INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 41 – 50
Voices from outside woke Richard from his sleep. As usual he didn’t sleep until it was 6;am.
The voices from outside were so loud that he had to get up from the bed.
He went outside and standing by the door, he met a group of farmers talking to Kristin and her mom.
It was easy for him to know they were farmers, cuz Kristin once told him how farmers in Glenwood dress.
Richard was just listening to them even if he didn’t clearly understand what they were saying. It had to do with farming, and such words about farming and agriculture were rarely talked about in Glenwood.
“Oh my goodness!” A lady gasped when she saw Richard standing by the door.
Her hands were pointing at Richard, so the rest of them turned to look at Richard.
The farmers gasp as if they haven’t seen a handsome man before.
Yes, they haven’t seen a handsome man like Richard in their entire life in Glenwood.
•Who is he?
•He is so handsome and tall?
•Did Kristin bring a boyfriend home?
•Your boyfriend is so handsome Kristin
•I know she’d bring a rich man, going to Vegas wasn’t a bad idea
•Should I send my daughter to Las Vegas? I heard it’s dominated with rich people•
•I love his lips! You’re so lucky Kristin.
The farmers talked to one another, waving and smiling at Richard.
“He is not her boyfriend, but her boss!” Gladys loudly announced to the farmers.
Some were old, but the rest who were a bit younger were older than Kristin and Richard.
“He is your boss?” Another farmer asked.
Kristin fakes a grin at the gray hair man, and goes to meet Richard who was still standing at the door.
“Mind for a little introduction?” Kristin asked.
Richard looked at the farmers who were smiling at him, and he whispered to Kristin.
“Is that necessary?”
“Yes. Life here in Glenwood is different in Vegas. In Las Vegas, everyone minds their business, but here in Glenwood we live like one big family. They won’t rest until I introduce you to them. Please do this for me” Kristin joins her hands together.
Richard wasn’t the time that socializes with people, and to think that these farmers were mostly women, he didn’t want to be introduced to them, but because of Kristin, he agreed to it.
“Meet my boss, Richard,” Kristin smiled.
•You are so handsome
•I love your gray eyes, even if appears cold
•Oh my! Your eyebrow is so thick
The farmers commented, Richard was only nodding his head. Thankfully these women weren’t trying to touch him, else he won’t have been able to hold it in.
“Are you in love with our Kristy? Is that why you came here to see her?” The oldest farmer among them asked.
Richard looked at Kristin, speechless on what to say. He knows he misses her, but he doesn’t know if he already developed feelings for her.
Kristin and Richard were just staring at each other, until Gladys broke the silence.
“He doesn’t love my daughter! He’s here because of his properties here in Glenwood, right?” Gladys asked.
“Yes mom” Kristin faked a smile.
“Let’s go farmers. We have a lot to do today. Kristin”
“Yes mom”
“Don’t forget what I ask you do, okay”
“Roger that mom”
The farmers waved at Richard when leaving, and when they were out of sight, Kristin faced him.
“Thank you”
“Thank you for what?” He asked.
“You hate socializing with people, but you agreed to be introduced to these people”
“I didn’t do it for you” Richard lied, even when he knew he did it because of Kristin.
Kristin smiled and held his hand.
“I prepared something nice for you to eat, freshen up and join me”
Richard did as he was told, and in the next few minutes, they sat at the small dining table to eat.
Richard kept staring at the food, anticipating if he should eat or not.
“You don’t like the food?”
“I haven’t seen such food before,” He replied.
“It’s common in the Philippines. My mom is from the Philippines, so adobo is her specialty. It’s delicious, you just have to give it a try”
Richard hesitated before eating, and he slowly munched on it.
“How is it?”
