REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 81 – 90
CHAPTER 83 & 84.
TESIERA’S DILEMMA.
A few hours later, Kracus sauntered downstairs, a big smile on his face, happily whistling a tune as he carried a cup of coffee. The morning—well, more like the afternoon—was looking real nice.
He plopped himself down on his couch in the living room of the Right Wing and turned on the television. With a casual move, he hit the alarm button on the side of the couch. Putting those buttons everywhere was a smart move. Saved his life that night when The Torturer sneaked in through his bedroom window to kill him. Thinking about her made him grin.
In a flash, Bose and Clinton appeared through the door. They moved so smoothly, you wouldn’t even hear them coming. But after ten years together, Kracus knew their drill. “Hey, it’s just me here, no worries.”
“Hey boss, good day,” Bose rumbled, and the click of a safety being put on echoed in the room.
“Damn, sometimes I wish there was someone else here. I’m itching for a fight this morning,” Clinton grumbled.
Both men stood in front of Kracus, Clinton’s face all smiles, while Bose looked more serious. Troubled.
“Everything cool, Bose?” Kracus asked.
Bose’s head tilted to the side in thought, “I was doing security checks with the security team, and we found some weird wiring at vacant four. The security team thinks it could be a fluke, but I’m leaning towards a security breach,” he responded, “They’re saying it’s impossible that intruders got past all our security systems unnoticed, but I don’t buy it. We’ve fixed the issue, but I’m still worried.”
“Personally, I’m with the security team on this one. We’ve got a bunch of systems to catch breaches, and we upped our game after that whole mess with the Torturer trying to off the boss a few months back. I think it might’ve been a glitch,” Clinton chimed in.
Bose shot him a glare. “Doesn’t surprise me, Clinton. Your brain’s always a bit scrambled, you wouldn’t know a breech if it bit you in the ass.”
Clinton gave him a cheeky grin and flipped him the bird.
Kracus managed to keep a straight face, even though he wanted to burst out laughing. There was a breach, but the perpetrator was currently in his bedroom probably taking her bath. Or back in her own bedroom to change clothes.
“I’m siding with Clinton here. Probably just a hiccup the team missed.” He said aloud.
Bose’s brow furrowed, but he seemed to let it slide. “Boss, how’re you feeling now? Clinton had me worried.”
“I wasn’t feeling great earlier, but I think it was just because I pulled an all-nighter working. Needed some shut-eye, and now I’m feeling better,” Kracus replied, taking a sip of his coffee.
“I’m relieved to hear that—” Bose began, only to be interrupted as the door swung open.
Tesiera walked in. She was decked out in her leather gear, her weapons stacked in position. Her hair was tightly pulled back in a ponytail atop her head, and her boots moved silently as she approached.
“Tesiera, you’re back!?” Clinton exclaimed, surprised. “We were starting to think you’d gone MIA for good.”
Tesiera’s brow furrowed at Clinton’s enthusiasm. “I’ve got some unfinished business here,” she replied curtly.
Looking at her now, it was hard to believe this was the same woman who had unraveled in his bed not too long ago. The hair that had spread across his sheets was now neatly pulled up, and the usually stern expression on her face had returned.
She must have slipped from his room to hers to change into new clothes before joining them. His dick hardened. She looked breathtaking in all that leather, her curves profound.
To distracted himself, he grabbed his coffee and downed it in one go.
Kracus half-expected Bose to fire off a snarky comment—or two—towards Tesiera, starting their usual fight, but was caught off guard when Bose actually offered a nod of acknowledgment to her instead. He raised an eyebrow in surprise.
For a brief seconds, Tesiera’s expression mirrored her own astonishment too. But then, it returned to its usual impassive state, and she reciprocated with a subtle nod of her own.
Hmm. Maybe they would get along after all.
Clinton, ever the instigator, chimed in, “So, how’d your mission go? The boss mentioned you had something to handle.” He knew perfectly well that she had embarked on a mission to avenge her father’s death, but they weren’t supposed to be aware of that, so he pretended he didn’t. “How did it play out?”
Tesiera remained silent. She wasn’t accustomed to this kind of conversation, and these two being friendly was a strangeness she didn’t know how to deal with. What had prompted the change?
She eyed them skeptically, searching for any hint in their expressions. Could they possibly know she had spent the night with Kracus?
But she dismissed the thought as quickly as it’d came. The doors were locked, his bedroom was soundproofed, and she had been thorough when she’d left that bedroom not to be seen.
“Tell me, how did it go?” Clinton prompted again, seeming genuinely interested.
Maybe they were trying to make an effort. She had promised the doc she’d make an effort, and she never broke her word.
“Mission accomplished,” she replied simply.
“Hey, that’s good news!” Smiling widely, Clinton elbowed Bose, his eyebrow raised questioningly when Bose glared at him. “Isn’t it good news, Bose?”
Bose seemed more reluctant, but eventually he grumbled, “I guess it is.”
Yeah, they were definitely trying. This was… awkward.
The voices from the television drew everyone’s attention. A breaking news report was unfolding.
“Last night, a shocking incident unfolded as a billionaire, identified to be Jacob Hansel Blake was found murdered in one of his mansions. According to reports, he was assassinated. The authorities are currently conducting investigations to uncover the truth behind this gruesome event. The scene remains cordôned off as detectives work tirelessly to piece together the details. More updates on this developing story are expected to follow as the investigation continues.”
Damn, that was you, right?” Clinton nodded proudly in Tesiera’s direction. “Good job, Torturer.”
“I’ve heard about that guy. He’s mixed up in some real shady stuff. The security around his place must have been insane. How’d you manage to break in?” Bose inquired.
Tesiera shrugged. Her gaze flicked to Kracus, only to find him watching her. Unbidden, her mind drifted back to what they’d done in his bedroom, and a flush of embarrassment threatened to rise.
The memory of being in his arms, of the things they’d done…It sent a shiver down her spine. It was hard for her to believe she was that woman—the one who was quaking in his bed, the one who’d begged him to finger her. The sounds she had made, the moans and that scream when she climaxed…
Heat crept up her cheeks. She couldn’t believe those sounds had come from her. It was modifying, embarrassing to say the least. She felt hot down there too. Jesus, what was wrong with her?
But then again, no man had ever touched her the way Kracussian Kingston had. No man had given her that kind of pleasure she hadn’t thought possible before.
The few people she’d been with before had been nothing more than means to an end. She had hardly felt anything during their encounters. But Kracus was different. He had ignited her body in ways she hadn’t imagined, and the most surprising part was that she’d wanted to reciprocate. Still wanted to.
She wants to pleasure him as much as he had pleasured her.
The ringing of Kracus’s cellphone shattered the connection between them, breaking the moment.
He placed the phone to his ear. After a moment, his expression shifted from playful to serious, and he leaned forward, all signs of playfulness gone.
“I’ll be there as fast as I can,” he concluded before hanging up the phone.
“Get the car ready. We’re heading to the hospital,” he ordered, rising from the couch and already halfway across the living room.
*******************
REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 81 – 90
By nighttime, they were all still stationed at the hospital. One of Kracus’s patients had suffered a complication and required an additional surgery. Fortunately, their efforts had paid off, and the patient’s life had been saved.
it was a challenge for Tesiera to look inconspicuous in her full-body leather attire, complete with a bulletproof vest underneath, high boots, and àn array of concealed weapons. But she still tried to blend in.
The last time she had been in this hospital—which had also been her first time—they had come under gunfire. Now, she wasn’t about to take any chances. She remained on high alert, her senses sharp.
Big Cat had given her a call an hour ago to commend her on her successful mission, then he’d invited her back home for a celebration. But when she mentioned being at Kracus’s place, he had taken on that suspicious tone once more, laughing and teasing her.
It was strange. Tesiera had no idea why—
“Hey, Tesiera, it’s your turn,” Bose’s voice broke her train of thought, and she turned her attention to him.
She nodded and pushed away from the wall where she had been leaning, surveying every corner of the cardiology department. They took turns keeping watch over Kracus in his office, and now it was her shift.
She was still uncertain about Bose’s change in attitude. The man hadn’t tried to start a fight, unlike three weeks ago. Perhaps her stay away from the mansion helped the big guy get used to the idea of her working with them.
Tesiera entered Kracus’s office and quietly shut the door behind her. Her gaze settled on him. He was seated at his desk, dressed sharply in that elegant suit, while his scrubs hung behind him. Engrossed in an apparently important call, he appeared both busy and exhausted.
He was so handsome. A shiver of awareness traveled down her spine.
Tesiera clenched her teeth in a mix of desire and frustration. Dammit, she couldn’t even glance at him without her mind wandering back to this morning, wanting more of this morning…craving more of him. It bothered her greatly.
She’d slept with him in an attempt to get rid of the distraction being attracted to him had caused, yet somehow, why does it seem like she was even more distracted now than had been before?
Baffling. Utterly strange.
She moved noiselessly to the couch and settled in, picking up a discarded newspaper she knew was left by Bose. Afterall, the aim was to appear as comfortable as possible, blending in without looking like she was guarding him to an outsider.
The newspaper was way better than the other option she had in mind, which is to use him as an eye-candy. Hell, she could probably spend hours looking at the man without getting tired. Yeah, really strange.
Time passed by as he worked quietly, yet she remained attuned to his presence. When he stood up, she expected him to head towards the door. However, he surprised her by walking to the other side of the office where she was seated. He stop in front of her.
Tesiera lowered the newspaper, locking eyes with him. “Are you finished for the day?”
He shook his head. “Almost. Needed a brief stretch.” Seating himself beside her, their knees brushed against each other.
“You work too hard. Maybe you should call it a day and pick up where you left off tomorrow.” Tesiera was glad her voice came out as hard as she wanted it to, not as breathless as she was feeling because of his close proximity.
“The workload today was heavy. It was my fault,” he confessed, a mischievous glint dancing in his eyes. “I happened to show up really late for work today, for some reason.”
Crap. Heat crept up her cheeks, and she swore under her breath. You’d better not be blushing, Tesiera told herself sternly.
“You look so pretty when you blush.”
“I. Do. Not. Blush.” She emphasized, glaring up at him with a defiant tilt of her chin. Her eyes dared him to say otherwise.
Kracus chuckled, seemingly amused by her reaction, as if he found her quite entertaining.
“Shouldn’t you be working, doc? Don’t you have patients to check up on?” She muttered, averting her eyes.
She really was embarrassed about this morning, Kracus thought with a hidden smile. He knew fully well that she enjoyed what they did but he wondered which part of it had shaken her up more.
“I can sense you have something on your mind. Don’t think I didn’t know those glances you’ve been sneaking my way the whole day.” He drawled, his tone playful but perceptive. “Come on, you can ask me.”
Damn, he was perceptive. Tesiera said nothing.
“You’re not saying anything.”
“That’s not strange. You know that I don’t enjoy talking.”
“Fair point. But you have something to say, I know that much. You’re being awfully quiet for someone who never holds back, even in the most awkward conversations.”
Tesiera maintained her silence.
He’d guessed that she wasn’t gonna say anything anyway. Kracus gave a nod, still smiling. “That’s alright. I’ve got something to share though.”
He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a whisper near her ear. “I loved having you in my arms, Tesiera. You have no idea how good you look in that leather. It hugs your curves in all the right places, it was all I could do not to go raging like a gorilla to all the men that looked at you today. You have no idea how beautiful you are.”
“You shouldn’t be saying things like that, doc,” Tesiera fought to keep her expression neutral, though her hands gripped her thighs tightly. She wanted to grab him, kiss him so hard—if for nothing else but to shut him up.
Who was she kidding, though? Kissing him to silence him wasn’t even among the top five reasons she wanted to kiss him.
Her body felt warm, tingling with awareness. “You should shift, it’s getting claustrophobic around here.”
He didn’t budge; in fact, he drew closer. “You’ve been on my mind all day.” He had hoped that sleeping with her would alleviate the attraction he felt for her, but Kracus was beginning to realize one thing with certainty: once was simply not enough. Not even close.
And she wasn’t pushing him away. That was also a good sign, “I need you in my arms. I want to hear you again. The sounds you make…they are incredibly arousing.”
What they were, was embarrassing. Tesiera still couldn’t believe that they came from her.
Kracus’s cellphone rang from his desk. He decided that he’d tormented her enough. So, he rose. “I’ll round up here so we can go home.”
The coldness that hit her when he rose took her by surprise, as much as her next move which was instantaneous, and impulsive.
She shot up, covered the distance between them and slammed their lips together.
The unexpected move caught him by surprise, but Kracus didn’t pause to process it. With a deep, rumbling groan, he captured her lips in a kiss that mirrored his daylong craving.
“Fuck, yeah. I’ve wanted to do this all day,” he groaned into her mouth. His arm curled around her, drawing her tightly against him to grind his hips together with hers.
Tesiera’s fingers gripped the back of his neck, and she boldly thrust her tongue into his mouth, exploring with fervor.
In that intense moment, everything else faded away as their mouths mated together hungrily. They kissed with a fierce hunger, their lips and tongues moving in a dance of longing. Kracus grinded his growing erection against her, drawing a throaty moan from her. Her hips matched his, their movements combined fueled by the molting-hot desire between them.
What the hell did you do to me, doc? Tesiera wanted to ask but she couldn’t bring herself to untangle her tongue from his mouth enough to ask that question. She’ll ask later.
Kracus’s hand traced a path up her back, and her nails lightly scratched his head, sending a shiver down his spine. The taste of her tongue against his stoked an intense hunger that begged to be satisfied. He moved his finger and groaned in frustration when he couldn’t easily slip it beneath the leather top.
Funny, how the piece of clothing that had made him hot with desire all day was suddenly not so thrilling to him now.
He abandoned that journey and instead, kissed her harder. In that moment, nothing else mattered; the outside world disappeared, leaving only the burning passion between them.
Suddenly, the creak of the door swung it open, “Ready to head out, bos—” The voice caught mid-sentence. “Oh.”
Startled, they leapt apart at the sound of Clinton’s voice.
Their gazes travelled to the door only to see Clinton standing there, his eyes as wide as saucers, nearly brushing his hairline.
And he didn’t come alone, Bose was also standing beside him.
