REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 51 – 60
CHAPTER 55 & 56
An hour later, he just got off a call from Dr. Albert, the neurosurgeon in charge of his patients while he was gone, and was preparing to take a shower. He undressed, wrapped his towel around his waist and gathered his toiletries to head to the bathroom when a soft knock came to his door.
He opened the door to find Tesiera standing in front of him, a calm expression on her face. “Can I come in?”
He stepped aside to let her in. She walked in and stood awkwardly in the middle of the room, her eyes downcast.
“I’m sorry for what happened earlier,” she said quietly. “It was unethical and unprofessional.”
Kracus had had time to calm down and he admitted to himself that he might have overreacted, so her apology took him by surprise.
However, he didn’t let it show, instead he nodded, “Apology accepted. It will be nice if you get along with Bose, Tesiera. He has been with me for ten years. I know he can be…menacing, but he does have the best intentions. He is that way with you because of what happened.” Because you tried to kill me twice, but he didn’t say it out loud, since she knows why.
“I understand. I’ll try to do better,” she responded.
Kracus nodded. “That’s all I ask.”
Silence descended upon the room, the only sound heard was the ticking of the clock on the wall.
His eyes settled on her injured shoulder, “Punching Bose must have hurt, let me see that wound.”
Tesiera shrugged, “I didn’t feel it.”
She hesitated for a moment, then she unbuttoned three buttons of her shirt and carefully removed her hand, revealing a tightly wrapped bandage around her shoulder.
Kracus covered the distance between them and carefully removed the bandage to inspect the wound. The wound was red and slightly swollen but scabbed over. It was starting to form new tissues.
“It looks good,” he said, his eyes focused on the wound. “It’s healing right. I’m gonna redress it.”
“It’s fine, doc. I don’t really care about it.” she replied and started to get her arm back into the sleeve, but he stopped the movement with his hand.
“I do care about it, so let me do this. You’re still my patient and it’s my responsibility to make sure that wound heals properly. This won’t take long,” he turned away, went to his dresser and retrieved the first aid kit.
Tesiera was trying not to look at his biceps. She never thought it’ll be hard to keep her eyes to herself but it was proving to be just that. His tight muscles flexed as he picked up the kit and her mouth fucking watered.
Get a hold of yourself, she snapped at herself. You’re here to apologize not to eye-fuck the man for crying out loud.
Kracus returned to her side, urged her toward the bed and they sat facing each other. Gently, he began to clean the wound with antiseptic, then applied a fresh bandage.
Tesiera watched him silently, her face still devoid of emotion, but her insides were hot. Kraccusian Kingston is a work of art and she was very attracted to him.
“So, are you a lesbian?” He asked quietly. When she glanced up at him, he gave her a small smile, “I’m sorry if that made you uncomfortable.”
“You overhead that bickering with Bose.” she stated.
It wasn’t really a question, but he nodded, “Every damn word.”
Silence descended again; a comfortable silence that seemed to stretch on forever.
“I don’t care for labels, but if I was to throw one on, I’ll say that I’m bisexual.” she responded at last. “In fact, I’m more attracted to men than I am to women.”
“You are attracted to men?” He was visibly surprised, and it showed not only through his words but also on his face.
She looked up and their eyes met. “Why? Is that so hard to believe?”
“But you said—“
“I know what I said, and it is what it is.”
Kracus pulled back and looked at her. “There. All done.”
Tesiera looked down at her freshly dressed wound, and back at him, “Thank you so much, doc.” She got up and arranged her shirt before walking to the door.
As she reached the door, she stopped and turned around, “Doc?”
He was already at the door of the bathroom and he stopped too, “Yes?”
“A lesbian wouldn’t particularly notice your broad shoulders and toned arms. The way your muscles ripple under your skin as you handle that first aid kit and those chiseled abs which your waist towel barely covered. She wouldn’t notice the natural sex appeal you elude, and the way you carry your strong physique with ease and poise wouldn’t be so goddamn appealing either.” she stated firmly without stuttering, looking him in the eyes, “You’re a very attractive man, Kraccusian Kingston.”
That said, she walked out of the door and closed it behind her.
