INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 41 – 50
Kristin came out from her room, tying her hair with a towel. There was no hair dryer in her parent’s house like it was in Richard’s house in Las Vegas.
“Come and sit down, let’s eat, Kristin,” Gladys said.
Kristin sat down and smiled at the sight of adobo.
“I missed having your adobos so badly,” Kristin smiled.
“There’s no adobos there?” Gladys asked, she’s from the Philippines but reside in Glenwood with her husband.
“Las Vegas is mainly for the rich, mom. It’s a beautiful city dominated by rich people, and farming is a zero occupation there”
“I see. Made friends already?”
“Yes. His name is Luke, and he is super sweet and cute” Kristin chortled.
“Do you like him?” Gladys asked, smiling.
“No mom! He is just a friend, he is married and he loves his wife so much. One more thing….”
“I know you love talking, but let’s eat fist” Gladys cut her short.
“Okay mom,” She grins.
A knock came on the door.
“Justo is here already? I will be right back mom” Kristin took up.
She walked to the door and opened it. Her eyes widened and her mouth formed on O when she saw the person standing in front of her.
“Mr…. Mr. Grouchy?” She uttered, still not believing her eyes.
“Yes. It’s me” Richard replied.
“How did you… no. What are you doing here in Glenwood?” She asked, her eyes still widened in shock.
“I couldn’t hold back. I missed you like crazy,” He replied.

Kristin went numb instantly, and words couldn’t form out of her mouth. She was still looking at Richard, shocked that Richard of all people came all the way from Las Vegas to see her.
“Who is at the door?” Gladys asked, cuz Kristin was taking time to return to the dining table.
Kristin closed the door, trying her best to hide the surprise look on her face.
“I thought it was Justo? Why didn’t he come inside the house with you?”
Kristin swallowed.
“Can I step out for a few minutes?” She asked.
“In the middle of dinner? You’re acting surprised. Are you alright?” Gladys asked and Kristin beamed at her.
“I am fine, mom. Just give me five minutes and I will be back”
She rushed out of the house, taking Richard by the hand. Kristin didn’t let go of him until they got to a quiet place where they won’t easily be seen by the human eye.
“What are you doing here?” She asked.
“You’re not happy to see me?” Richard replied with a question.
“It’s not as if I am not happy to see you, I’m just taken by surprise. You’re the least person I expect to see here in Glenwood”
“Why didn’t you at least call me to inform me if you’re okay or not?”
“This town suffers from network problems from time to time. I couldn’t call because my phone wasn’t connecting. What about you? Why didn’t you call?”
“I tried countless times, but it was unreachable,” Richard answered.
“You shouldn’t have come to Glenwood Mr. Grouchy, I told you I was going to come back to Vegas when my dad gets back to his feet”
“Didn’t you hear me when I said I missed you?”
Kristin smiled.
“I was just gone for just five days” She said, blushing.
“I know, but I felt your absence. The house was lonely and quiet”
“Says the man who decided to build a huge mansion that can take in an entire generation” Kristin smiled, and Richard ogled at her.
“What about you? Did you miss me?”
