded, smiling.
“I need to be here until dad wakes up. If I go back to Vegas, I’ll be worried sick about his condition. Moreover, I missed milking a cow”
The cow moos.
“See mom, our cow misses me too” She said in a funny way, and Gladys laughed.
“I missed your crazy stunts a lot. Have you spoken to Kathryn?”
Kristin was about answering, but was cut short when she heard her name.
“Kristy!”
Kristin raised her head up to look at the person that called her name and she saw Justo running towards her.
She grins and stands up.
“Justo!” She laughs.
Both met at the center, and they hugged each other, Justo carried her during the process of the hug.
“Put me down, Justo!”
Justo carried her down, and Kristin smiled at him.
“I couldn’t believe it at first when the neighbors kept saying that you were back, so I came to clear my doubts. It’s you, you’re finally back!”
“Do you miss me?” Kristin asked, playfully.
“Of course I do. I miss my wife so much!”
Kristin flick his forehead.
“I’m not your wife, that was a drama from years ago”
“Whatever, you’re still my wife, and I am happy you are finally back!” He carries her again.
“Put me down!” Kristin hits his head.
Justo let go of her, and she falls down to the ground.
“Justo!”
“I thought you wanted me to drop you?” He laughs.
“I’m going to kill you!” She took her trowel, chasing Justo around the farmland.
“Blah Blah Blah, you can’t catch me” Justo teased as Kristin chased him around.
“I’m going to kill,” She laughs.
