CHAPTER 56

Uncle Bob’s Room

The neatly arranged documents that contains every single asset that belonged to Jasmine’s late father were placed on the table

Bob smiled brightly to himself as he imagined what the next few months holds for him

The only reason he brought Jasmine was so she could help him achieve his selfish goals bit now she’s married but that doesn’t mean he still wouldn’t get to achieve his purpose

God knows he hasn’t been fair to her but it’s not his fault that her father got the biggest part of the business and he wants it all to himself

Luckily, his brother died and he took over immediately but was shocked when he saw his will

Jasmine would have to turn twenty four before she signs and take complete ownership and that’s just what he’s waiting for

The door opened and Laurence walked in with a drink and Bob took it, gulping down everything in a go as he smiles with his teeth wide open

“Very soon son, I will be rich again and I will take over, it’s only a matter of time and boom!….. I’m back on my feet” he said and Laurence clenched his fist

“You mean, we will be rich Dad……why are you always excluding me and my sister in this mission?” he asked and Bob rolls his eyes

“Avia already has enough money to last her her whole life time, she has houses and cars and landed properties….. while you just lazy around… looking for free money, it doesn’t work that way son” he said and a mischievous knowing smirk formed on Laurence face

“I’m not going to let you get those properties because they’re are mine” Laurence said and Bob frowned instantly

“What are you talking about……?” He couldn’t get to complete the statement when he started coughing…. Laurence smriks as he watched him fall on the ground limply

“What ……did you do…… to my drink?” Bob asked with difficulty and Laurence smriks……he grabbed the documents from the table and smiles as he caress it fondly

“I’m putting you on hold while I take over…… don’t worry, I won’t kill you yet” he said and three large men entered and took Bob away, by now his eyes were shut and Laurence smrik grew wider

“I told you I had other plans” he mutters as he followed the men almost immediately

Jasmine’s Pov

It’s been days since our little moment in the living room and I don’t know if it’s just me but Jayson has been kinda friendly towards me

He greets me every morning before going to work, he checks up on me before going to bed, although we still sleep differently and I respect that

He knows how to keep his cool even though I’m a huge pain on his àss and I sometimes catch him staring at me if am not looking

I know this is all an act from my side but after that night, I honestly wanted to tell him the truth, I badly want to tell me that I’m not who he thinks I am…..I don’t want us to build a friendship based on lies

I batrayed him and secretly work with his mom and if he’s ever going to find out, then I should be the one to tell him.

I climbed down the stairs and met him watching the TV…. there’s a medium size box on the table as I got closer he paused to look at me, a smile on his face and I instantly felt gulit taking his hilts on me

Jayson is becoming soft because of my act, I want something real, I should tell him before it’s too late

“Morning, starfish…..you slept well, I guess?” He asked on a go and I simply stared at the strange man in front of me

“Starfish isn’t a nickname…. and yes, I slept well” I said with an eye roll and he chuckled…..scotting a little for me to sit beside him….. he’s become so friendly

“That’s your nickname and I’m not changing it so get used to it” he said, his eyes still focused on the TV and I groaned

“Fine, if you are going to give me an hideous nickname then I will just have to give you mine as well” I said and he raised an eyebrow

“Whatever you say, Star” he said and I smiled.
