Cecelia stayed up waiting for Luke, and when he came home, she rushed to him.
“Where have you been?” She asked.
“Work” Luke tried leaving, but Cecelia stopped him from doing so.
“You’re lying, Luke. I was at Richard’s hotel earlier, and you weren’t there”
“The hotel isn’t the only property Richard owns. I need to sleep”
“Are you avoiding me?” Cecelia questioned.
Luke ignored her question and went inside the room, Cecelia followed him.
“Answer the question, Luke! You have been coming back home late for three days now! Are you avoiding me? Answer me, Luke!!”
“Yes I am!” Luke answered in a loud voice.
“My wife mentioned another man’s name when I was making love with her! How do you expect me to feel? To accept it like it’s nothing?!”
“He doesn’t exist to me! I told you it’s a name from a movie”
“I don’t care Cecelia! Some part of me what to believe you while the other part says otherwise”
“Don’t you trust me? You were the first man I opened my legs for” Cecelia said, trying to act innocent.
“I know and that’s why I was confused right now” Luke said and headed for the door.
“Where are you going?”
“I’m using the guest room” He replied and left their bedroom.
“What am I going to do?”Cecelia mumbled.
She sat on the bed thinking about what she’d do to get Luke back to trust her.
Natalie was too focused on what she was writing, that she didn’t notice Lewis’s presence.
“What are you doing?” He interrupted her.
Natalie looked at Lewis, but her eyes went back to her laptop.
“Making preparations for my new book”
“You’re going back to writing? I thought you were done with that shit?”
“Yes I was, but I got encouraged to start all over again. My life doesn’t end because I am paralyzed” Natalie said.
She remembers Luke and smiled.
“Who was it?”
“I don’t always ask you about the people you meet, you should do the same”
“Have you forgotten I am your husband?”
“I didn’t forget that, but you drew the boundary between us”
“Nat…”
“I am busy, you should leave. It looks like you are going out, use the door and leave me alone”
“I will be back”
“Whatever” Natalie huffed.
Lewis leaves and Natalie continues what she was doing. She also looked into Luke’s IG account, and she couldn’t stop smiling while watching his pictures.

Lewis arrives at the cafe, and Ophelia was seated waiting for him.
He took a seat facing her, while Ophelia looked at him, her red lipstick lips, moving sideways.
“From what I can remember, you clearly said you didn’t want to work with me”
“You were right, two heads are better than one” Lewis answered.
“What made you change your mind?” Ophelia asked, and Lewis dropped a flyer on the table for her.
“Richard is opening a new business”
“I know about it. The opening of his company is this Saturday”
“He is climbing higher the more I try to bring him down”
“Have plans?”
“Yes I do. What if the whole of Vegas knows Richard is suffering from trauma”
“He has trauma?” Ophelia asked, getting curious.
“Yes. I don’t know the full details, but Richard hatred for women has something to do with his past, he fears the ball anklets a lot”
“Jangling sounds?”
“Bingo” Lewis smirks.
“A man like Richard has a fear of jangling sound?” Ophelia question.
“Yes. It terrifies him, and he becomes a weak if he hears it”
“This is getting interesting,” Ophelia smiled, and continued.
“But how did you know about Richard’s phobia? Even my husband his adopted father doesn’t know about it”
“He used to be my best friend”
