REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 31 – 40

CHAPTER 33 & 34.

FACE-OFF

Tesiera stepped out of Kracus’s office, her mind racing with thoughts of what she had just agreed to.

She had always valued her independence and cherished her solitude. The idea of living in someone else’s mansion and being at their beck and call was not something that sat well with her.

However, the thought of having to endure the nightmares that haunted her every night in someone else’s abode was the most daunting aspect of the arrangement. She couldn’t bear the thought of waking up in a cold sweat, kicking and screaming.

Tesiera knew that she had to start taking her medication again. She hated the way it made her feel, sluggish and weird. But it was the only way she could get dreamless, peaceful sleep.

She cursed Venus under her breath for talking her into this. She couldn’t deny that she did want to do it, but now that she was faced with it, she couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease that clung to her.

“You can always pull away whenever you want, Tesiera. No one is forcing you,” she muttered to herself as she made her way down the long and winding hallways of the hospital. The walls were a sickly shade of off-white, and the floors creaked under her feet, adding to the already eerie atmosphere. The fluorescent lights overhead flickered every now and then, casting strange shadows on the walls.

As she turned a corner, Tesiera found herself face-to-face with a sign that read “Restrooms” in bold, black letters. She hesitated for a moment before pushing the door open and stepping into the small, dimly lit room. The air was thick with the scent of disinfectant, making her nose wrinkle in disgust. The sound of running water filled the room, echoing off the tiles that lined the walls.

Tesiera strode over to the sink, the cool metal of the faucet feeling refreshing against her skin. She turned the knob, watching as the water flowed from the spout, creating small ripples on the surface of the basin.

As she lifted her gaze to the mirror, Tesiera caught a glimpse of her reflection. She couldn’t help but notice how drained she looked. The bags under her eyes were darker than usual, her skin pale and sallow. She wondered how long it had been since she had gotten a good night’s rest.

The sleeplessness had worsened in recent years, especially since she started hunting her father’s killers. She stared at herself for a moment, taking in the image before her. Her face was stern, her eyes cold and unyielding. She had always been a stoic person, but now she wondered if she had become too hardened, too unfeeling.

Tesiera’s thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the door opening. She quickly averted her gaze from the mirror, turning to see who had entered the room. A young nurse stepped inside, her eyes widening in surprise as she took in Tesiera’s appearance and the fact that she didn’t look like a patient.

The nurse moved to the other side—far away from her to do her own business.

Tesiera pulled her eyes away from the mirror, dried her hands, and walked out of the restroom.

REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 31 – 40

The hospital’s neurology ward’s doors opened and Bose stepped in, a can of soda in his hand and he took occasional sips from it. He had just returned from the evaluation with the new set of prospective bodyguards, it was almost time for Kracus to get off shift so he decided to come straight to the hospital.

Just then, he spotted something that caught his eye. Or rather, someone.

He squirmed his eyes, straining his vision to see if his eyes were telling him the truth or deceiving him. But no, it was clear as day and he wasn’t mistaken at all. It was really her, the red–haired assassin. She’d just come out of the restroom and now she was walking towards the boss’s office.

“Shit, it’s that bitch again. What the hell is she doing here?”

Bose snarled to himself, his good mood turning sour immediately sighted her and his hatred for her morphed into immense anger. His grip on his can of soda tightened in a fit of his anger; it was so tight that it crumpled under the pressure.

“Well, I’m glad she’s here now, I can finally deal with her as she deserves.”Bose tossed the can into the nearby bin.

Bose was an expert when it came to soundless movements and he was good at sneaking up on unsuspecting people, irrespective of his size. He walked too close to his target and grabbed her, hoisting her up in a split-second and putting her over his shoulders.

For a full second, Tesiera was dumbfounded at the unexpected attack. “Let me go!” She snapped, beating in his back and swinging her legs as she tried to smuggle out of his grip, but it was too tight. Hell, the bastard.

She made a sharp twist, but Bose expected it and countered the move with a twirl of his own, preventing her escape. But he knew he couldn’t hold her for long, so he dashed into the nearest room, hoping to find it empty, and was grateful when it was. He shut the doors behind him.

“Take your hands off me!” Tesiera pressed on a pressure point on his neck for a split–second but it was enough to jerk his nerves and he let go of her. Tesiera landed on her feet and took advantage of the distraction she created and hurled a punch at Bose.

“Fuck!” He groaned and his hand met with his now aching cheek which was the nesting place for Tesiera’s power–packed punch.

She spared no time and moved to make another attack, a kick this time but Bose quickly recovered and grabbed her leg mid–air, twisting it and pushing it to the ground and balling his fist punch Tesiera. She caught a hold of his wrists in–time and averted the attack, then proceeded to knee him in the stomach and he let out a pained groan.

He didn’t make the mistake of clutching his paining stomach—with his two hands away, it would give Tesiera another room to attack. Instead, he ignored the burning pain and dived straight for her neck, grabbing it and slamming her onto the wall.

Clinton whistled mindlessly as he scrolled through his phone. He had just left the boss’s office and his mind was still reeling from the things he’d heard. When the boss told her the female assassin would work with them, at first he thought it was the boss’s poor attempt at a joke. But that thought quickly disappeared when the doc didn’t crack a smile.

His next thought had been that the boss had lost his mind and something on his face must have given his thought away because the boss did smile then, and said his mind was perfectly intact. But before the boss could say anything to him, a nurse came in to request his attention privately and he had to leave.

REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 31 – 40

Now, he was currently on his way to the visitor’s restroom and he was still unable to come to grips with the fact that the boss had hired an assassin that almost killed him. The doc did explain to them last week that she already knew it was his half-brother, Cullian who killed her father, not him, but it still doesn’t make sense that he would hire her to protect his life.

As he passed by the cleaning closet and heard a familiar noise which was strange to hear, considering that they were in a hospital. He arched a brow as his attention was pricked, he had to back–step to the door. And then he heard it clearly now, the unmistakable sound of people fighting.

“Who the hell fights in a freaking hospi—“ Clinton was saying as he opened the door but cut off mid-sentence when he took in the intense scene of Bose and Tesiera going at each other.

“Of course, I should have known that it’ll be the both of you.” Quite frankly, he wasn’t surprised at all that they were about to kill each other.

Tesiera had the wooden part of a mopstick in her hand and she was using it to fight Bose, who was dodging her attacks and trying to land a punch on her.

“Alright, that’s enough with it you two. You need to stop.” Clinton said but it fell on deaf ears, they were way too driven by the strong urge to just murder each other.

Bose was finally able to grab Tesiera’s stick and yank it away from her hand and in a quick motion, he used it to deliver a forehand strike to his left collarbone and really swing downward to hit her kneecap. The hit to her knee made her lose her balance and stumble.

“Bose, stop!” Clinton warned.

“No way bro, this woman was about to enter the boss’ office and kill him. I saw her and I caught her. I’ve been wanting to deal with her and I plan to do that before I blow her brains out!” Bose refused to back down and launched himself at Tesiera again with the stick. Tesiera had doubled up, pretending to massage her aching knee but she was just faking and waiting for Bose to get close enough.

And when he did, she took him by surprise and caught the other end of the weapon then exerted so much force and rammed it back to his stomach. Bose’s end of the stick hit his stomach with a mighty fervor that he immediately coughed out blood. Tesiera took the stick away from him and snapped it into half, throwing it away then she delivered another mighty punch on his jaw.

His jaw cracked at the impact and he let out a low groan; her hands moved in quick succession as she hurled multiple punches at Bose’s face within a short moment. Bose’s blood was splashed all over her shirt and the inner red wear was stained.

Bose’s face was battered and so was Tesiera’s. He recovered quickly and grabbed her, spun her around and then smashed her face into the wall.

“Hell, you both are gonna kill each other. I need to get the boss.” Clinton quickly sped out of the cleaning closet and briskly made it to Kracus’ office, he knocked and then entered inside.

Kracus looked away from his ton of paperwork and at Clinton, whose interruption was already encroaching into the little time he had left to finish going through today’s reports before his shift ended.

“Yes, Clinton? You just left my office like five minutes ago, I’m working right now and the constant barging in is distracting.” Kracus’ attention went back to his work, alternating from writing on sheets of paper and then clicking on his computer.

“Yeah, sorry boss, but this is important.” Clinton said and Kracus’ eyes moved to Clinton without him moving his head. “Bose and Tesiera are killing each other.” He reported.

Kracus slammed his pen on the table and exhaled deeply. “Already?” Honestly, he wasn’t in the mood for their shenanigans and wasn’t looking forward to being in the middle of it.

“Yes, boss. They are going at it like rabbits.” Clinton confirmed.

“Not the right phrase, Clinton, they are not having sex.” He snorted, then his tilted backwards and he let out a frustrated groan. “Damn,” he cursed, hurrying out of his chair.

He followed Clinton to the cleaning closet and let out a long, audibly sigh at the sight in front of him. Bose was on the floor and Tesiera was over him, they had their hands tightened around each other’s necks, bloodied and sweaty faces.

“Hell, stop it, both of you.” Kracus commanded and they stilled instantly. Bose froze and loosened his fingers, but Tesiera seemed not to be having it because her fingers remained around Bose’s neck.

“Tesiera, let him go, now.” he directed at her, but she tightened her fingers, glaring at a confused Bose.

“He started it.” She snapped angrily.

“And I’ll finish it. Let him go,” he stated crisply. “I know you don’t want you, but you have to. Remember what we talked about?”

Tesiera gritted her teeth, but slowly, her fingers loosened. Bose began coughing, trying to take in air into his depraved lungs. They pulled away from each other and stood.

“Boss, I found her walking to your office,” he eyed her, “I’m gonna kill her.”

“Haven’t you both had enough?” They were both bloody, but they don’t seem to care about that.

They glared at each other, taking a fighting stance again.

“Bose, Tesiera, stand down.” Kracus rubbed his nap tiredly. He could feel a headache developing.

“You come at me next time and I’ll fucking murder you.” Tesiera stated firmly, her eyes blazing.

“You’re welcome to try, princess.” Bose shot back and advanced on her again.

“Bose, for chrissake…” Kracus groaned.

Bose winced and drew back. “Sorry, boss. I can’t seem to help myself. I really want to kill her,”

“You will do no such thing,” Kracus countered. Then, a grimace formed on his face. He really wasn’t looking forward to this. “Bose, meet Tesiera Rinderson, the newest member of the group.”
