CHAPTER 21

Dropping the phone call after agreeing to meet one on one with Jayson Bartel

Why did I even felt special?

For me to even think he’d give me his personal line is the highest illusion of my entire life

Like what was I thinking?….. I’m just a poor street rat and I expect that the son of a filthy rich billionaire is going to lower his standards for me?

I’m such a dreamer

The rain got heavier by the minute as I got drenched completely

“My phone…..” I trailed as I tucked it in my purse….. hugging myself tightly as the heavy rain drops hits the ground agressively as I shivered biting my lips together as I tried not to give in into the urge of reminiscing about the past

A black car suddenly pulled up as I shiverishly stood up…….my purse was damn wet and so am I

The window winde down a little and I recognized his face immediately

It’s the peaksqueak that wanted to report me earlier……..I frowned as he honked on the horn

I stood ridgid as I shivered slightly……..

Hope am not making the biggest mistake of my life?

What am I doing?……is it right?

What plans does this rich guy has?……but he’s willing to pay

Pay just enough to make me stop getting drenched by the rain…….the pains…… harassments

He honked the horn again and poked his head closer

“I don’t got all day, you know?” He said with a furball look and I blinked repeatedly…… coming out of my thoughts as I dragged myself towards the car

Damn I’m wet….. I’m literally dripping…….my hair is also a soaked mess

I entered the car and felt a squesshing funny sound………I was kinda embarrassed though but I acted up as if I wasn’t bothered about my dampness

He ignited the car and started off….. looking out from the window as I saw my uncle piercing gaze at me……I gulped down as I looked back at him

He seems rather surprised as we both shared an intense gaze

“That must be your Dad?” He asked suddenly and my head snapped towards him

I didn’t know how or what to feel at the moment…..my lips parted slightly as we got on the main road

” I wish…” I trailed with a blank expression on my face and he furrowed his eyebrows

“I’m guessing you both aren’t on good terms……why did he lock you out?” He asked again and I shifted uncomfortably…..my àss guming to the leather seat

“I’d rather not talk about it” I said plainly and he scoffs……I shifted my gaze to the rare mirror up top and I instantly had a dislike for him….. I’m pretty sure we are definitely not going to get along well

The rest of the ride was super boring and quiet as he focused on the road while I drown in my thoughts

A huge lump form in my throat as I stared at no one in particular…… Avia really knows how to torment me no doubt but still…..we are family and even though I wanna hit her so badly…..I just can’t

Growing up we used to be very close…..we did everything thing together…..we were best friends but suddenly she started distancing herself

My mom would usually tell me not to worry that everything would be fine but things only got worse and after the death of my parents……

Avia just shut me out and started tormenting me…. just like her Dad

The great friendship we had shattered completely and we became pure enemies……I just wished she has told me why she changed

Till this very moment she hates my guts and I have no other option than to return the exact same energy.
